Todays QOTD is a question, and it has a twist.


As I was reading the Better Homes and Garden magazine, they mentioned that January is National Letter Writing month. I know that we are getting towards the ending of January, but thought that this would be a nice way to get write, and get some snail mail. Maybe you, and your partner could become pen pals, and write once or twice a month, maybe send cards for different holidays, or even start exchanging gifts for special occassions, or holidays.

I know that I personally like receiving snail mail that is not bills, so I would be up to this. Would anyone else like to join in, and have a pen pal from the exchange boards? If so, then pm me your name, address, and let me know if you are willing to send internationally or not. If anyone else is interested, I will set up names, and send them out. From then on, you and your new pen pal will contact each other.

Have you ever had a penpal?

About a year ago, my niece Maggie started writing me letters. She saw an article in a newspaper about yawning. She & I always tease each other about that word because it makes you yawn to read it! But her life is very busy so we haven't written to each other in a while.

I have one now that was arranged here on the DIS with a person in the UK....and I need to write her...thanks for the reminder.

I had a pen pal back in grade school. We didn't correspond for very long but it was fun. My cousin and I used to write to each other before she moved to Texas.

I'd be interested in having a DIS pen pal.

I had a penpal from elementary school till after high school. And I currently have one as well who is a DISer.

We now have two DISers who are looking for pen pals, anyone else?

I had a pen pal in high school.....but it didn't really last too long. I would imagine these days, kids with pen pals probably are more apt to write over email than snail mail. Although, I'm with Patsy.....it's always nice to receive something in the mailbox other than bills!

I had a pen pal when I was younger in France whom I got to meet. I also became epals with a teacher in Arizona. Her class and my class became epals and we became friends which was nice. She came to my house to stay with me for a week and came to visit my class at school and then later that year we went to America (that was my 1st trip to the USA) and we stayed with her in Kingman Arizona for a week and also went to stay with her and her mum in San Diego.

I like to fish, walk, play softball, bird watch, a number of things. Oh yeah, and people watch!
