EXCEL people help!!

I fought the mouse as long as I could. In the early 90s I was a hotel secretary and had a lot of Word Perfect macros that went keystroke by keystroke to write letters and contracts -- it was so cool that it would stop as I typed where it needed to be personalized, and then continued on when I hit Enter.

The advent of the mouse changed that philosophy, and rather keystroke by keystroke, it was the final outcome that macros did. I went kicking and screaming into Microsoft Word.

I'm FINALLY trying not to double space after periods and colons. I hate change.
Yeah we had to get creative when we had no mouse. I had a computer and a "workstation" on my desk. On the work station the function keys were programmable and not used in the software at all lol - so I would program them for the key words I had to type in over and over. YES was F1 NO was F2 SEARCH was F3 and so on. We had to find or MAKE our shortcuts - lol I remember FINALLY getting a mouse.

AHHHHH! 35+ year spreadsheet user here and suddenly @Sum is a dead function on my spreadsheets. I have to =sum to get the formula going. WHY??? What happened? What did I do???? I cannot seem to word my google search in a way to have this fix come up - lol :rotfl2:
I use Excel for Mac and have never used the @ for SUM, always the =. But at the end of the day, I just prefer Apple's Numbers which is what I keep all of my grade books in.

I miss word perfect.
The team that made excel surely didn't make Word.
As much as excel blew away 123, Word Perfect was way better than word.
AGREED! We had a battle at the office Engineers wanted Excel and Word and the rest of us were working in 1-2-3 and WP. They "won" and we were all pissed - lol

Some really usefull new formulas in latest versions.
I use unique all the time.
Has anybody tried lamdba, have yet to make one. I created my own functions with code before but never with this new function.

I haven't, but just looked it up - sounds fun!

I had something similar happen to me once when I was working on a spreadsheet for a project. I noticed that SUM wasn’t working properly, and after some digging, I realized I had somehow switched to a different locale setting, which changed how the formulas were interpreted. If you haven't checked that yet, it might be worth a look! Also, I remember stumbling upon a helpful tip from Excel.tv—great resource for little problems like this. It's a lifesaver when you're stuck and can't seem to find the right fix.

Hopefully they figured this out a year ago.
