Funny you should ask, last week, they took us to the front desk to pay afterwards, last time they just left it outside the little room and we popped into the rainforest bit on the way out, I believe we should not have went in with hindsight but nobody would have stopped us, this time it would have looked a bit weird if we had walked back into spa after paying.

Our only issue was that the steam room was super, super hot - like molten lava hot - we got great advice to bring a lot of extra towels in - thank God!

It is very hot. Make sure you drink EXTRA WATER before you go. My husband got very light headed and almost passed out. Not exactly the effect I was looking for !!

So after reading all these great reviews I'm really thinking about doing this as a suprise for my DBF. We will be celebrating our 6 years so this might be perfect. But I'm having a hard time choosing between this or a dolphin swim in Cozumel. We've been on two DCL cruises and I've swam with dolphins back in 05' but he's never been. Which one do you think would be a better experience? We are college student so can't do both! I wish!! This would be def cheaper, as we are saving to buy a house late next year.

You might want to do a little research on dolphin swims in Mexico before you decide. The rasul treatment is wonderful! I would personally go for that!!

We did this on our most recent cruise for the first time, and I also got jewelry for the first time on this cruise.

They put glasses of water on the little table, inside, by the door- and we were thankful for that!

But it's too hot.

cons:
The shower wouldn't stay on but like 5 seconds it seemed. I know they heard us laughing outside the room because it totally cracked us up trying to clean off with a shower that kept turning off.

We were growing concerned at the amount of water on the floor about halfway thru our time... I thought we were flooding the place! Apparently the ship's movement was keeping the water from going down the drains. We just decided to not worry about it and slosh thru the water. LOL

the steam is TOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOT! It really is like molten lava in there. (in hindsight I did read one thread where someone said they forgot to tell them how to turn it off. Maybe that's what happened to us too? She told us the button to push if we wanted MORE steam but to check for temp before pushing that. We never touched it) The room was so hot I almost ran out screaming (burning feet) the first time we entered. Donned my slippers on and then I could walk in there but even hosing cold water on seats- everything was so hot I literally couldn't sit down for one second and could barely stand to be in there longer than maybe 30 sec-a minute. It's not like a sauna, it's like being in an oven where everything you touch can scald you. LOL It is ridiculously hot... I coulda got hurt in there! After a few attempts- we decided forget that room LOL

I'm pretty sure they speed up time while you're in there. That 40 min till the knock on the door went by AWFUL fast.

pros: too numerous to mention.

for us when we came out- they had us sit in a little alcove that had 2 seats and a table right outside to the right of the door.... and asked us if we wanted anything to drink- can't remember what all she said but I chose herbal tea, DH chose water. After a few minutes were escorted back to the changing areas. IDK if we could have done rainforest afterwards but we don't care one way or the other.
In hindsight the ONLY thing I'd do different is maybe booking it another time. We did it at 3:30pm and we were both so relaxed afterwards that we just wanted to sleep.. and had a hard time making it thru the rest of the evening. haha I don't know how late they let you book this though.

We loved it and DH asked me if we could book this every cruise.

I hate to put a damper on this... but... with all of the talk of "wink winks" etc., with the exotic rasul, for those of you who have done this experience, would you say it felt really clean in there? I really want to try this in a couple of weeks... however, the pictures on this thread looked a bit dingy and I am all for some romantic alone time with my DH, but not entirely thrilled about the idea that so many other couples have had "special time" in there as well.

We just got back from the Wonder on Sunday. We did the Exotic Rasul Saturday and were very impressed with the cleanliness of the space. The attendants do an excellent job of cleaning up between uses. All the products are well stocked and they even had roses on the bench next to the scrub and the mud. The champagne afterwards was a nice way to finish.

While my DH and I enjoyed this for the relaxing and skin treatments, it just wasn't a turn on...we did not enjoy it as a romantic experience. It was slightly EROTIC but the room is not in any way comfortable for this in our opinion and didn't use it for that. We did NOT feel however that is wasn't clean enough...it certainly was....and the dingyness you see in pictures is just the coloring of the cement/flooring. Just go with it...if you feel it, go for it. If not, enjoy anyway!!

Every surface is tile and I'm sure they bleach it down. Seemed very clean, both times we were in there.

We were so disappointed this was not available on the Dream. Was kind of hoping they'd change for the Fantasy, but doesn't sound like it. We are booked for the Magic this summer and cannot wait to enjoy this again!

We did this for the first time on the Magic in 2009, loved it. The scrubs and lotions they provided were awesome. We did it again in January and they had changed all the supplies that were offered in the room. I am sure it comes down to whoever they select as a vendor but we were just not as impressed with the supplies.

The showers in the room also never got real hot, luke warm at best. Plus you had to hold the button down to get a constant stream, and one of the showers didn't work.

We wouldn't do this again, it was great the first time, and just okay this time.

It can be relaxing. It can be naughty. It can be G-rated. It can be X-rated. It can be whatever you are interested in! With triplets, I'm sure you would enjoy some spa time!

You are taken to the locker rooms to undress and don robes that are provided by the spa (you can be nude underneath or wear a swimsuit). Then, an attendant escorts you to your own private "playground". This secluded, fully tiled private area is actually two small rooms...a shower/sitting area and a large hot steam room. The Cast Member shows you various bowls and bottles on a table, which include one or more types of mud that are intended to be applied to specific parts of the body to cleanse and nurture your skin. Now…this is where you can simply use your imagination and have more fun by making use of the mud as body paints, for instance. Many have said that they ended up in a fun mud fight, too. Afterall, where else can you throw mud and have someone else clean it up?! You will also have available to you salt or a tube of exfoliate and aromatherapy products such as massage oils, lotions, and gels. Shampoo and conditioner will also be provided, which you will likely need afterwards!

For the next hour, you are left alone, and as I said before, "make your own fun"! Depending on just how much fun you want to get into, you may want to bring some extra towels from the locker room. Towels will be provided in the room, but the tile is indeed hard so it's always nice to have some extra cushioning or protection from the hot tiles!

Technically, you are supposed to apply the mud as directed, then let it soak into your skin as you lounge in the steam room. You can finish by washing off with the aromatherapy products in the shower. Somehow, I don't think that things usually happen this way in this room! Realistically, you can pretty much do whatever you want.

You have an hour alone. The attendant will knock on the door with a "ten minute warning" as your session comes to a close. You don't have to open the door at this point. Simply knock back to acknowledge that you heard the signal. Be forewarned, however. I have seen several people post on the board that attendants ended up walking in on them at 20 or 10 minutes prior to your hour being up. So, you might try moving the little bench with all of the products on it in front of the door to prevent “accidental” guests! At least it would make some noise as they tried opening the door as the table scooted across the tiled floor.

I hope that helps explain it! Oh...I almost forgot. I believe up to 3 people can experience this spa experience together.
