We use 1% in our house! And with 2 teenage boys I really should have my own cow!!!:confused3:rotfl:

Trish I hope your feeling better and your finger heals soon!:flower3:

I used to be the same way when it came to our milk consumption dzee, until DH and my younger DS were diagnosed with severe dairy allergies last year. Used to go through a gallon of milk a day. Now we're lucky if we go through a gallon every 2 weeks. As for the cracked finger, I'm lucky that I didn't break it, and it's just @##@))(*^ frustrating when I trying to type or doing things:mad:. I just have to start doing things differently until it heals. I'm not one to let various broken body parts slow me down, and this is the first bone I've managed to break or crack any other bones other than my toes, which I seem to break at least on a year in some way or another. I'm a klutz what can I say. It's going to make the move a little trickier that's all. Thanks for your good wishes!

Trish

Glad to hear that some one else needed a dairy farm besides me!!;) One of my son's friends has dairy allergies and I remember when we used to take them out for pizza he would have to take some medication just so he could have the mozzarella cheese!:sad1: Can they have pizza or anything with dairy if they take medication first?
I feel for your DH and DS especially DH since he could have dairy for so long and then all of a sudden be allergic!! :sad2: But from what I understand they have some great products out now that are dairy free! :thumbsup2
Just be sure to be careful moving Trish and keep that finger safe!!;)
By the way which one was it.......;)

Both DH and younger DS can have dairy once and a while and are fine, but can no longer have it on a regular basis anymore. I've had to learn how to bake without dairy products and have adapted many recipes to be dairy free. DS likes the better quality soy milk, but limit it to 2 cups a day so that he won't become allergic to soy products. I cracked my wedding ring finger yesterday while dismantling a shelf in the new house. I had taken all the screws out of if, but it wouldn't come off the wall, when suddenly it came down without warning, and smashed into my left hand as I was trying to "catch" it. Did I also mention that I'm left handed? GRUMBLE GRUMBLE GRUMBLE!! DH had a splint I could use to keep it immobile, but it's wreaking havoc with my typing skills. My doc is going to give me a heckling when I see him next, as it will not be the first time I've shown up at his office with an unrelated health problem, only to see one of my toes wrapped again. Have I mentioned that I'm a klutz?? Have a great evening!

(Sorry, sometimes the thread goes wierd on me, and double posts)

I think that's great that you have adapted your recipes to be dairy free!! :thumbsup2 You must be a great cook to do that!!;) It must be a graet treat for them though to be able to have dairy once in a while!! If they drink or eat soy too often can they be come intolerant to that too?
It's always the unexpected things that happen and us trying to intervene that seem to cause the most damage!! :confused3 Thank goodness it wasn't your head under the self as it fell! or heaven forbid;children! Not that falling on your hand and cracking the bone in your finger on the hand you use isn't bad enough, but the head ....ouch!!:scared1:
By the way you are doing great with your typing!!;) :surfweb:

Mine would have to be the theme song from Friends.

Cheers is the first one that comes to mind, followed by The Brady Bunch. I'm sure that there are others that I like. The Adams Family too. Also Gilligan's Island.

Gilligans Island. Donna both my DS and younger DS both became allergic to dairy as they drank large quantities of it for a very long time. Was told by the allergist that if you over use an product over time you may become allergic to it. I keep DS soy milk down to 2 or 3 cups a day so that over time he will not become allergic to it. I've had to adapt many of my recipes to using soy milk, and have find that it works just as well as dairy, and you can't tell the difference. Have a great day everyone!

If you were to prepare a fondue at your house, what type would you have, and what ingredients would you choose to dip?

Ex. Chocolate fondue-bananas, strawberries, pound cake, marshmallows, pretzel rods, cookies....?

I managed to crack a bone in my ring finger yesterday, and will be having it in a splint for the next month or so till it heals. It's really annoying to type with. Have a great day everyone!

Trish

Sorry to hear about your finger! Hope it heals soon.

And with 2 teenage boys I really should have my own cow!!!:confused3:rotfl:

I'm almost there --3 boys 9. 12. 13. They go through almost a gallon a day!

If you were to prepare a fondue at your house, what type would you have, and what ingredients would you choose to dip??

We do chocolate a lot as a desssert. We dip fruit, pound cake, marshmallows and rice krispy treats.

We do cheese fondue, too, sometimes. Dip different breads, apples, veggies, small meatballs, kielbasa, hotdogs.

Lynne can I come to your house for fondue? :confused3:laughing: It all sounds so great!!:thumbsup2
We had friends for dinner last night and we had bananas and strawberries that we were going to dip in chocolate for dessert! That's everyone"s fave in this house!! But our friends brought authentic Italian pastry from an incredible North End of Boston (little Italy, also has incredible Italian restaurants!) bakery!!:scared1::laughing: So the fondue went bye-bye!!:confused3:laughing: I do have to admit the pastry was sooo good though didn't mind giving up the fondue!;):rotfl:
We like cheese fondue too especially with a nice crusty sourdough bread! Yummy!:rotfl:

Just a quick question! We are planning a trip in April and we were discussing where the four adults should go for a grown-ups only dinner and we came to the California Grill. They are HUGE wine fans and we know that the CG has a great selection!!
So I was wondering what other restaurants had a great wine selection!?!!:confused3

What about Narcoossee's?

And if you do go there, say hi to Tom for me...I went to college with him, he's a riot.

The Yachtsmans Steakhouse also has a great wine selection (I love relaxing in the wine bar next to it after a long day in the parks!)

QOTD: I would have a chocolate fondu with strawberries, marshmellow, pineapple and cherries.

I'm sorry Lynne!!:sad1::flower3: So I don't have to tell you about the North end!!;) I could make up a care package and send you some good ole Italian pastry though!;):thumbsup2 You mean to tell me you can't get good Italian pastry in Amish Country.........:confused3;):rotfl:
As far as Narcoossee's is it a great place to eat? In the 13 yrs we have been going down to WDW(sometimes 3 times a year!:sad2::scared1:Who says we are addicted!:scared1::laughing:) we have never eaten there! We have talked about it but just have never done it!:confused3

Thanks Dana uk! I have been to the Yachtman's Steakhouse but to tell the truth I never noticed the wine bar!!:scared1: How could I have missed it!!??:confused3:laughing: I will definitely try it next time!! :thumbsup2:cool1:Thanks for the tip!!:flower3:;)
