I found a 5 day Parkhopper pass for the proce of a 3 day pass on Expedia. Has anyone had any experieince buying tickets through them? Just wondering if there's a catch, if I'm missing something, etc. Otherwise, seems like a really good deal?

Marketing Hype!

They are selling a five day parkhopper at a discount. Compare it with other resellers; make sure you consider sales tax and shipping costs, as some of the resellers include therm in their quoted prices.

that is a great price isn't it? do they expire?

When I run the numbers on both sites (expedia & disney.com) I come up with a .01 (one cent) difference. I'd buy directly through Disney or another ticket broker recommended on mousesavers.com

Keep in mind that the way Disney ticket prices work, after the first three days, the incremental cost of additional days is only a few dollars a day. CheshireFigment is, of course, absolutely correct... it's mostly marketing hype.

The cheapest way for a memeber of the general public to get (non-promotional) tickets is via undercover tourist, using the link from the mousesavers newsletter.

I do realize the price only goes up slightly for each day that's added, clever marketing to be sure. Also, I want to be clear that I have used Undercover Tourist in the past, with no complaints at all.

With that said, I do realize I'm going against the grain here in recommending a provider who is not a sponsor here. However, since this IS the budget board I thought others may be interested in htis "deal" I stumbled across on Expedia. This isn't exacly "Al's Disney Tix R us." Expedia is one of the largest travel sites out there, so I have no problem using them if the deal is better. But is it? I just did a quick comparison, prices INCLUDE tax for a 5 day Parkhopper. Does NOT include "no expiration" since that's not needed for me personally:

Expedia: $305
Disney: $326
Undercover: $311

Since there's 10 in our group, a $60 savings isn't a ton, but it's something. Certainly much better than Doing directly through Disney. This may not work for everyone, the 5 day hopper just happens to work perfectly with our plans.

I just checked UT & an adult 5-day PH is $304.95, same as Expedia. Not sure where you saw $311. (Actually thru UT it's a 5+1 day for $304.95).

Are you using the UT link from the Mousesavers newsletter? You will get a few dollars more discount if purchasing through that link.

I believe that Expedia is completely reliable. I've certainly used them enough to know that. However I'm not sure if they are really less expensive than UT. Remember that UT's price includes taxes. Are you sure that Expedia's does?

Like someone else pointed out, the UT price that you listed is for the general public but if you were to use the Mousesavers newsletter link, it would be the same as Expedia's. The big difference would be that UT will send you actual tickets. Expedia gives you a voucher to print that you will have to redeem for your tickets. That means one extra step once you arrive at the park before you can enter the gate.

All things being equal, I would choose the actual tickets in my hands but I know that some people like the reassurance that they can reprint a voucher if they forgot to bring it with them when they packed.

In 2009 we bought our park tickets through Expedia, no issues. We will probably use them again this year.
