Evil Clowns? Mickey Mouse? Divas? And turning 40!? Be afraid, be very afraid!

I made the popper dip Beth and it was delish. My hub dug into as soon as it came out of the over and burned his mounth.:rotfl:
Oh, good!!
Well, I mean good you made it and enjoyed it, not that he burned his mouth. ;)

Did you serve it with tortilla chips?
It's so addicting though!! It was a hit at Ruben's work when he took it in. Within minutes of him serving it, three of his coworkers were asking for the recipe.

That's when I am planning to go too! I already told Mike that I need to go there to get one; my DD and her husband are total Nightmare fans so I need at least one of the coffins. What do you all think about getting our food and grabbing some tables for the 1:30 Billy show?
Hey, that sounds fun!! Then again, I've already told everyone I am just along for the ride this time. Everyone needs to just point me in the right direction. :thumbsup2

Try it! It wasn't gross, I promise.
Are you lying? That's what everyone says about the Beverly drink in WDW because they want other suckers to try it and suffer the way they did. :rotfl:

Nah, I am sure it's fine. I'll try it. But those chips look way too crunchy for these teeth.

Then stop looking at online pictures, silly!! Just look at the yummy-looking pic from French Market
Hey! You're so smart. Thank goodness we have you here to guide us all!! :worship:

:

Tortilla chips, crackers and pretzels ! I was just getting ready to put it in the oven when he got home. He wanted to have some right away and I told him he had to wait. No patience at all.
I am going to stock up on the chili's this weekend so I can make it a lot.

I just bought some ingredients last night to make it again this weekend for Noelle's party. I'm also going to try making those candy corn cupcake Jill posted on Facebook.
I will post a picture here....if they turn out! ;)

I want to make more Halloween themed items for this weekend, but most of what I find online is either sweets, which we already have a lot of, of it's something that picky teen girls won't eat.

We are doing to do this during Noelle's Halloween party. I remember doing something similar when I was in the 6th grade and loved it. Granted these girls are much older, but they are so squeamish that Noelle wanted to try it.

Scary Halloween Story
Supplies:
a. Two Olives for eyes
b. Wire Frames from old glasses (optional)
c. Cooked cold spaghetti- intestines
d. Cold tortilla – skin
e. Un-Popped Popcorn (10-15) – teeth
f. Dried apricot – ear
g. fuzzy or furry yarn – hair
h. Cold wet Tofu – brains
i. Glove with wet sand. Drape over bowl, and freeze – Hands
j. Have plastic bowls prepared with each item.

Have all the kids sit in a circle with the “narrator”. Turn out the lights. Narrator reads scary Halloween story with a flashlight shining on their face only, then as you start reading begin passing around the body parts that correlates with that part of the story. (when I did this as a kid, we had a big blanket covering our laps and passed the items under the blanket) FYI – It helps to have the items lined up in proper order and have an assistant ready before the lights go out.

Here lies John, my dear late lamented friend.
I know he wished he could be here before the end.
John was a fun man, a giving man too.
He wanted to share his body parts with you.

John was a jolly man with a great big gut.
Let’s pass around his intestines, just your luck!
Fresh from the grave, wet and cold
Just a little slimy, just a little old.
Twisted and shriveled in a bunch
Just like they were after his lunch.
(Pass cold cooked spaghetti)

His skin was fair, almost pure white
Let’s pass around a piece, no need to fright.
Fresh from the grave, wet and cold.
Just a little slimy, just a little old.
Pretty greasy and dirty, he lived in a cave.
Never really had time to ever bathe.
(Pass cold tortilla)

One eyeball went left, the other went right.
See poor John had very bad sight.
Fresh from the grave, wet and cold.
Just a little slimy, just a little old.
Handle them gently as they roll
John wouldn't like it if they fell from the bowl.
(Pass 2 large olives and spectacles)

Now John wasn't a very smart man.
We found his brains stuffed in a can.
Fresh from the grave, wet and cold.
Just a little slimy, just a little old.
You'll feel there isn't much to them
Shows the kind of man he'd been.
(Pass cold tofu)

