Universal's Revenge of the Mummy reaches rider milestone

Expedtion Everest is one of my son's and I's favorite attraction. Mummy is good, but my vote is EE on this one.

This is probably the tightest vote for me. I really enjoy both attractions. EE has the height and excellent theming around the whole area. Both have great queue lines as well. While EE has the better backwards section and the big drop, for me I feel Mummy edges it out with theming on the ride itself. I really enjoy the dark ride portion at the beginning and the false station, plus a more intense ride experience. Both are great rides though.

Everest. Hands down. Excellent coaster. Even with the yeti being in B mode. Just wish they’d clean those ding dang hair ties off every so often lol.

All due respect to Brendan Fraser and the mummy franchise which I adore and I’m so happy the ride got a much needed refurb: I am short. And I felt too big for mummy. Like I kept feeling I was gonna hit my head. And I love indoor coasters like that even though I have to know where I’m going but at least mummy has fire and effects that I can see the track. I have a similar issue with space mountain between height and not seeing stuff.

Dunno if this helps. There is something called “the cone of safety” on all coasters.

They have all possible colllisions objects well over 6 foot away from the entire “bubble” around the coaster.

It may now SEEM like it, but it is. I am 6ft, and I stretch my arms as far out and to the sides as I can for fun, never hit anything and never will……

So I have never heard about this until now and my dad is 6’2” so this makes sense why on some things he doesn’t feel like I do.

I used to think it was an in the dark thing but I do coasters at various parks in the dark and I’m fine! I do want to try Mummy again but I’m never getting on space mountain again lol

I do feel like the indoor coasters where it is darker do feel closer for some reason. I'm 6'3 now and even as a kid Space Mountain's clearance scared me, even though I knew it was fine. Rode through it once with the lights on and it felt so much roomier than when the lights are out.

Space Mountain uses lighting and shadows to make you feel like certain struts and bars are closer ….

They also have certain areas where a false lighted path exists, to fool you into thinking you’re going to turn a certain way….meanwhile your turn unto the shadow area.

Thunder mountain is like that for me. I am 5'3 and I always feel like I am going to hit my head. So, I always duck, like an idiot. :-)
