Expensive Airfare

I am travelling from Boston to orlando on Nov. 29 (week after thanksgiving). The airfare prices are the highest I have ever seen. Is it because I am looking too early and should wait a few months, or is it because it is the week after thanksgiving? Any help is appreciated

Try the new Jetblue routes out of Providence. They just opened up and were $75 at one point.

With all the airline mergers and reductions in the number of flights, airfare is up pretty much everywhere. They learned fare wars are not profitable.

Just keep checking. They might still go down. We were going to drive from Richmond, VA to Orlando for our trip this September because airfare was in the $130+ range pp/each way and that was going to put us way overbudget but I checked jetblue just yesterday and found $89 tickets for our dates! Needless to say, I booked really fast!

In my search, airtran and jetblue seems to have the lowest fares. Just keep checking there. There's bound to be a sale sometime.

We are travelling mid-NOV and just bought our tickets a couple weeks ago. The prices had come down (seemed like there was a small "sale" going on). Could be the time you are travelling. Keep checking airline websites and good luck on finding a deal!

jetBlue out of Boston (not great times, you pay more for more convenient/popular flights):
11/24 flt 959
12/2 flt 950
$247.60 PP RT non-stop
AirTran has a slightly less expensive option, but you change planes and pay for seat selection & checked luggage.

Just checked 11/29 - 12/6 and 11/229 - 12/2. AirTran had several choices at $172 RT with one stop. That seems like a good value to me!

Thanks, CarolMN - I missed the date. And for just $9 more, the return flight a week later can be non-stop! Again, this doesn't include seat selection cost or checked luggage fee.

Fares on United dropped today. The one way flight I've been looking at for $323 is now $154!
