Expedition Everest Challenge May 5 @ 9:30 2012

You girlz iz funny!!!!:banana::rotfl2: However, this past weekend, on Easter no less, I was informed by my wife that she HAD to have new running stuff if she was going to do this. Off to the Nike outlet we went. She ended up finding a Nike maximum support running bra. I have no idea if it's worth a darn or not, but she looks good wearing it!

Got three more miles in tonight! I'm getting back into it! Got all the dining reservations made, lodging, airfare etc. So ready!!!! I'm also thinking seriously about signing up for the WDW 2013 Marathon!

:lmao: New gear is a great motivator...whenever I get in a running funk (usually by mid-summer, when we've hit 100+ degrees for a couple of weeks straight!) a new running outfit or shoes or whatever always picks me up. It's weird and may be more of a female thing, who knows, but it works!

I am so totally bummed. :sad2:

I went to Dick's to try on some sports bras. And boy, did I ever! I tried on Champion, Underarmer, Nike, Adidas, and the popular Moving Comfort. I tried on about 15 of them, but I had absolutely no luck. Some of them did fit (barely), but they felt way too tight when I had them on. And then there was trying to get them off after I had put them on. If they had an illegal camera in that fitting room, I'm sure the video is on You Tube by now.

Picture it: a heavier woman, bent over, trying to pull this thing off of her, somehow thinking it will help to back up or thrash about like a dog trying to get a cone off their neck. Yes, it looked just like that.

I also stopped by Kohl's, just to see what was there. At least the Tek Gear stuff was easier to put on/take off, but it offered no support whatsoever.

I hat buying stuff like this online, because I'm obviously so hard to fit. I don't think I'm morbidly obese or anything. I wear a size 16-18 pants and a 1X up top. I don't understand why I can't find a GOOD sports bra in a store that fits!!

Okay, now that I'm done venting, let's go back and picture me trying to get one of those things off again. :rotfl2:

I know the feeling, I can never get in and out of those bras. I wear Enell because it closes in the front and I don't have to dislocate a shoulder to get in and out of it:)

Have you tried Road Runner Sports?

As I am sitting in class, a girl in front of my hands me a piece of paper with this website written on it. How ironic that I just looked at their website before coming back to the Dis! (Can you tell I'm paying real close attention in class???)

It seems like the best fitting ones for me will be from Champion. I probably feel most comfortable buying one of those online, since most of those fit me when I tired them on. I just don't like the idea of dropping $50-$70 for a bra that I'm not too sure will fit.

Another option would be to go to a specialty store in Atlanta called Intimacy. They will professionally fit me, which I'm wondering might be the problem, that I'm wearing the wrong size to begin with. I'm guessing their sports bras will be somewhere in that price range, but at least I would know that it fits!

In other news...I'm starting my allergy shots tomorrow! :cheer2: No, it's not going to help me anytime soon and I'll probably still be chained to the treadmill for a while, but maybe it can give me some relief by the end of the year.

Oh the joys of trying on the sports bra....lets hope they don't have a camera in the Dick's Sporting Goods store where I was trying them on for the first time...not pretty!!!

So proud of all of you with your great run times - you are all gonna pass me on the trek!!
So - I definately think we should have a meet up at the party - or even before the race and everyone is in their corrals!

My mom has been trying to get me to go to Intamacy for awhile now. they are a bit pricey, so I have been holding off.
Where are you going for your allergy shots? I used to go to the Atlanta Allergy Clinic - great thing. Took awhile, but I don't get bronchitis twice a year anymore - knock on wood!!!

Did you try the Juno?? I know you said you tried moving comfort but the Juno is a really great one! I found it difficult in the change room too but the more you wear them they do tend to loosen up so you really wouldn't want something that was loose to start with. Make sure you look at their fitting info on the website though and take your measurements before going in and tryiing any on. You definitely need to know your measurements. The Juno is so great b/c the back comes undone and the straps come undone so you are just slipping one portion over your head and then you do up the back closure and the straps (which just loop through the cup area and velcro shut with some amazingly powerful velcro). It takes a bit of practice but is worth it once you figure it out.

Even if we can't meet up at the event, maybe some of us could have a meet up some other time. DH and I will be there until the 10th, so if anyone else is spending a few extra days in the World, we would love to meet you!!

