We make the graham cracker on pint cartons in Kindergarten. So this year was my second house to make. We don't do them at home. The boys spend all of the Christmas vacation at the ILs, so no one is here to appreciate it.

We are ready for Christmas, I guess. All the needed presents are bought & mailed on to new homes. But the anticipation isn't here this year. :confused3 Not sure why.

I am volunteering in my daughter's classroom tomorrow. They are making sugar plum houses-(gingerbread houses).

When you were a child did you make gingerbread houses? Did you make them with your kids? How about gingerbread men?

We've made them with graham crackers. This year I got a cookie cutter set for a house and stand up gingerbread men and trees! It seems like good idea on paper....but after they baked they puffed a bit and didn't fit. I have to try my other recipe that is too hard to eat..that might work!

I made gingerbread men and gbread mickeys for the kids' school parties tomorrw.

Christmas is just a few days away. Are you prepared? How have you been feeling this Christmas season?

I keep thinking I'm done....but then remember something! I hate that. I'll be at Target this morning. This year is a tough one with my sister gone. We're trying to all do things differently, hoping that will help. My parents will come here instead of all of us meeting at their house.

Done...we are celebrating a bit early this year. Tomorrow is Christmas Eve for us.
DD is visiting and leaves Sunday.
We are goint to do the gingerbread house today.

Christmas is just a few days away. Are you prepared? How have you been feeling this Christmas season?

I am 100% ready and have been for a while. All presents are bought, wrapped and shipped if needed. All decorating is done. I just buy my Christmas cookies from the Amish. Much easier and we get a variety without being inundated with a zillion cookies.

I am going out shopping with my GF after lunch. She is one of those people that as soon as everything is going in the right direction she is hit with a huge detour. This year was no exception, so she has all of her shopping to do. I am driving her. She only needs a couple of gift, one being a computer, so we should be able to finish today.

Pretty much prepared. We have the Lambe Christmas on Saturday and then spending Christmas Day with my folks. I've been feeling pretty good, not stressed at all. We shall see how Saturday goes. This will be the first Christmas since my MIL passed away.

I've got the decorating and the baking done...the wrapping is a whole different story!! I have to wrap presents in my bedroom because there is no where else to do it in secret. Let me tell you wrapping presents on a bed is not fun!!

I'm feeling rushed this Christmas. It feels like I haven't had anytime to sit and enjoy my tree or Christmas movies. I plan to do things differently next year, I just don't know what:confused3

At what age did you find out that Santa was not real? How did it make you feel?

I think I was 6 years old, but I tricked myself into not really believing what I saw for another few years.

I had asked Santa for a toy piano when I was 6 and Christmas eve night I heard rustling out in the living room and peeked out there only to find my mother setting up a little black toy grand piano with a bench seat. I was so excited I could hardly sleep. Then in the morning it said it was from SANTA. I sort of knew then, but didn't want to know.

Have you seen any television Christmas specials? Are there certain ones that you watch each year?

Well, since DD has been here we have been watching a lot of Lifetime Christmas movies.
I usually just watch DVDs that I have. Always must watch A Christmas Story, Jingle All the Way, Polar Express, Miracle on 34th St, The Santa Clause ones....3 now, Home Alone....2 of them, Christmas Vacation, at least one of the Christmas Carols, Muppet Christmas....and I am sure there are more.

What type of Christmas cards did you send out this year?
I sent out Christmas letters with photos interspersed among the words to friends and family. The only ones that received cards were those that I see on a regular basis and don't need to be caught up with all the goings on in our family.

You mean he's not real???

This is the first year that I haven't sat down to watch a Christmas special up till now. I've just been too busy! But we are going to watch Santa Clause 2 tonight. I did get to go to hear the Dallas Symphony Orchestra Tuesday night. They were great! If that couldn't put anyone in the Christmas spirit, then nothing can.

As a child, watching Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer was a must see. Now we like to watch Miracle on 34th street (old and new), It's a Wonderful Life, The Santa Clause and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Carol likes to watch The Grinch also.

Our gathering for the Lambe Christmas went well yesterday. We had barbeque beef and sausage with all the trimmings. Our Yankee Christmas was fun as usual. You never know what the hot items will be each year. On the edge, you could feel someone was missing but we got through it. My MIL's birthday is Jan. 2nd. She would have been 88.

We have not had time to watch the specials on regular TV. I bought the boxed set that has Rudolph, Frosty, and 4 more specials to watch. There will be a marathon tonight. :)
