I have had a Jamba juice in Cali, there's one in Boston out by Boston University. I'd have to make a special trip on the subway to get there, I haven't really had a reason to do that.

Did I mention I'll be in Disney in two weeks? Then I'll be having lots of tasty treats!

I didn't know that. Have a great time there :).

I love Starbucks Cafe Mocha, otherwise when it comes to beverages of the booze kind, I like a lemon liquer that is excellent when poured into Coke or ice tea. Gives the drinks a nice lemony flavour. Have a great day!!

alcoholic favorites would probably be amaretto on the rocks or limoncello, but really I like so many different drinks it is difficult to choose. Non alcoholic drink would be water, or hot tea/hot coffee...:thumbsup2

My favorite type of popcorn is sour cream, and my least would be anything like jalepeno or something exotic tasting.

We are having spagetthi tonight with meat sauce. But, my daughter does not like marinara sauce, so I will make her butter, and cheese noodles.

So, today's QOTD is-
What type of sauce do you like on your spagetthi, or dislike?

I grew up with marinara and meat sauce on my spaghetti, but DH grew up with just plain marinara sauce so that is what we do now (he has food issues, difficult to get him to try new stuff lol though he is improving after nearly 18 years!). I actually like to have my spaghetti noodles plain with melted butter too, sometimes herbs mixed in. :flower3:

I like my homemade sauce on spaghetti. If I'm lazy or tired, I like Ragu marinara. Sometimes I add chopped meat to it, sometimes not. My son likes only butter on his pasta sometimes!

I'm a food snob--only my homemade sauce on my pasta! I make a big batch, freeze it in containers with enough for a dinner & some leftover, then just defrost it when needed. I make enough to last us for 3 or 4 months. I make meat & marinara sauce (in separate pots). I make meatballs & sausages in my meat sauce. We'll use the marinara sauce for pizza, add pork chops or shrimp, or make chicken parm with it.

Sounds yummy.

Happy New Year!!! Hope everyone had a safe, and fun New Years Eve. Today's QOTD is-

What is your 2009 New Years resolution?

Hey everybody! I'm back!

Did you get gifts for someone you didn't like? :rotfl:
:) Carol is going there next year so I bought her a hoodie for Christmas. How was your trip?

Hope everyone had a great Christmas. So since Christmas is now over, what would you have done differently if any in preperation for the next Christmas?
Began preparing for the trip a day or two earlier. Done a little research on how to ride the Metra train into Chicago and the trolleys.

Did anyone go shopping the day after Christmas for any Christmas specials/clearance items?
We had some time to kill on our vacation so took Carol and her friend that went with us shopping to a mall nearby. I bought a $30 shirt for Joe for only $10.

Are there any new t.v. shows that you are looking forward to watching?
Oh, a couple. The Bachelor, the one where the players are judged on their character and not their beauty, possibly American Idol, Amazing Race (if it's coming on) and Survivor. Most of those are not really new but are starting new seasons.

What are your most favorite drinks-alcoholic, and non-alcoholic?
I like Coke or Root Beer and an occasional marguarita.

Did I mention I'll be in Disney in two weeks?
Waah! Everyone seems to be going there but me!!

What type of popcorn do you like the best, and least?
Just plain ole popcorn with butter and salt. The least? Most any popcorn that's dressed up with stuff.

What type of sauce do you like on your spagetthi, or dislike?
Marinara.

I'm a food snob--only my homemade sauce on my pasta!
Would you give us the recipe? I'm always looking for a good one.

What is your 2009 New Years resolution?
To not make one! :thumbsup2

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!party:

Wow, lol. If I go all the way back to when we were young then DH and I have owned 10! (DH is a technogeek so it is all about the new hotness in computers lol ;) )

I'll try to find my 'recipe', I really don't have one. It was handed down to me by my mom but I've written stuff down so I can share it with people.

I found it--but like I said, it's not a true recipe.

SPAGHETTI SAUCE

10 cans (28 ounce) of crushed tomatoes
5 cans (6 ounce) of tomato paste
10 cloves garlic
Salt
Pepper
Cinnamon
Basil
Oregano

Open cans and empty contents into large pot that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Simmer for ½ hr, and then add salt, pepper, garlic, cinnamon, basil and oregano. Allow mixture to cook for 1 hr. Then add the paste and cook for 1 more hr. Stir every ½ hr. Add cooked meatballs and cook for 1 ½ to 2 hrs. more.

MEATBALLS

3 lbs. beef
Salt
Pepper
Garlic
Parsley flakes
Bread crumbs
Worchester sauce
Parmesan cheese
Water

Mix all ingredients together. Shape into balls and bake in 400 degree oven until well browned.

I usually use a lot of garlic, lots of oregano & basil. I just put a small amount of cinnamon. I like the way cinnamon just adds a little 'warmth' to the sauce. I don't put sugar in it, I just cook it a long time, and that cuts any acidity. I think that's why I don't like jarred sauce--they just taste too sweet to me. I also bake the sausages, they take about an hour in the oven. I prefer to bake the meat--I don't have to stand there cooking them. I do turn the meat ever 15 minutes.
