Wow Rider!!! You really have some great pictures!!! I am still working on finding my password for the DIS website so I can post pictures like that, but they look wonderful!!! Your Big Ragoo looks a lot like my baby Cleo, although Cleo isn't as fuzzy in the face as your baby. They are so cute. Have the future step siblings met yet? It will be interesting to see how that plays out for you guys. I am sure it will be fun to have all those cats running around all over the place :D

I just did a lot of cleaning tonight so now I am here to relax. It doesn't look like a lot but on a full stomach from Taco Bell, it sure feels like it. I jusdt had to do something to take up my time as I am lonely without Luis. It is so sad to think like this but when he is gone, I just go to nothing. I think after all the years of being independent and thinking I could take care of myself (and that started even in high school after my mother died) I found out that I really like being with someone and when he isn't around, I just don't feel myself. Even if he is in the other room I feel much better, but somehow even though we sleep next to each other every night it is very much like being alone. Anyway I should stop complaining, it'll be done tomorrow night.

Well I really don't have much else to say. I am a little tired right now so I had better get back to my cleaning. I hope you all are having a great day and evening!!!

Helenabear, I just had to grin a bit at your lonliness. Not laughing, mind you but I have a retired husband and if he does not get his butt up off the couch and go somewhere sometime I may do grave damage to him. It has been almost 2 years and he never leaves(hardly). How can you miss someone who NEVER leaves? I am not so old that I do not remember the days when I was so thrilled to see the weekend come when he would be home so I do have sympathy for your plight and I hope this long week ends soon.

Wow, Rider, what great photos. It really helps to see your face and your place and your children of the feline race. (grin) I can just see you in your environment now. Thanks. One of these days I will find the time to scan and post some decent pictures.

I had my 4 year old this evening while DD attended a parent/teacher conference. He was being so sweet and managed to con me into making him some chocolate chip cookies. It did not take much. I am a great one for making extra cookie dough for the freezer so I can do a Martha Stewart when someone drops by. Sneaky devil ain't I?

I have a pot of my famous BBQ in the crockpot getting ready for the weekend. I always make an assortment of foods for the hordes that troupe through here on Heritage Days. I have a platter of assorted cheesecakes that should satisfy most people and cream cheese brownies to handle the rest. Please feel free to drop by. Sunday evening I will be ready for the jacuzzi.

Just noticed on my calendar that we will not get to leave for Florida until October 31st cause that is when the town will celebrate Halloween and I cannot miss my kids who are going to be the Cowardly Lion and the Tin Man. Their cousin is going to be Dorothy. Their one year old cousin is going to the the Scarecrow. I told my DD that she could be the Wicked Witch. She hit me! Ouch!! LOL

Somehow I don't mind getting in late for a Disney Day when it is only costing $49 a night. I can always add a day or two more on the end to make up for it.

I am going to wander over to Bomba's to eat this evening. Wonder if there is a place to see the animals at night for us poor people who are not lucky enough to have a room there?

I hope you are all having a great evening and I am looking forward to seeing what you guys are going to get up to next.

Hello!

Glad that you liked (and didn't mind - I think that I got a bit carried away - hee hee!) my little photo exposition!

Guess what? I got another call from WDW Guest Communications, today! This time, I got a call from the manager of the woman who called me a few weeks ago. I had written a letter to her, expressing my appreciation for the first call, and saying that the lady who called me did a great job, etc., so the manager called me herself to thank me! I thought that that was really nice! I love hearing from CM's, down there!

Is Luis's week of training and his night schedule over now, Helenabear? I hope so! I'm sure that this week was difficult for you both, but I'm sure that you will be able to spend a nice and romantic weekend, together! :) I also thought that Ragoo looked like Cleo, when I first saw her picture - it's that Maine Coon connection! I've been able to spend some "quality time" with my cats, as I had the day off again, today. I keep warning them "you don't know what's coming, next week......2 new sisters!"

