Clarifying: she's carrying a Jamin Puech bag...I don't know if it's the same style you won.

I received my brand new Jamin Puech bag in the mail. See the photo of Reese Witherspoon above with the same purse.
I won it through "20 Designer Pruses in 20 Days" contest at SoapNet.com
The retail value is $985.
Its gorgoues and the leather smells so good, but I really dont need a $1000 purse.
If anyone is interested making me an offer, PM me :goodvibes

Here are some photos of the purse I won from Soapnet.

The green and white bag the purse came in. Who knew you needed a bag for your bag!

That is gorgeous!!!
May I ask about how much a bag like this costs?

sure! It was $498. $518 with the tax. And then I went to the Kittery outlet in Maine the Coach outlet and got the Sig Hobo wallet for $100 bucks! Which it has the gold around it.

So I did not think I did to bad. My longest Vintage coach I have looks still new and I have had it for 18 years and it is a huge black and brass all leather bag. It will NEVER wear down!

so I say go ahead people buy your 20-60 buck bags ever few months...I am set for life!

Hey Safari, not to rain on your parade, but there is a Coach Outlet in Tilton, NH, exit 21 on I 93 north. You could have saved the sales tax. No sales tax in NH!!!!!

As far as using a puurse for life, there is no way I would do it. I can't see spending more than 50 or 60 dollars on a purse, because after a couple of years, it goes to charity. But I have friends who have the same purses now that they had 40 years ago. I don't think that there is a "classic" style that can last that long. But that's just me.

I like nice handbags...not $800 plastic ones, nice well-made leather ones. I don't buy a lot of clothes, and I don't get excited about shoes. That being said, I will not pay full price for a nice bag, I will go to an outlet or wait for a mark down. A few weeks ago, I found a beautiful Dooney & Bourke handbag regulary priced at $285 for $170.. I snatched it up and am axiously awaiting next spring when I can carry a yellow leather bag. :goodvibes I take very good care of them and never ever put them on the floor.

On the other hand, I have been known to buy a knock off bag at a flea market for $35, and carry it for months. The most I have ever paid for a designer bag was $195 for a D&B right after I got my first "real" job. I usually don't come close to that.

I am one who doesn't "get" expensive shoes...:confused3

yes, I am very well aware of that outlet. BUT the bag I just got is NEW. they do not have them in the outlets as of yet.

I do do my homework. have been for many, many years. but thanks!
and what I paid in tax, would have been more in gas for me.
so you would have to way it all out. I did what was cheapest for me!:thumbsup2

Ah yes, flipping gas!

I used to love to go to Kittery, it used to be nothing but a little sleepy town. Wehn we moved back there in 2003, it was so congested. ANd got even worse every year. But it is still the best place for Lobstahs!

And cheap, that is the rule for me!

I just love designer bags, they last for ever!!! I have mostly vintage Coach, and one LV bag. Not to jazzed on that one. but I did just buy saturday the new Coach Sabrina! It is more like the older vintage that I loved!!!

I have gotten so many complements on it!
It is very comfy to wear, and I know I will have it for over 15 years like my others that are in mint condition!

so if you add up all the cheap bags bought over the years, you could have bought 1 coach that will last forever! I am all about the all leather ones!

and I am getting the black patent leather in the Sabrina with the gold chains this week-end!
here is my new one!!

I love the shape of that bag! What is the name of that style? Of course I'll probably have to drive to Atlanta or order it as our town seems to focus on the flashy print ones instead of the more understated ones.

I don't spend a lot on handbags either. I like to switch them up too often to have thousands of$$ invested in them.

I do think the expensive bags are attractive (well, some of them) I just couldn't get myself to shell out that kind of money. Regardless of what I can afford there are some things that just aren't important enough to me to spend a lot on. But thats the key "important to me"--it is important to somone else, so more power to them; doesn't make them wrong or right. They may not think I should spend money on my Mickey Mouse collectibles. To each their own.

I will say this though; I have been married 20 years and have owned 3 purses in that time. The first one I bought at Sams for maybe $30. Several years later, I put it in the closet (not wore out, just tired of it. Its still there, in fact) and bought a $15 purse at Kmart. That one was stolen; so I bought the purse I have now for $20 at Walmart and am finally going to have to replace it because the strap broke. So, not counting the one that was stolen, I have spent $50 in 20 years for purses, and the first one is still in good condition! Not bad for cheap!
