My computer did a major meltdown, so I've been away from the boards for a while, the computer is still pretty sick, and needs to be replaced over the next month or 2. I would pick some kind of reality show that relates in some way to water. Have a great day everyone!

I think that I get my love of reading from my dad.

My dad was an avid curler, and I curled for 6 years, and am taking a year off before I decide to curl again. I've got a computer for my very own Yahoo!!! An am up and running for the most part. DH is looking for a replacement Laptop and will be replacing his in the near future. I got into severe DIS withdrawl, and am glad that I'm up an on the net again. Have a great day!

Do you have a best friend? If so, how long have you known that person for, and what qualities do the two of you share?

Besides Joe being my very bestest friend, I would have to say that my friend Karen is. We have a lot in common. We're both married to men named Joe but hers has an L at the end of his name. We both have a son and a daughter. Her son is about a week younger than mine and her daughter is two months older than mine.

Karen and I have known each other since our girls were in mother's day out together. In fact, Joe actually did the plumbing in their home before we knew who they were when their house was built.

Our sons were in the same boy scout troop, were in band from middle school on. Our daughters have known each other since they were four years old but they are not best friends. They went to different elementary schools so they ran in different crowds all through high school but they talk periodically. They were in band together also from middle school on. They were in the same girl scout troop from 1st grade on, Karen was the leader for many years.

Karen and I each have one sister and are the oldest. We've worked together as school volunteers for many years. We work together very well. We go out for lunch once or twice a month.

As far as qualities, I don't know but we get along together really well.



What is your favorite......
*Salad- grilled or fried chicken salad, though the Harvest salad at Cotton Patch is pretty good too
*Soup-right now it's the potato/cheese soup at Cotton Patch
*Book- I would say my all time favorite would be Black Beauty. I read it many times as a child.
*Homemade comfort food-Goodness, probably chicken baked in bread crumbs followed closely by homemade hamburger helper
*Dessert- plain old chocolate cake without icing topped with ice cream

My 2 fav friends are in Australia if you can believe that. I jointed IPF 3 years ago, and am in regular communication with a couple of friends there. When ever we go on vacation somewhere, we always send souvies, and they are truely greyt people. Have a great day everyone!

Besides my DH, who is one of my best friends, the person I consider my "best" friend is my friend Judith. Her and I met about 7 or 8 years ago (which I can't believe it's been that long!!) at an orientation meeting for new employees at the Hilton in Destin, Florida. We both started the same day, were both working at the spa as massage therapists, were both new to the city, and we both had just came out of lengthy relationships. We hit it off right away, and have been best buds ever since! I miss her terribly, as she moved to Nashville, Tennessee a few years ago. We still talk, email, and FB all the time, and we both go on a short "girl's getaway" once a year. She is one of the few people on the planet that really "get" me. It's nice to have her around!