You have to stop telling us about all the goodies which you are cooking and baking, SG - my mouth waters every time you tell us about what you're making - YUM! Are your Heritage Days this weekend? That sounds really nice! Do people go from home to home visiting? Are there lots of activities planned throughout your town? You'll have to take lots of pictures of the kids all dressed up for Halloween and post them here so that we can see - I'm sure that they will look great! Speaking of the "Wizard of Oz" theme, a few years ago when Frank was working for me (years before he and I were dating), our whole unit dressed up as characters from that film. I was Dorothy (I used a plush ML Bull as my "Toto"!) and Frank was the Tin Man. We decorated our whole area of the office - we even made a "tornado" in my office by attaching little dolls and dollhouse furniture to wires from the ceiling, and pointing my fan up at it! We're invited to a Halloween party this year - we haven't even thought about what to "be" yet, though!

Just a little over a month till your trip to WDW, SG! Can't wait to hear what you think of the EWP, when you finally see it "in person"! Wish that we could all be there to see it, together!

Oh well - we can be there "in spirit", right now! In about 45 minutes, it will be passing by the Poly - why don't we all hop on the monorail and head over there for KoKo Puffs at the Kona Cafe, followed by a viewing of the EWP! :)

Hi everyone!

I still haven't had time to go back and read all the posts that I have missed. Life is still pretty hectic but I am hoping that I get some relaxation time soon.
I hope that you are all well. I miss spending time in the suite with you all. {{{HUGS}}} to everyone.

Thanks for stopping by, again, Bashful64! Great to hear from you!

{{{{HUGS}}}} to you and everyone else in the Suite!

Hope that you're all having a great weekend! :)

Hi everyone. Just stopping in really quick to say hi. Luis is basically done with training. Next week he is watched over very closely to make sure he is "doing good enough" then he will talk with HR to see about his schedule. They have him working Saturdays and he said he could only work until noon... right now they have him until four. So he is going to try for more hours and not on Saturday. But at least he is here now. Right now baby Cleo is on my lap being cute. You wouldn't think she is eight now by the way she acts. We got Gwen her birthday present today and I hope she likes it. It just happens that I am taking a half day for her birthday :D because of a doctors appointment!

Rider, you are the lucky one to be able to talk with those people so much. I am sure you give good comments about where you stay.

Bashful, it's great to see you again! Stop by more often. We have that huge Mickey shaped jacuzzi that needs to be used more!

SG, do you mind if I ask how you got that $49 a night deal? I would be willing to go every year if I only had to pay that much. Then every few years I'd go all out for the Poly.

Well I can't stay much longer we are going to my dad's for an end of the summer cook out! I hope all is well with everyone! Glad to see each of you again!

I wrote the best post ever yesterday and it has disappeared. Wonder what happened? I hope this one gets through. Just in case I pm'd Helenabear with the instructions on how to get the great rates. www.mousesavers.com is the answer. It is all over the boards and I figured everyone knew about them. We are booked for 10 days because of the rate and may extend our stay. I figure it makes sense for DW to offer great rates on places to stay cause the longer we stay the more money we spend and it is good for the economy.

I am in the middle of our big weekend and am just home for a bit of a rest before I head back up for the music contest. It is awesome. There will be more people coming to the concert than live in this small town. I am so glad I live near so I can walk as it would be terrible to try to get and back out afterward. I have all the food ready for tomorrow. I won't tell you all the particulars as I wouldn't want you all to drool all over your computers and short them out. LOL

Bashful, we are grateful to get you in here whenever you get a chance even if it is for just a few moments.

Helena, what are you doing on here this weekend? You should be having some together time with Luis and catching up on everything from this past week. See you later!

Hi all! I hope you all had a great weekend! I just finished raking some leaves. I guess we have an early turner in our front yard so I had to rake that up and then some of the grass since Luis cut the grass really short this time. Right now he is playing his Sega and guess what he was doing when I was raking... for those who guessed playing Sega you are right ;)

It was nice to finally have him back here so I could talk to him. I really don't get to talk to some of my friends too much (as we are now all over the country with many different hours for jobs) so he is someone I love to talk to. And right now he left to go rent a nice movie so we can have "movie night" together. And don't worry, yesterday when I stopped in he was watching football (OSU vs Indiana) and I figured since OSU was so far ahead with so little time left, I could stop in.

We got Gwen her birthday present yesterday and I am sure she will love it. I never noticed how much energy she had before but maybe because we got so much more room now they both love to run all over the place. Right now they are peacefully sleeping so I might just have to go and tourment them for a while (just like my parents did to me).

