Excellent customer service

We bought a Morphy Richards steam generator from Asda back in August and on Sunday it stopped working. Any of you with kids will know that an iron is an absolute essential in the house so I called Asda Direct to see about getting it repaired or replaced. They were absolutely no help at all, telling me they would have to take the old one away, test it to make sure it really was broken (?!?) and then order and deliver a new one - with Christmas, it could be 3 weeks before I got a new iron.

I then phoned Morphy Richards helpline to see if they could offer any advice and they are delivering a new one for me on Monday and taking the old one away (would have been Friday but there will be no one at home). Moreover, because the model we currently have is now obsolete, we are getting an upgraded model worth £150 (ours was about £90)

OK, OK, I am sad getting that excited about an iron but, hey, I get my kicks in the strangest of ways

Nice one Joh I'm surprised Asda didn't just exchange it, as I've never had a problem having stuff replaced within a year of buying it

I love my steam generator too, I've had a few and couldn't go back to a normal iron now......I'd be excited to get an upgrade too

I recently had a similar experience. My Brabantia push touch kitchen bin stopped opening, I called the helpline and instead of sending me a new catch to install they sent me a whole new lid So well done to Brabantia too
