EE is taller, faster, has a single "big drop" (in comparison to BTMRR), and the backwards portion is fairly intense for some people. It is a very smooth ride - I don't think it feels jerky at all, and the G-forces aren't overpowering even at their highest points, including during the backwards helix. Personally, I think it's a fun and mildly thrilling ride that most people without existing motion sickness problems can enjoy. I'd say give it a shot, and if you hate it, don't go again.

If you ever visit Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey, ride El Toro and Nitro, and you might rethink your judging system afterwards. Both have lap restraints, neither is particularly tame (although El Toro is the crazier of the two, IMO) - there are also launched and looping coasters at other parks with just lap restraints. OTSRs are falling out of favor when not absolutely necessary, because coaster enthusiasts don't like them and they scare 'general audiences.'
