exchange rate ...

PS: You know why it's going up? So dh can say, "I told you so" because I've been freaking since the dollar dumped and kept asking (especially last week), "should we get some more USD, I really think we should", and he kept saying, "no". LOL

I think I'm married to your dh's twin................;)

He finally caved last week and changed over some more spending money. He had the great pleasure to call me on my cell phone this afternoon just to gloat and give me s***!

BTW, we leave tomorrow too!! I'm soooo excited!

I need to get off the computer and pack!!

Stay up, stay up!!! (at least until the end of my vacation!) I have been watching that sucker go down for two and a half weeks. I can't believe it's up. Keeping my fingers crossed. If it will go up to .85, I might actually had hit the outlet malls. I'd nixed shoppping plans expecting it to be below .75.

LOL too funny.

Okay--paid it off last night!

This morning, the dollar jumps from 77 to 81 U.S. (according to the site I check).

Sigh.

Well I can do better than that I think. I went to pay my trip off last thurs, and decided to wait to see if the dollar was better the next day, and it was 1.31 :scared1: i think that was the worst it has been in three years. Well I sure picked the BEST day

So now when I get my spending money exchanged hopefully it will go back up. :goodvibes

Did the US Fed cut interest rates? I had heard they were set to cut US interest rates by another quarter percent. That would cause investors to dump their US dollar. And even with such an announcement investors are jittery.

Anyway, I bought at 1.30 when it was 77 cents and now it's at 1.25 two days later! Luckily I only bought to pay off half my cc bills from last trip. I wonder if I should wait?:scared:

Argh, when the dollar started dropping I waited for two weeks before finally caving and changing in $2000 CDN for our food and travel $$. Of course now it jumps back up just after I traded. I also bought my US/IOA tickets and my cc charged me 1.31 grrr. This is great news for those who still need to switch over $$, but I've pretty much got all the $$ I need now for the trip. Oh well, I'm trying not to stew over it, because unfortunately I'm one of those people that likes to save a buck and so losing $100's on fluctuating exchange rates really bugs me :headache: .

Oh well, I'm going to console myself with the fact that I paid off half my rental home and the WDW tickets when $$ was almost at par, so it's almost evened out now right. Besides, in less than a month I will be in Florida enjoying my trip with my dh and kiddos and the smiles on their faces will remind me that the $$ really isn't that big of a deal :yay: :yay:

I have saved over $100 in exchange because it took 3 days for the bank to credit a payment to my VISA account :cool1: .I can now pay off my trip

I am thanking the currency gods as we speak! Put our DCL cruise for 5 on my American Credit Card on Monday, and at least now the exchange is more palatable. I was really quite scared!

I am still going to wait until AFTER the US election to trade in my cash for souvenirs, and to buy our MYW passes at CAA. We leave Nov. 14th, and I think the dollar will go up after the election.

I am SOO glad to see it going up! I leave next weekend and was so mad at myself for taking the $500 US I had put away on a summer trip we took.
