Excuse me, you'll need to see security. What has Mickeystoontown done? Update 3/25x2

My daughter loves to do the pick-a-pearl. A couple of years ago, I bought her a Cinderella carriage enclosure pendant on ebay to hold her pearl. She loved it! Japan is also one of my favorite pavilions. I love that store!

Hmm, never actually thought about pick-a-pearl before, now you've got me considering it. One question -- What if you don't want to bow to the oyster? Or is the bow a form of greeting to the person opening the oyster?

Claire would be so jealous of your twins. When we did it awhile back she told me if my oyster had twins, we were trading. LOL.

I need to spend more time exploring the Japan pavilion. Putting it on the list!

Congrats on being a fabulous oyster picker! Twins! :thumbsup2

hi Lisa
Hope all is well!

WOW, 2 pearls!! that's awesome!! I have not done the pick-a-pearl...I might have to next time...can't wait to see a picture of your setting!

Wow! Two pearls. It's a good thing that lady didn't choose YOUR pearl. Could you have imagined?

Congratulations on your great catch!

Great job picking the oyster! Twins!

My DD did that last year qnd I kept telling her to pick an ugly one. She followed my advice and ended up getting an 8mm! They said it was the biggest one of the day. She wasn't sure which setting she wanted, so we just took it home.

We ended up taking it back to WDW with us in Nov to get it set. It was no problem because we kept it in the original bag and had all the paperwork.

I love Japan and all of the cool stuff there! And I really love Pick a Pearl!! I do the same thing...pick a big hairy guy and we have gotten twins pretty much every time!

YAY! You got twins!:thumbsup2

Sam got twins when we did it and it was a big surprise. Her were the same size, 6.5. I can't wait to see your setting!

Too bad about your computer virus, I'd like string up who ever creates those things!

I'll be back tomorrow with replies. The computer guy finally showed up at the office at a little after 4:00 today. He was able to remove the virus and updated our virus software all within an hour. (Gosh I hope that I said that right since I know absolutely nothing about computers. :confused3) Anyway, tomorrow morning, I can go into work and get caught up on the things that I had to put off due to having no computer. Thankfully, I don't have a ton stacked up.

Right now, I have to brag about the wonderful family that Lacey married into. Jesse's dad helps run a homless shelter and was interviewed on television today. The world needs thousands more like Mr. Spence!

What a nice FIL Lacey has! It's -20 degrees here tonight and I can't even imagine being out in that!:sad2:

Did the computer guy also show you how to update your virus software by yourself? Normally all it takes is a few clicks. With some anti-virus software you can set an option to update automatically.

BTW, I'm lovin' your TR! Keep all those wonderful pictures coming.

What a wonderful man Mychal is! The homeless population of Knoxville is lucky that KARM is there for them, and Lacey is lucky to have him as her FIL. Jesse seems like a great man too, from everything you have said, and you can tell he got at least some of that from his father!

Glad the tech got the computer sorted out. Good luck catching up with the work, glad it's not too much. :goodvibes

All caught up!!:thumbsup2

Great pictures in Living with the Land! Love that ride!:)

My boys got such a kick out of seeing the different kinds of soap in the gift shop in Canada.:rotfl:

Love your photopass pictures on the bridge in the World Showcase! They turned out so good!:goodvibes

Oohh...I really want to do Pick a Pearl someday! It's been on my must-do list every trip but for some reason always gets skipped.:confused3 Yay for getting twins!!:cool1:

I thought you were talking about an oyster with the "Big, hairy guy". At least, I hoped you were ;) :lmao: . I've never gotten twins, but last February when I did it I got 5 oysters (I was using them for gifts for my Mom, 2 sister and myself!), and I picked all hairy ones. I got 2 8mm silvers, 1 7.75mm Pink, 1 7.5mm Gold and a 7.5mm White. All big and an array of colors. :goodvibes

I love that you documented the whole process. I've only done it alone so I've never gotten any pictures of the process since it's hard to take them while doing everything.

Yep, I was talking about the big fat hairy oyster. :rotfl: Good golly! You picked 5 oysters? I thought picking one was stressful.

Fun update, Lisa. Every year I say I'm going to do the pick-a-pearl and always forget to do it once we are there.

I'm glad your "thinking" kept the woman from stealing your pearl. And how neat that you got two...and almost identical size.

Kathy, you really should do it. It's a very unique souvie.

Pick a Pearl has been on my list forever! How fun that you got twins!! I look forward to seeing your setting. :goodvibes

It's a neat thing to do and I bet that Henry would love to help you choose just the right oyster.

Twins, wow! That's great. :thumbsup2

Most people can't spend an hour in the Japanese pavilion. My set-daughter, however, is in love with everything Japan. I had to put a stop to it after 45 minutes and say she could come back later in the week. Otherwise she could have spent the entire evening there!

I love wandering around in the different World Showcase countries but 45 minutes in just one is a long time.

Loved the update Lisa! One of these days I'm going to do the Pick a Pearl thing. It looks like such fun, and a great souvenir! Maybe I'll wait until Maddie's old enough that we can do it together though. princess:

I love to poke around in the China and Japan pavilions-such cool stuff to see!

I bet that Maddie would like doing the pick a pearl. There were several settings that were budget friendly.

How has the carriage held up? I've heard some people say that they tarnished quickly and others rave about them. I thought about getting one for myself.

Excellent pearl-choosing skills!!! :thumbsup2

It's quite the talent! :lmao:

I have no clue what they would say if you didn't bow. I think that it's kind of odd but figured that I'd go with it.
