Yes and no. Sometimes there's a bit leftover and it gets eaten for lunch the next day since DH works from home when he's not travelling. Or the kids will eat their favorites a second time. But I try to make it so there isn't much because I can't eat the same thing 3 days in a row.
Some things I make tons of so I can freeze--soups, sauce, chili
As a child, what was your most favorite game to play that did not involve any store bought items with the exception of jump ropes, balls, and those simple items.
We had a gravel driveway and would make roads in it.
We liked to play swinging statues and hide and seek.
We would go out in the field behind the houses across the street and play out there. It had dirt terraces so it must have been planted with something at one time. Some of the kids in the neighborhood dug out a large section and made a place to play that, sort of like a buffalo wallow but sideways instead of up and down.
We liked to climb up on top of our friend's detached garage and jump off.
We liked to walk to the park and play, not on the playground but back in the wild part where the creek was and footpaths. Wouldn't be safe to do it today.
Other things we liked to do with some store bought items was to ride our bikes for miles and miles.
We liked to play kickball.
We liked to play in our playhouse. My dad also would make us an igloo out of plastic sheeting and some kind of thin flexible wood. It was tall enough inside for us to easily walk around. We loved it! We'd hang up old drapes inside to make rooms. And everytime there was a storm it would end up in someone elses backyard. And he would make another one.
Hmm probably ride my bike up and downt the street. We all liked to play hide and seek and follow the leader. We also played house A LOT. We didn't really play with jump ropes or balls or any of that. In the summer we liked to go swimming in the lake or play in the sand.
The nice outdoor weather will soon be approaching, or it has in my area. So, what sort of things do you like to grill? What sort of foods do like to take on a picnic?
