I have grown to like my name. didn't like it when I was young because I had an older cousin that ALREADY had that name!! So it didn't feel special because IT was already in the family!!It wasn't even suppose to be my name, I was suppose to be Dawn Marie but at my Christening the Priest said I christen you Donna Mary??!!?? My aunt was my Godmother and back then you didn't dare ague with a Priest!! Since Mom's were not allowed to be at the Christening back then my Mom got quite a shock when she saw the certificate!! Wow she was so upset My poor Aunt
When we met My DH started calling me Zee (the last initial of my maiden name) so my friends started calling me that too!! Guess I got my OWN name after all!! Thanks DH!!!

I kind of like my real name (Marguerite) but it's a pain in the neck to deal with. No-one can spell it, some can't say it, and others just plain mess it up (Margaret, Margarita, etc.) My middle name is worse, so I never use it. I was named after my mother, so we had that confusion for a while too. I don't know what I like instead.

That's an advantage in our business. When someone calls and asks for Joe by his first name, I know that they don't know him. And when a salesman calls and wants to know the name of the person in charge, I always give them his first name.

I know I thought of some crazy names when I was little. I would have quite happy at one point to be a "She-Ra" or a "Jem". (She-ra? What is that about anyway??)

My full name is Nicole and I go by Nikki. Funny, I love Nikki, and have never liked Nicole. I know people don't know me when they ask for me by that name. I never thought I wanted to change it, but make it more exotic. Like Nikita, Nicolette, or Nichola. LOL