I was also going to mention that if anyone wants to friend me on Facebook, look me up! I think you can look up my screen name (KigerKat) or my real name, Carrie Kiger. I will admit that I am a FB junkie and I will probably be more likely to check that during our trip than the Dis.

I went to a specialty store here and got fitted. I bought 2 bras from them to start with - $250 for 2 bras  But worth it. They don't carry my size in the regular box stores. Now that I know my size, I order from www.freshpair.com. Still more expensive than regular stores, but way less than the specialty store. They have a fitting guide on the website I think, but have never used it to see if I get the same size through it. Most of mine are Panache brand.

Were still gonna try and meet up some time after the race though right?? and try for some pics??

did anyone figure out a good time for that?? What if we just pick 11pm? That is an hour and a half AFTER the first race time. If I don't get a ride on EE right away I'm ok with that. I'm fine witth going to do that while the awards are going on

So like 11 or 11:15ish?

We're not arriving until Saturday. Our usual routine is to drive down the day before and stay with my parents in Ocala for the night and then head over to Disney in the morning. Plus, we are buying annual passes this year and are going to try the discount ticket package/upgrade trick and I have no idea how long it's going to take us to get through all of that.

Oh, and to answer your earlier question, I'm doing my shots at the Allergy & Asthma Care Center in Braselton. It's literally 5 minutes from my house, so stopping by a couple of times a week shouldn't be a problem.

I hope so!! We'll be there until the end, so I know anytime would be good for us. In fact, we (actually, DH) are usually some of the last people in the parks. I'll usually get tired and ditch DH for some rest, and he tells me how the friendly cast members offer to walk him to the front of the park. He's a camera nut and loves getting night pictures of the parks and would seriously stay all night, if they let him.

He's meeting up with some of his online Disney photo friends that night, so I KNOW we'll be there late. Luckily, our neighbors will be down there competing with us, so I can always hang out with them if I get bored. Or GaRain, if I can find her!!

I am so up for meeting and 11pm sounds good. I SHOULD be done by then - LOL! Remember, I am a "brisk walker" and not a runner, but I will be with the singles and I think that corral goes first...I promise to stay to the right!

I am so excited! 3 weeks from today - Walt Disney World!!!:cool1:

Sounds good! Any thoughts on where? EE seems an obvious choice, but it's sooo hard to find people you already know there, let alone people you've never met! Thinking we need something very specific that doesn't attract a lot of traffic...

Maybe someone who has been there already can advise on a good place to meet. I'm not familiar with the layout enough to pick a spot - it's been 3 5 years since I was in WDW last. WOW - I can't beleive it's been that long!!! Plus someone that's been would know where it might be a bit more quiet and where there would be WAY too much trafic during the after party. I'm guessing the busyest spots would be around EE and in DinoLand right?? I wonder if there is a quiet little place between the two spots that would be ideal? I will have a look at a park map and google maps soon to see what I can see.

I don't believe they will be showing Finding Nemo - The Musical during the party. Perhaps the entrance to this show would be a good place to meet? We could take a picture at the bridge just past it with Everest in the background?! :scared1:

Funny - I had the same thought! :thumbsup2

I'm going to be there until the 11th. My schedule looks like:
5/6: DHS and MK
5/7: EP and DHS
5/8: AK and MK
5/9: EP
5/10: MK and DHS

If you happen to be in any of those parks at the same time, and I run into you, I'll be sure and wave hello!

My DH and I are runners, so we'll finish the race in (hopefully) a timely manner, but my mom is walking it, so I just wanna make sure her and everyone else has plenty of time to finish before we try and meet up for a picture.

I know last year I began at 8:50 (Wave 5) and crossed the finish line an hour and twenty minutes later...so 10:10pm. With the race being pushed back to 9:30, if I did it in the same time, that would mean I'd be done at 11:10...so I'm wondering if we should push the time back to 11:30/:confused3

That seems like a good place for a picture. If memory serves correctly, that area wasn't crowded last year.

Were you registered as a single runner and started in Wave 5? My sister and I are just registered as singles right now, but are wondering if we should form a team to make sure we start together at least. I thought all the singles started in the first Wave, but not sure if that is right or not.

I'm not sure if this place would be too remote (or even accessible), but the back porch/seating area at Flametree BBQ has a BEAUTIFUL view of EE. And at night, I'm sure it would be all lit up at night and make a great picture spot.
