If you were to serve butter pound cake with side toppings, what would you choose? Ex. whipped cream, fruit puree....?

Strawberries and whipped cream.

What Kirby said.. or melted chocolate and do a fun fondue type thing, or drizzle it over, would also be good with strawberries and chocolate! any fruit really :)

My daughter came up with today's QOTD-

What is your most favorite Christmas present that you had received?

Good one Shayla!

Well, my most favorite gift from Joe was one he gave me a long time ago before we had kids. He bought me a bottle of perfume. Now this might not seem like much but if you really knew him, you would know that it was. He really needs help when it comes to thinking of gifts. :rotfl: Anyway, he actually went to the store all by himself without any coaching or hints or help and smelled the perfumes until he found one that he liked. It was a big surprise and fortunately, I liked it too. I don't wear perfume anymore but that was my most favorite gift of all time.

Awww that was nice of your husband.

Ok.. I had to answer this one, even late! My dad, back when I was in like 4th grade or something, got me a bb gun even though my mom said no. He said that girls should be able to have the same things that boys had even when their mom's said no. He went out and bought the gun without my mom knowing, wrapped it up and stuck it under the tree Christmas night. :woohoo: I was so excited when I opened it up! It was like the movie "A Christmas Story". I still have that little bb gun and it means the world to me since my dad died when I was 17.

We make sugar cookies (sorry family recipe my DH won't let me share- and they rock!!! All pouffy and airy), choc chip (back of the bag kids!) and sometimes ginger snaps. Yummy! I do have that recipe somewhere..... :goodvibes

Lots of cookie baking here.

Always: Chocolate cherry, sugar, orange cut outs, oatmeal cranberry, gingersnaps....those are the kids favorites and then usually 4-5 more.....new ones for us to try out.
And always fudge.

Shortbread, sugar cookies, chocolate chip, and whatever I feel like baking at the time. And sugar free goodies for myself, and all cookies with the exception of the shortbread, dairy free.

Recipes, recipes, recipes :).

My all time favorite is chocolate chip-even when it has those yummy crunchy potato chips in them. But growing up, I enjoyed the thumbprint cookies that my aunty used to make.

Customer service departments/associates.

Huh, I had to just deal with three people from Sports Authority regarding a warranty that my husband had on a golf net. PITA I tell you for the first two. The third was a local call to our store, and the manager said to bring in the product along with the reciept. Geeeessshhhh we are not trying to rip the company off, but they just wouldn't pay for the postage on sending back the product, and it would cost us an arm and a leg to send it in. I hate receiving mislead information!!!!!!!!!!:headache::sad2:

So today's QOTD is-
What companies have you had good, and bad customer service from? Did you ever purchase a warranty, and have problems getting a replacement or refund back?

If I get bad customer service -- I am a letter writer. And often that has brought results, from home building stores to insurance companies.
Want an insurance company's attention, write to the state insurance board, and send a copy to the ins co. It will be resolved instantly, from my experience.
Once all I had to do was say I was going to write a letter to the state board, and somehow they managed to find the capability to resolve it immediately where they had drug along for months.
When we need appliances for the house we generally go to Appliance Direct. There, I buy the extended warranty. That is due to all the money I saved buying from them in the first place.

Recently I had great customer service, that I did not expect.
I had been eye-ing the iRobot Roomba and Scooba's for awhile.
I read a blog that suggested buying a reconditioned Scooba direct on the web from iRobot.
It was half the price ($200), free shipping. 90 day warranty, rather than 1 year.
First time I used it, the brushes did not pop out for rinsing. I called iRobot (just expecting some tips or suggestions).
I was put on hold. When the rep came back she said for my to keep the accessories, but they were mailing me a new Scooba.
I asked how to return the manufactured Scooba. She said they do not accept reconditioned units back.
So -- for $200 I have a reconditioned and a new Scooba. :upsidedow
Figured the reconditioned one can be used for parts down the road.
And I  my Scooba.:cheer2:
I do not know why they were so quick to send me a new one. Maybe that was why the reconditioned was returned originally for. :confused3
But talk about great customer service! :thumbsup2

UMMMM! Stuffing!!! :rotfl:

My mom makes the stuffing from scratch. I need to get her recipe.

i have a great sugar cookie recipe...any of you who have an Eat N Park near by, they remind me of the smiley cookies.

I have a good stuffing I found last year that I'm making again, and a really good casserole for sweet potatoes with mini marshmallows and crushed Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal on top. I can share recipes if anyone wants them.