Well as much as I love to stay here I have a few things to get done for tomorrow before Luis returns. Let's just hope he picks a good movie ;) I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!!!

Dear Helenabear

Had to laugh out loud when I heard that Luis was going to pick out a movie. My husband is from another generation (even from myself) and has some odd habits. I would never send him to pick out a movie. One time recently we were at a video store looking for something to take home. He wanted to know why I did not allow him to pick out any videos. I told him it was because he has the habit of picking out movies by the picture on the front and overwhelmingly they have naked ladies on them. Now mind you, I am not a prude or anything but IMHO most vidoes with nudity on the front covers (or books for that matter) are that way to attract attention to poorly made or written material. The worse the material the more naked the lady usually is. My DH then reached over and picked up a video and said "How about this one". I swear, I am not making this up. The picture on the front showed a totally naked lady with a bass fiddle between her legs. He wasn't even joking, he honestly thought that it looked like a 'good' movie. Of course this is also the man who once cleaned the front light fixture by banging it on the concrete to 'knock the bugs off' and was surprised that the glass broke. Yes, I want a pity party and I want it NOW!!!!! :pinkbounc

I bet every woman who read this post would have guessed that Luis was playing Sega BTW. Some creatures take longer to evolve than others and men don't change too fast. LOL

Can't wait to hear what movie he picked out. Hope it was a good one. I am going to veg out tonight in front of the set myself. Had a very busy weekend and everyone has gone home and I need a break. I always read while I 'watch' tv as there is little that can keep my whole attention on the tube.

Got to start on cleaning out the flowerbeds and such tomorrow so I will have all the yardwork done before we leave in 31 days!!!!

I was honeslty hoping he would bring back a chick flick but he brought back two comedies. The first was Galaxy Quest and the other Shanghai Noon. I hadn't seen either but I was more in the mood for Galaxy Quest. It was good if you are for the silly stuff ;)

We are beginning to have the whole house in good condition and it almost feels perfect. I can't wait for all boxes to be unpacked and put away. I have ideas for the bathroom. It doesn't need paint but I really think I want to paint it. Right now it is a light blue and I think I want it to be a light green. We have dark green towels and I think I want a green scheme for the bathroom, but I really have no idea. A part of me wants to make it very dark or bright but then again it is kind of small and I am afraid it will make it look smaller. And if I did that I would have no idea what to pick for a color.

Well my dinner is ready and I should go. I will try to check back in later. Take Care everyone!!!

Hi everyone!

How is everyone today?

I actually have a little while today to relax and enjoy myself. So I am going to hang out here in the suite and relax in the jacuzzi with a nice glass of lemonade.

We had quite a busy weekend....Saturday we spent cleaning up the house and yard so that we could have our DD's 2nd birthday party yesterday. My DH's family was over and we had some dinner and birthday cake. The kids played outside in the sunshine while us big people chatted inside. The kids had fun with a pinata (well okay a few of the adults got in on that too) and balloons. All in all it was a very enjoyable day.

Today I am just putting the house back in order and taking it easy!

I hope you are all having a great Monday!

Hi Everyone!

Sorry that I haven't been around, but I'm making those last-minute arrangements for Frank's move on Friday! Today is my last day of work until moving weekend - I'm taking tomorrow off to have that last day of "bachelorettehood" (which will be spent watching soap operas and resting!).

SG - I am still laughing thinking about your reaction when you saw the video cover with the naked lady with the bass fiddle between her legs! That is very funny! I also liked the story about your DH banging down the light fixture to get the bugs off! I'm sure that those are some of the quirky things that you love about your DH! How was the rest of your Heritage Days celebration? It sounds like a busy and fun weekend!

Helenabear - I don't think that you ever told us what you got Gwen for her birthday! What did you get for her? (I always like good cat birthday present ideas! I usually get toys for my cats - used to give them special food, too - ie: Sheba - but Laverne has a sensitive stomach so they all eat only Science Diet, now, and I don't want to upset her by giving the others special food, if she can't join them!) When you're finished unpacking all your boxes, I could send Frank over there to break them down for you - that's what we spent Sunday doing - getting the billions of boxes in my garage ready for recycling. Fortunately, I don't think that there will be too many more coming with Frank, as the movers are going to pack and unpack for him. My house also needs some repainting - maybe you could give us some color ideas, too!

