hi everyone I have to be quick cause my DD is breathing down my neck, l loved the article about woman and sports, my DD who is in 6th grade plays middle school softball, soccer and basketball, she is on the student council for grades 6,7,8, is a high honor student a girl scout and a member of the youth ministry for our Church, lol she just read this and said, "I'm a busy person". Oh, I forgot, she plays in the band, clarinet and is a flag bearer for the High School Marching Band. WOW talking about tooting her horn!! lol.
Now, about sports and academics, my twin boys, sophmores are on the varsity baseball and basketball teams and they are also on the high honors and will be in AP classes next year. and for the past three years have coached a 4th 5th 6th grade Rec League b'ball and baseball team. I think this also promotes healthy living and hopefully non drug and alcohol use.
Okay, I'm the proud mama.
Now, on to important matters.....Got back from WDW on 4/2, I know didn't report back to you, I've been dreadfully busy. It was an awesome trip. Went to Epcot. My neice Amanda is in the College Internship program, she works in the Land and helps out at the Junior Chef with the little kiddos. She loves it. She likes it so much down there, she's going to transfer down to Florida and continue schooling down there.
It was such a nice trip by myself. I strolled along the boardwalk, ate at Bongos, visited Animal Kingdom Lodge, etc, etc.....ah just reminiscing makes me want to go back.
Also, I've lost 42lbs since December and of all things I got a tattoo of a butterfly on my left ankle while I was down there, my neice and I went together, that was my gift to me....can you believe it???!!!! me 42 my neice 19, she got a 4leaf clover-(she already had one on her lower back) she I wasn't corrupting her.
We also went to Islands of Adventure and rode every ride there was and went to Margaritaville.
I see there are more people to the room, I guess I'm an "old" drop in at this point but it's so warm and comfy here. Glad to see everyone here.
One more thing I went to an all female college and loved it as far as studies went. But as far as friendships with both genders go, I sort of missed the boat on that one.
Bye for now, Wendy
