Expedia Bargain Fare or wait for SW?

I am tentatively pricing out an early June trip for 5 people. The airport closest to us never has great fares but we can drive 3 hrs to KC and save $300 on SW tix at that airport. However, I also priced things out on Expedia and came up with a "Bargain Fare" for KC so they won't show the details until I book. It's $300 less than SW at KC.

So my options are:

$900 - unknown Bargain fare from KC

$1200 - KC SW fares

We are definitely going to make the drive but I don't know if I should wait to see if SW comes down a bit or try an unknown. We like SW and the flexibility to change dates if needed without penalty.

Has anyone bought a Bargain fare? It shows flights can be any time of the day but then under the cities it shows "afternoon" on the departing flight & "anytime" for the returning flight. If that is the case, that would be perfect but still nervous about committing to an unknown.

Thanks for any advice!

I've never used Expedia's Bargin Fares. I have, however, tried to use Priceline but gave up. Priceline didn't give me the ability to select time or time range of the flight....just the date. Maybe they've changed since this was a few years ago.

Before buying a bargin fair, make sure you know what the conditions are.

Good Luck