Bashful64 - your DD's party sounds really nice! I'm sure that she and everyone else had a great time! And it sounds like you had nice weather, that day, too! Hope that she had a very happy birthday!

Well, I'm off to work, now (UGH). Have a great day, Everyone! See you later, in the Suite - Luis will be holding a Sega challenge, this evening, followed by movie night.......with a film of SG's DH's choosing! :)

You have royalty amongst you today. Tuesday night we had the quarterly tourny for the trivia game I play. When the dust settled I was surprised and delighted to see that I had emerged as the "Grand Poobah of Trivia". It is such a fun group of people from around the world. No egos and great senses of humor. I would feel comfortable inviting any of them to come on over and put their feet up on the coffee table, sort of how I feel about you guys.

Rider, ah, you have too good an opinion of me. I do not find these quirky things funny. Well, maybe the naked lady thing as he honestly had no idea what he had just done but for the rest uhhhh. When he breaks something and it is often it is me who has to deal with it and as I am not aging well and find it hard to keep up with my regular duties the extra strain does not make me a happy camper. I complain about his sleeping 12 hours a day and watching tv the rest of the time but at least he is not destroying something when he is doing that. I hope you are enjoying your day off. I am going to be at DW on Super Soap weekend but plan to avoid the park where it is held. What soaps do you watch?

Bashful, what wonderful memories you are making for your DD. It sounds as if you had a perfect day. That is my idea of fun, Good food and good friends to share it with. We have a small yard but it is laid out well so I often use it as an outdoors living room when we have company. Best thing is you don't have to vacumn later. LOL

Helena, I have small bathroom also and know your dilemma. Might you not add a dark green accent color to the blue walls to match your towels? It would be easy and would not make for too dark a room. You just take a small sea sponge and apply the color over the base color as much or as little as you would lilke. Also choose your shower curtain in a lighter color to make the bathroom look bigger. That and not having too many things in there help. I can give this advice cause I have made each and every mistake in mine. (LOL) If you want a bigger accent you can use wadded up plastic grocery bags to apply the paint. That is my favorite way to do it and is free! Luis did not do too badly in picking out movies. You should be proud and happy.

I did not get much painting done yesterday. Other things kept getting in the way. I only got one door done and it is supposed to rain tomorrow. I have stuff to do in town today and will have company tonight so nothing will get done today. I have such a long list of stuff to get done before our trip and if I do not get into gear it will not get done.

I have a regular trivia game tonight but think that Dalton will provide much distraction. yep, I am using my little grandson as an excuse for my failure to win tonight. Totally shameless, that is me!:)

I hope you are all having a great day and not getting into too much trouble. I am going to wend my way over to the GF and enjoy a nice relaxing afternoon tea. Any takers?

Hi everyone! I have been so busy lately I didn’t even turn my computer on yesterday. I went shopping for a gift for Luis for our anniversary, which will be on Sunday and I got him just what he asked for, a screwdriver set. He gave me a list of things he wanted and that made it easy. He wanted a Roto-zip as well but I didn’t see a good package for one for him. Christmas isn’t that far away either though so hopefully I will find a good one to get him then.

Our baby Gwen is one today :D She is such a big girl now I can remember when she was only 2 pounds and now she is about 11 pounds bigger. We got her a neat toy that I think she will play with. It is a piece of wood covered in carpet then a spring is attached to it perpendicularly and on top of the spring is a fuzzy round thing. She loved to bat at things so we will see what she (or even Cleo) thinks of it. I hope they like it but if not, it was only $5 so it wouldn’t be that much of a loss. Our baby will get a special dinner tonight and I intentionally decided to cook chicken for dinner too so that the ‘kids’ can eat off of what we have left over.

I have a doctor’s appointment today (just an annual check up) and I really am not looking forward to it. I do not like doctors and I wish I didn’t have to go. Also it will be fun as I do not have my insurance card yet but I do have all the information and I do have proof that I have insurance (with the group ID and my member number and everything) so hopefully that will be good enough for them. The only good part of this is that I leave at one and I should be home by 3 at the latest. It will be nice to be home a little early so I can just relax and do nothing for a while.

