My daughter loves to do the pick-a-pearl. A couple of years ago, I bought her a Cinderella carriage enclosure pendant on ebay to hold her pearl. She loved it! Japan is also one of my favorite pavilions. I love that store!

Hmm, never actually thought about pick-a-pearl before, now you've got me considering it. One question -- What if you don't want to bow to the oyster? Or is the bow a form of greeting to the person opening the oyster?

Great job picking the oyster! Twins!

My DD did that last year qnd I kept telling her to pick an ugly one. She followed my advice and ended up getting an 8mm! They said it was the biggest one of the day. She wasn't sure which setting she wanted, so we just took it home.

We ended up taking it back to WDW with us in Nov to get it set. It was no problem because we kept it in the original bag and had all the paperwork.

I love Japan and all of the cool stuff there! And I really love Pick a Pearl!! I do the same thing...pick a big hairy guy and we have gotten twins pretty much every time!

I'll be back tomorrow with replies. The computer guy finally showed up at the office at a little after 4:00 today. He was able to remove the virus and updated our virus software all within an hour. (Gosh I hope that I said that right since I know absolutely nothing about computers. ) Anyway, tomorrow morning, I can go into work and get caught up on the things that I had to put off due to having no computer. Thankfully, I don't have a ton stacked up.

Right now, I have to brag about the wonderful family that Lacey married into. Jesse's dad helps run a homless shelter and was interviewed on television today. The world needs thousands more like Mr. Spence!

Did the computer guy also show you how to update your virus software by yourself? Normally all it takes is a few clicks. With some anti-virus software you can set an option to update automatically.

What a wonderful man Mychal is! The homeless population of Knoxville is lucky that KARM is there for them, and Lacey is lucky to have him as her FIL. Jesse seems like a great man too, from everything you have said, and you can tell he got at least some of that from his father!

Oohh...I really want to do Pick a Pearl someday! It's been on my must-do list every trip but for some reason always gets skipped. Yay for getting twins!!

I thought you were talking about an oyster with the "Big, hairy guy". At least, I hoped you were . I've never gotten twins, but last February when I did it I got 5 oysters (I was using them for gifts for my Mom, 2 sister and myself!), and I picked all hairy ones. I got 2 8mm silvers, 1 7.75mm Pink, 1 7.5mm Gold and a 7.5mm White. All big and an array of colors.

I love that you documented the whole process. I've only done it alone so I've never gotten any pictures of the process since it's hard to take them while doing everything.

Yep, I was talking about the big fat hairy oyster. Good golly! You picked 5 oysters? I thought picking one was stressful.

Fun update, Lisa. Every year I say I'm going to do the pick-a-pearl and always forget to do it once we are there.

Most people can't spend an hour in the Japanese pavilion. My set-daughter, however, is in love with everything Japan. I had to put a stop to it after 45 minutes and say she could come back later in the week. Otherwise she could have spent the entire evening there!

I love wandering around in the different World Showcase countries but 45 minutes in just one is a long time.

Loved the update Lisa! One of these days I'm going to do the Pick a Pearl thing. It looks like such fun, and a great souvenir! Maybe I'll wait until Maddie's old enough that we can do it together though.
