I think the crowd increase will be minimal. What the opening of Expedition Everest will do is alleviate the throngs of people that head to the Safari. I think you'll see a distinct separation of two crowds; one group going left to Africa for the Safari and the other going right to Asia for Everest. If anything, it should help the crowd control (once the rope is dropped) at AK! JMO
I think that Animal Kingdom will see a large increase in attendance after Everest opens. However I would not expect to see the crowds at the other parks alleviated at all.
There is a reason for them putting this HUGE attraction in AK. I don't think Disney likes it when they hear that when planning you only need 1/2 a day to see AK. This is a deliberate attempt to boost attendence there. I think it is a great idea as AK is a little underappreciated and EE will bring it more notice.

Yes, you are right. And it's working! I can see multiple trips to AK and longer days there when EE opens. It's pretty easy to do everything we like to do in the park in 1/2 a day now, but not when that opens. So good decision, Disney!
Plus, AK is still small, there's room for more attractions to open.
