Exchanging Old Tickets

Hello! I am going to Disney next year and my mom gave me two children's and two adult tickets from 1997 that still had one day left on them. I want to exchange them but I have some questions. I tried calling Guest Relations but I couldn't understand the lady on the phone and she didn't answer my questions because I don't think she understood me! Here are my questions:
  • Do I exchange them ahead of time or when I arrive in the park?
  • Three of the tickets were for my brother and my parents. I am the only one going back so will I be able to use them on myself and my boyfriend?
  • They are park hopper tickets so will I be able to use them at Hollywood Studios and AK since those parks didn't exist in 1997?
I had some more questions but my mind is drawing a blank so I will post them later. Thanks for y'alls help!

1. Go to any ticket booth or Guest Relations outside any park, or at TTC, or at Disney Springs.
2. Well... yes. (But, that is kind of a gray area regarding ticket rules.)
3. You can use them at all WDW theme parks.

I am concerned about not being able to use the tickets. It's under the same last name except that my mom purchased them and we decided to go to Sea World on the last day so we have the extra day. I might try calling them to double check because I don't want to show up and not be able to use them. I'd like to figure that out beforehand.

Don't worry about it.
You will be able to exchange and use the tickets.

Do NOT call anyone "at WDW."
The answer you get from a "phone CM" stands a better than 50% chance of being wrong.
(No, I'm not kidding.)

lol That's why I asked up here. I think I can get a better answer up here. I did call and the call went in circles. The lady didn't speak English very well and didn't understand my very straightforward questions. She was very quick to end the call and hang up before I was finished.

Another question, there are prices on the back of the tickets that we paid back then. Will we have to pay the difference for the ticket change since tickets cost more than they did in 1997?

1. Yup.
2. Nope.
You can use an old ticket for its remaining asset(s.)
You cannot alter or upgrade it, however.

Hello!
Same thing here! My old tickets are the plastic cards. I have regular park hopper days plus waterpark and Disney Quest still left.
I am going back this June and was wanting to link these tickets to my magic band and get them in the system so I can choose my Fast Passes.
How do I do that?

What year did you buy them because I heard that if they are bought after 2004, you can't exchange them and they expire. Don't quote me on that though.

They were originally paper non-expiration park hopper tickets. And when Disney converted over to plastic tickets I had the paper days/experiences transferred to plastic ticket.
So I'm just not sure. Disney told me to e-mail copies of my tickets to ticket.useage @Disneyworld.com and wait 5-7 days for reply but that e-mail address doesn't work even though a CM insist that it works and must be my problem.
UGH. I hate the though of missing out on fast passes with my family.

They told me to do that too on the phone. That's the only thing I could understand from the person I talked to. It didn't seem very legit to me.

I apparently can not spell! The e-mail address is "Ticket.Usage@Disneyworld.com" I did send in copies of my tickets and received an e-mail back saying they have received my request and will get back with me :)

Do a search "Everything About WDW Tickets"

Lots of Good Information.

Okay! I will search. Just trying to gather info before I do anything. I am talking to a Triple AAA agent tomorrow so I will ask him if he knows anything about exchanging tickets too.

Good Luck! I also have a child's ticket and no child any more

That is VERY common (of course,) as kids have the habit of growing up. ;)

If the ticket has been partially used (as in, it has what's left of a non-expiring ticket) all you have to do is take that child's ticket, AND the (former) child to any ticket booth or guest relations and the CM will issue a new "adult" ticket with the same assets… all at NO CHARGE.

If the child's ticket has never been used…
THAT is a different story.
Take it to any ticket booth or guest relations and the CM will issue a new "adult" ticket with the same assets…
but you must pay the difference between what you originally paid for that child's ticket and the current cost
of an adult ticket with the the same assets.

I was able to go to My Disney Experience and load my tickets with no problem! Just to the left in blue click on older tickets and put in the ticket id# and it worked!
Though I don't think I really have the entire 10 days left on my ticket, but I can't get it to tell me how many days are remaining!

That is incorrect.

It is not legitimate.

It is bad info.

Right from the Disney call center too. I thought it was weird....
I've heard of My Disney Experience. Robo, do you know if that is legit to exchange my tickets on there?
