I just spent a couple of hours on the phone with WDTC and boy am I mad!! The first time I called the CM first told me I couldn't use it and when I continued to question her, she punched soe buttons and then said I could. She quoted me 2 seperate vacations and I told her I would have to call back after discussing with the wifey and decide where she wanted to stay. That was my first big mistake. When I called back, the 2nd CM I spoke with would not grant me the code without a PIN code. We argued back and forth until she switched me to Guest services. The supervisor I spoke with refused to honor the code because it was not attached to my household. But she did tell me....:crowded: MAY I HAVE EVERYONES ATTENTION:listen: ...if the CM gives you the discount(and make sure they've given you the discount) and you have a reservation number then they would have to honor it!!! So make sure you know the price of your trip before calling, if you get a CM that is willing to honor the code, make sure they have applied the code and then make sure that you have a reservation number. The supervisor said that this would be a written agreement that they would have to honor even though it was their mistake. :thumbsup2
SO, GOOD LUCK TO ALL CODE HUNTERS AND MAY YOU FIND THAT SPECIAL CM THAT WILL MAKE YOUR WISH COME TRUE!!!:wizard:

Thanks for posting this. Atleast this might make some people a little less worried.

The best thing you can do when thinking over prices is to have them put the reservation on a courtesy hold...specifically ask for one. That way, you don't have to worry about whether or not the CM will honor the code the next time you call. All you have to do is give them your confirmation number and it pulls it right up with everything already applied. Be aware that courtesy holds without deposits will be deleted by a certain date...so make sure you find out exactly what that date is. And don't count on it being there until the evening of that date. I had a reservation put on courtesy hold this morning and they'll be holding it until February 10th for me. If I don't make a deposit by then, it's gone. ANd she was very specific that they usually delete in the mornings the day of.

I'm Steven

And I am a 40% off code user...

Here's my story: I called to make a reservation with "the code". I had heard on the DIS that sometimes they may send the code to an old email address or whatever, but the CM's at CRO would know if or not you were supposed to have one. So I said "what the hey" lets give it a try. Well I didn't have the pin attached to my name, but the extremely friendly and helpful CM went through my travel party and ZippaDeeDoooodahhhh, my aunt had the code attached to her name. The CM told me the email address that it was sent to, which was an old email address of my aunt's daughter. Anyways, we switched the reservation to lead off with my aunts name and that's how we got the discount. See what a little wishing can do?

I received my ressie in the mail today. I did not have a pin and did get the discount and my ressie this time looks just like my original ressie that I had without the discount. Nothing is said about anything being needed upon checkin.

As I mentioned on another post, if special documentation is required for a rate at check in it is listed on the confirmation (valid AP required, FL resident status required). For those that got THE CODE rate, if a pin or post card is required at check in it should be listed on the ressie..

If WDW calls in the next few weeks to tell those without a pin the offer is not valid, ok, but at check in NO WAY!!!!!

It's 14 days from the day you make the reservation. We have to pay our deposit by Feb 1st.

:thumbsup2 This sounds accurate. Thanks for the clarifiction on the three letter code.

DH booked our trip last night without anything and the promotional card showed up today. I called Disney reservations this afternoon to give them the pin "just in case" and the CM said she didn't need it. My guess is that it was already in the system when they looked us up initially.

We're looking forward to our trip. :)

That's odd because the 1st CM I talked to last night said she would do a courtesy hold for only 24 hours. Of course I called back this morning, and the CM I spoke with couldn't even find the reservation...and the confirmation number I had didn't even exist in their records. 14 days makes sense, the CM I had last night obviously didn't reserve anything. Of course, I shouldn't be surprised...last night's CM also lied about the availability of standard rooms....saying there were absolutely none available for my travel dates. I hadn't even had the chance to ask her about a discount...she simply said that there were none available, that I had to book Savannah or higher. Oddly enough, ALL room types were available online, including standard, for my travel dates. And when I spoke to the CM this morning, she said there were plenty of standard rooms available. When I finally did bring up the discount, that's when the story changed...the alloted number of standard rooms for the discount were booked (so I'll be calling back to see when it's available since our dates are flexible). First CM had no idea I was going to ask about a discount, she just flat out lied about room availability. Goes to show you not to put all your faith in the CMs.

I have been going to Disney World for a while and I have never heard of a courtesy 24 hour hold. I have never actually asked for one so maybe it's something they do.

I didn't ask either. I just said that I would discuss the prices with my husband and she asked if I'd like to do a courtesy hold. I said yes, and she said she would hold it for 24 hours and then said "it's Friday, I'm feeling happy." Apparently not happy enough to actually do the hold.

Now that you mention it, when I called about upgrading our reservation to a package with 40% off room rate, the CM did ask me if I wanted her to hold the reservation for me.

If you feel okay using the code and it's been okayed by Disney when you used it, then don't stress over the nay-sayers. Just keep in mind there's a chance it may not be honored. Otherwise, just let it roll off your back. :)

Exactly what my original post was trying to say.. Thanks again.

Does anyone know if there's a time limit on receiving these PINs? I haven't gotten one yet, but I don't want to give up hope! Should I just call and see if one is attached to my name??

The e-mail I got with my pin says must be booked by March 15th. However from the sounds of it the discounted rooms are going fast.

I've actually already booked our trip, but I was hoping to apply the discount to it. I guess I'll just call in the morning to see if I can do that. I don't imagine they automatically apply it without you asking....

That would be your best bet. But remember they only block off a certain amount of rooms for a particular code so keep that in mind.

Thanks! We're not too picky about our rooms, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Just remember, you were going to Disney anyways regardless of the code to begin with, so don't let it take away from the fun you will have. Going to Disney is about being a kid again and just having fun, not if you got a code or not. However it sounds like to me you already know this.

Absolutely - I'm completely psyched to go - the code would just be a little bonus:)

The CM's were saying the same thing about the computer glitch last year too.. Disney would honor it.. and they did not.. only one night was honored.. but then again, the discounts were much steeper.. I paid $55 including tax for the Poly concierge lagoon view room!! and $10.20 for PO-Riverside.. my sister got BC concierge for like $22....

Yeah, I got the 40% off code. But we had the package booked through AAA already so this is just icing (a big icing I guess) on the cake :)

Of course, Disney ended up getting more money out of us - those scums. I budgetd $3800 for AAA discounted room at WL. With the code, it dropped down to $2900. Then DW said why don't we book GF? So I upgraded to GF for $4100 ($300 more than the original AAA budget) using the code.

In the end, Disney took more money from me. Those *******s! :)

Disney is clever. Very, very clever.