SG, Congrats on being the “Grand Poobah of Trivia”:bounce: It is great to know that we have royalty amongst us ;) I am glad that you are able to find groups from all over the world that you feel so comfortable with. To me that is a great gift to find a group like this that you can feel that way. I wanted to let you know I can totally relate to how you feel with your DH. As wonderful as I make him sound, he does get on my nerves every once in a while. There are many times when things need to get done and all he wants to do is play on his computer… that’s what I get for marrying a computer geek though I guess. I will say I am lucky though, I haven’t had him bang on a light fixture in order to fix it though ;)

Rider, I do hope you enjoyed your last day “alone” and had a nice time watching your soaps. I am an avid CBS Soap listener (I have a TV radio at work so I can hear them even though I can’t see them) and I hardly miss a day. I will let you know what Gwen thinks of her toy. I am always looking for good toys for them although they don’t really need anymore and they even have their own box that I can put them in for when company comes. I think the best toy I ever found for them was a laser pointer. Also recently I got them small tennis balls that were filled with catnip. They seemed to like that a lot.

Bashful, it sounds like you had a beautiful party for your DD. I am sure everyone had fun playing with the piñata as well. Were you able to get lots of pictures to capture the party? I love taking pictures so that is why I bought a digital camera. I can then share all my photos with those who are far away who has internet access. What a wonderful thing that is!

I am still working on color schemes for the rooms. Luis will be working some Saturdays now until four (not too bad as I usually poke around until about then anyway) and I plan on working on cleaning the house top to bottom (walls and all) and then work on painting sometime. I think for the bathroom I might actually go with a creamy color. I found a color called “Sand Dollar” (so you can imagine the shade) that might actually work very well. It is fairly close to the color of the vinyl in the shower/tub and it works well with dark green and many colors for that matter. I was thinking of doing some sort of beach kind of feel (I know dk green doesn’t work on the beach but I have sooo many towels that color) and that color would work very nicely with that. In the kitchen they had ceramic tile on the floor. Now it is not a color I would have picked but it will hide stains and the like very nicely. Well on part of the wall by the sink, there is tile on the wall itself. It is white tile with two shades of orange lines around the edges of each tile. Now I am usually not a fan of orange but it isn’t that bad. The flooring is a beige with some rusty colors marblized kind of in it. So I was thinking of using either the same color I want for the bathroom there or slightly more of a peach color that will work with it all. I like peach and it seems to work. In the bedroom I am almost sure I want a light olive green there. The rest of the walls for now are going to stay their beige color unless I can come up with something good for them. I really don’t need to do this but it isn’t expensive to do and it will give me something to do.

Well I should get back to work now. I have less than two hours to go now! I hope you all have a great day and I will be glad to join you SG for a nice afternoon tea at the GF. I should be done with the doctor by then.

I'm home. Got back at 11:00pm last night 10/3/01. Had such a wonderful time. I will report later. Wanted to come visit my friends here though. The first few days of our stay were very uncrowded. Hotels were empty, etc.... We also had the $49 rate and stayed at ASsports. Got the back portion of the Football portion and loved it. Contrary to other peoples' reports. We also stayed at the PBH for 3 nights. If I knew how slow it was down there, I would have saved more money and continued for another week. The rates for the HRH were $99 a night. That place is incredible. PBH is too slow and quiet for people with kids. Beautiful though.

EWP absolutely gorgeous, we saw the electric light parade from splash mountain, which we rode continuously until closing time. Saw tinker bell before fireworks, aaaaah....that was the only truly busy time at the parks.

Gotta go, I'll tell more later.............yes, I was afraid during flying, and I'm not one to be afraid, the swat team at Boston airport walking around with their automatic weapons, kind of scares a person, however, the children did well, and so did we. No problems with flights or waiting for flights. Other than they did cancel two of our return flight options, but they rebooked on different flights. No biggie.

Let's all join for a chat soon. I took ICQ off my system, but I can reinstall it. the chat on DIS I don't have any problems with that either.

Have a good night all.

Welcome back Jstmee!!! It sounds like you had a great trip!!! I look forward to hearing more about the trip!

