I found it--but like I said, it's not a true recipe.
SPAGHETTI SAUCE
10 cans (28 ounce) of crushed tomatoes
5 cans (6 ounce) of tomato paste
10 cloves garlic
Salt
Pepper
Cinnamon
Basil
Oregano
Open cans and empty contents into large pot that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Simmer for ½ hr, and then add salt, pepper, garlic, cinnamon, basil and oregano. Allow mixture to cook for 1 hr. Then add the paste and cook for 1 more hr. Stir every ½ hr. Add cooked meatballs and cook for 1 ½ to 2 hrs. more.
MEATBALLS
3 lbs. beef
Salt
Pepper
Garlic
Parsley flakes
Bread crumbs
Worchester sauce
Parmesan cheese
Water
Mix all ingredients together. Shape into balls and bake in 400 degree oven until well browned.
I usually use a lot of garlic, lots of oregano & basil. I just put a small amount of cinnamon. I like the way cinnamon just adds a little 'warmth' to the sauce. I don't put sugar in it, I just cook it a long time, and that cuts any acidity. I think that's why I don't like jarred sauce--they just taste too sweet to me. I also bake the sausages, they take about an hour in the oven. I prefer to bake the meat--I don't have to stand there cooking them. I do turn the meat ever 15 minutes.
