Happy Girls Day!!!

Today's QOTD is peanut butter related.

When you attended school, did anyone have any peanut allergies? Or do you know of any other student that had a severe allergy that the school announced that, that particular item was no longer allowed in school?
Not that I recall. Way back then I don't think kids had peanut allergies like they do today. If they did, they weren't talked about much.

On a side not, it looks like my dd6 broke her arm Just a small hairline fraction right at her elbow... poor kid
Hope she recoups quickly!

If a child had an allergy, nothing was ever anounced.

schnerk your poor dd, hope she isn't in to much pain and that it heals fast. :wizard:

Our Elementary school is very proactive when it comes to Peanut allergies. I'm deadly allergic to them, DS5 is severlly allergic to Peanuts, DS6 has never been tested, but have been told that until tested otherwise have to assume that he's allergic until proven. (since it runs in the family). Since the school is aware of the allergies the classes they are in are considered a "Peanut Free" zone, with no Peanuts allowed in the classrooms.

My daughter has been attending her school for three years now. During the first two years, we were lucky since she was able to bring peanut butter sandwiches which is one of her favorites-she doesn't like alot of different foods. But this year since there is a child or children with a peanut allergy, no peanuts are allowed anywhere in school.

Spring, and Easter is around the corner....have you started to put out any decorations to celebrate these upcoming events?

Not when I was young. The boys have 2 kids in their school that I know of with allergies. But they don't stop the school from bringing it. The classroom party items are asked to not contain peanuts and they sit at a "no peanut" table at lunch. Now that they're in middle school, tho, I know DS14 sits with one of them who's his friend at lunch every day--and he still takes PB somedays.

:rotfl: I still have Christmas swags on the windows....guess I should take those down, but with all the snow and cold I wasn't opening up all the windows and screens to do it!

No I only decorate for Christmas, though I do put a few things out for Halloween so the kids know we have candy.

I usually put out a few Easter decorations but haven't gotten to it yet this year.

About the only seasonal decorating I do anymore besides Christmas is change out the wreath on the front door. Which reminds me, I need to put my Spring one out. I have one for each season.

We don't decorate for easter.

Good morning everyone! :goodvibes:

Girls Scouts everywhere will soon be going door to door, to friends, and family....selling their famous Girl Scouts coookies.

What are your favorites?

Our GS cookies were delivered a week or so ago and are almost gone!

Tagalongs, Samoas and Thin Mints

I like the lemon ones and the Trefoils best but Thin Mints and Samoas go over well in our house also.

Haven't had any girls come to our door yet, but if they do I love Tagalongs and Samoas. I'll be ready to order.

Thin Mints, and Samoas :goodvibes.

I tried finding for Girls Scouts selling them today, but was unsuccessful :(.

When you were away from your family-college, or elsewhere, did they send you care packages? If so, what did you receive?

Or maybe you were on the sender end, and sent out care packages. If so, what did you include?

For the 4 years that I was at university I still only lived 30 minutes from my parents so didn't need to be sent care packages, if I needed anything I just went home or my parents came over.

I didn't live away at college, went to the community college and with my 3 boys they usually come home often so I take them shopping to stock up on items they need. My middle son just called last night and asked to go shopping this weekend, says he needs more FOOD, so we're going to BJs on Sunday.