Now one thing John wasn't was bald
He had a nice head of hair I'm told
Fresh from the grave, wet and cold.
Just a little slimy, just a little old.
Just nice and fuzzy to the touch
I said he had some, but just not that much.
(Pass piece of fur or fuzzy yarn)

One thing John was proud of was his pearly whites
A good set of choppers kept him fed right.
Fresh from the grave, wet and cold.
Just a little slimy, just a little old.
See his teeth were strong unlike his sight
Just be careful when you touch that they don't bite
(Pass un-popped popcorn)

Just like Vangough, he only had one ear
He always heard just fine, and perfectly clear.
Fresh from the grave, wet and cold
Just a little slimy, just a little old.
A little shriveled because of its age
But an ear nonetheless, it says on this page.
(pass dried apricot)

The last thing we found, was Johns strong hands
They were down deep, covered with sand.
Fresh from the grave, wet and cold.
Just a little slimy, just a little old.
Cold and stiff as they were when he died.
Go ahead, shake one, or you'll think that I lied.
(pass sand filled frozen gloves)

With all his pieces back safe and sound.
Time to put him back into the ground.
So now you've met my dear lamented friend
That brings this haunting to an end.

I think it will be fun to watch the more girly/easily spooked of her friends freak out. lol

Noelle's party went great! They all had so much fun. The "pass the gross food" game was hilarious. Especially the tofu/brain and olives/eyeballs. They were screaming as only teen girls can. :lmao:

They ended up partying all night long, falling asleep outside on the backyard grass sometime around 5 a.m.
Ah, youth. ;)

Aw, Lisa. I wish you could be there, too. Come on, join us! Ditch work and real life for a bit. :cool1:

I'm gonna miss y'all by a day. I'm taking a quick trip down with a friend of mine. I get into Anaheim on the 18th and leave the evening of the 19th. SIGH. The cheap flights on Southwest are now only on Tu/W/Th.

Sorry for no updates today.
I spend the day looking for a Halloween costume to wear to the Disney party and didn't have much luck. Everything is so......um, bootylicious and is not going any where near this body. :scared1: When did Halloween become about seeing just how trampy we can get? :confused3

2008. I had the same problem when I looked to see if I could find a Disney-Appropriate-Costume when I went to the Mickey Party. All I could find were slutty pirate girls and trampy everything else. Seriously? I feel your pain.

LOL! When I did that back in my youth, we used peeled grapes for eyeballs. More slimy. LOL

Oh, no way. One stinkin day. That sucks.

That was one idea for the eyeballs, but all the grapes at my usual grocery store were so small. :confused3 I used the big, green pimento stuffed olives and rubbed a tiny bit of oil on there. It worked like a charm. The girls were all interested afterward to see what each item really was.

Here are some of the treats from the party. We had oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, pumpkin bars, cake balls, cupcakes, caramel apples, banana cake, 7 layer taco dip, chips and dip, veggie platter, mini bundt cakes, pigs in a blanket, pepperoni pizza, and lots of drinks. And.....they ate it all over the course of the entire night!! I'm amazed no one got sick. :rotfl:

And a few of the girls being "witchy".

OMG!!!!!! I am soooo hungry right now. Your kids are lucky you're so creative. Your trip is coming up really soon. Can't wait to hear about it!

Aren't they cute?
They had fun goofing off. I didn't want anyone to hassle with costumes. It wasn't really that sort of a party, more of a get-together to hang out and such. But they all wore black shirts and witch hats.

I want those lips!!

OMG, can you imagine? :rotfl:

I want that food !!!
Me, too! But they ate it all!! I thought teen girls weren't supposed to eat much. :rolleyes1

Beth- You are an amazing mom/cook! The treats look amazing!!!
Thanks. I have more photos on Facebook of all the food. I am thinking of doing a Christmas party for her and just a few of her close friends. They want to do a white elephant gift exchange. I was thinking of different finger foods to make, and I definitely want to make Christmas cake balls.

I know! The weird thing is.....I'm not even thinking about it! :confused3 Normally by now I'd be packed! I have to go this weekend and get a hair cut, find some clothes to wear, etc. Talk about waiting until the last minute!

Loved the pictures. Which one is Noelle?
Thanks. She's the one all the way at the right end, next to the girl in the glasses.