Well I should get back to my baby. BTW Rider, Gwen loved her gift!

I hope everyone has a great evening!

Jstmee, I have a million questions but I will settle for one or two tonight. I have been thinking of requesting building 10 Touchdown as it looks to be near the buses, parking lot and not too far from the quiet pool. My DH will not get into a pool if there are a lot of people. I do pretty well when I start out in the morning but coming back from the parks every single step saved is necessary. Did you stay in or near Bldg 10 and if so what did you think of the location? When you post your trip reports please let us know so we can live vicariously through you until the next 26 days pass and we can enjoy it for real ourselves. LOL I am so glad that you and your family had a wonderful and safe journey.

Helena, the colors you are picking sound so lovely to me. I hope you take before and after pictures. I have a photo album of this house and all it's many transformations. I have found that having a plan is half of the solution. It is so frustrating to do one thing and then later change your mind and do another not to mention being expensive.

I can relate about doctor's. If I had my way we would go back to the way that the Chinese used to do. The doctor had a doll and the lady patients would just point to what hurt. LOL I have spent many thousands of dollars the last few years in a search for what ails me and have finally decided to just wait for the autopsy report. (raised eyebrows)

I am sort of glad to hear that Luis is not perfect. Life would be boring and terribly hard to live when living with perfection. LOL I think the key to a happy marriage is to find someone who has faults you can live with. Of course, as women, we have no faults. (big old belly laugh)

I am a bit tired. I played trivia earlier tonight and came no where near a win. I could blame it on being distracted by an attractive blonde feller (grandson) but I don't think I would have won anyway. Would be boring to win all the time anyway but I try. :smooth:

I have no one to cook chicken for me so I will go get some rest so I can get up and cook some pork chops for us to chow down on. I always cook in bulk so I can save on the grocery bill and not have to cook 3 big meals a day.

Have a great night all. The afternoon tea was delightful and so genteel. You would be so proud of me cause I kept my shoes on the whole time and held my little pinkie up whist drinking my Earl Grey. DH found that stacking 4 sandwiches together would make for a mouthful for himself. I think I will go to these kind of things without him in the future. I should have remembered his habit of ordering 3 meals at a time while on previous cruises.

Jstmee, sorry to bother you again. I know you are getting some well deserved rest tonight but when you get a chance could you let us know how the Connections coupons worked out?

Good morning, everyone. I've been enjoying my morning coffee on the dock as I watched the sun come up over Cinderella's castle. It's so nice watching the CM's getting things ready for another beautiful day in the World. I love to watch people as they head to the parks. There is truly no place as special as WDW. I think I'm going to have the Tonga toast for breakfast!

My husband left early this morning to go with friends to a hunting camp where they will spend many cold Saturday mornings in the next few months. I am going to spend today cleaning up our play room with the help of my 2 year old DD and my 2 1/2 year old niece. It will probably be a mess again this afternoon, since we're expecting rain later today and won't be able to play outside like we've been doing the past two weeks. I live in southern Alabama, where the summers are in the upper 90's with 80-90 percent humidity. We had a cool spell a couple of weeks ago, and really took advantage of the nice fall weather. It has warmed up again to the 90 degree range, but will be back in the 50s and 60s after this rain. Yeah!!!

I re-booked reservations for Thanksgiving weekend, hopefully my DH can get a few days off that week. I'm willing to do my part for the economy! When I get down, I close my eyes and remember the week we spent at Disney this summer. I can see the sun come up over the lagoon, and the mist rising from the grass. I can see the marina and boats, and smell breakfast cooking as I walk to the Great Ceremonial House. I hear the ducks as they root around in the bushes for their breakfast, and the swoosh of the monorail as it leaves the station on its way to the magic kingdom. That week was so perfect, I forgot about bills, and the telephone, there was no TV, no unhappiness, as though there was no other life outside
that time and place. Whevener I need to get away, I can go back to those memories, and relive it all over again. That's what's so nice about this suite. It's just another way to be in the most wonderful place in the world. Thanks to all of you who come here and take the time to let the rest of us in on your lives. I enjoy hearing about the cats, the grandchildren, the wedding plans, the good times and the bad. Wouldn't it be nice if we could all really meet one day?
