Everything Old Is New Again! - A Dec 2010 Trip Report : THE FINAL ENTRY page 45

I have just loved reading your report. It has been very entertaining. Sad to see we are down to the wire for this trip.

But I can't wait to read about Kaylene's adventure over at DHS.

My two best friends and I stopped for a little photoshoot on our way to Fantasyland.

It had been soooo cold earlier in the week that we didn't even stop for a Dole Whip. Sooo.....

I hope you dont mind but this just became my desktop background!!! Im going to need a rag to keep the drool off my desk!!! :surfweb:

What a way to wrap up a trip !!! 3 parks and getting those last minute things out of the way. :thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear all about DHS and where you went to dinner.

Awesome update. I love that you went from DHS to MK and ticked off those missed items. Madison just has the prettiest darn smile...she lights up a room (or a waiting area if you prefer). The last "family photopass" picture is one of my favorites.
Thanks. She does have a pretty smile, and she's figured out how to flash it and get what she wants. :sad2:

Awesome! Glad she got to see him.:thumbsup2
We were a bit worried. Streetmospher performers come out on the half-hour opposite whatever Disney Channel stage show comes out. The clock was ticking and we were worried we'd have to wait another full hour to see him again, but Disney Magic smiled on us and there he came!
That's really cool! As much as it meant to Madison, it looks like it must have been pretty special for him to meet such a big fan!
::yes:: ::yes::

I was hoping it was just a typo... guess not.:sad2:
Come on, you know be better than that.

I wonder what the other people around you thought about the guy taking pictures of Dole Whips in front of the castle. :lmao::rotfl2: I guess if they didn't know you, they just wouldn't get it.
Some were jealous. Others thought I was a genius. Most didn't care. :confused3

Dole Whip right before riding the Tea Cups... just doesn't strike me as being a great idea.
Let me put this out there: Dole Whip is a good idea any time. Any place. Always.
There, now that I've got that off my chest, we can continue.

I don't want to miss it, but not because I trust you! :rotfl::rotfl2: Look forward to reading more.:thumbsup2
Soon, my friend, soon.

I love that effect, too. My son was fascinated watching it appear.
Makes me want to buy a few rolls of fiber optic cable and start adding affects to my house.

Yeah, that is odd. Although it says "Beverly Sunset", so maybe they're cursing the sunset for some reason? :confused3
Madison is not a morning person. I think I've heard her cuss the sunrise before.

I remember that story--that was incredibly magical! Did Otto remember her at all?
If he did, he didn't break character to show it. (But I mean, come on, how can you forget Madison?)

I hear a few big boys still get excited about trains, too. :rolleyes1
:wave2:

The "Try the veal" joke seems to fit perfectly here.
Do they have veal at WDW? Maybe some fancy schmancy place like the Grand Floridian or something...:confused3

Here, Bambi, have some Dole Whip. It's swirled very nicely. Why not take it with you on the ride? If you feel yourself getting nauseous, just look into the center of the cup.
What if I gave you a Dole Whip and sent you on Tower of Terror? Would that work?

Boy, she's taking a lot of hits for the team here.
She sure did. But just wait until the day she had in my next Trip Report. :duck:

Does it cost anything to experience one of these? They look pretty cool. :goodvibes
Something tells me you'll get one on the house in July...

Yeah, eat up now. You won't want to after reading her story.

Great update!
Thanks!

I'm glad that Otto was able to finally <ahem ;) > meet Madison in person!
I'm sure so was he.;)

I am fearing that these two beauties may fall off of the railing...they're perched so precariously. It's like watching Michael Jackson holding Blanket over the railing of that balcony. :rotfl2:
I am a trained professional. Don't try this at home. No Dole Whips were harmed during the taking of this picture.
They were, however, devoured shortly thereafter.

I'm glad they found a Flynn Rider character who can pull off "the smolder".
He was pretty good. Rapunzel was pretty spot on too.

Now you are copying me????
Absolutely not. I'm copying Mel and Juliana.

Love the tie dyed shirts!!! They look pretty good! Now when are you gonna make us some? :lmao::lmao:
Thanks. Don't you have your own?:confused3
The PP photographer at WL took some great pics of you guys!! I think you have some contenders for next years Christmas card in there.
I have so many awesome pictures, I've got to start adding other religions just so I can send out more cards!

Thanks for the dole whip float pics.... I'm drooling all over myself here.
I'd recommend either at towel or getting your own Dole Whip.
Glad you were catching up on some rides and attractions you missed..... I can't wait to hear about the fiasco... wait a min- you didn't say it was a fiasco, did you? :confused3
I never really said what it was. It's more of a cliffhanger that way. But I think fiasco would be a good word.

great update barry!! like the pics!! the beverly shop and dole whips are great.:thumbsup2
Thanks Dave. I was pretty surprised to see that Beverly shop. Must have walked past it dozens of times over the years and never noticed!

I have just loved reading your report. It has been very entertaining. Sad to see we are down to the wire for this trip.

But I can't wait to read about Kaylene's adventure over at DHS.
Thanks for reading along! Don't be sad about this TR ending, I've got another to start as soon as this one finishes!

I hope you dont mind but this just became my desktop background!!! Im going to need a rag to keep the drool off my desk!!! :surfweb:
Drool is a common reaction. I have a higher resolution photo if you really want to soak your keyboard.

What a way to wrap up a trip !!! 3 parks and getting those last minute things out of the way. :thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear all about DHS and where you went to dinner.

It was quite a day. Speaking of which...I've got a little work to do. ;)

Dole Whip right before riding the Tea Cups... just doesn't strike me as being a great idea.

Here, Bambi, have some Dole Whip. It's swirled very nicely. Why not take it with you on the ride? If you feel yourself getting nauseous, just look into the center of the cup.

Don't worry...I have a strong stomach. I am married to Barry after all.:lmao:

Boy, she's taking a lot of hits for the team here.

That's what I told him. I informed him that he owed me a really expensive gift but it never came.

And so it arrived. Our last day at Disney World.
But we weren't going to let that simple fact get us down. Instead, we had 14 glorious hours left to enjoy as much of WDW as we could. And by golly, if that meant 3 parks in one day, we'd do it!

:sad1: for last days. :woohoo: For making most of every minute of Disney.

Finally, after what seemed liked hours, "catch up" item number 1 appeared!
Otto Von Bohn Bonn, Director...und Genius!
Madison has been a big fan of his for years. Every time we go, we make it a point to try and see him. He wasn't around on our earlier DHS day, but a little birdie told me he would be out this morning. During our last trip, our DHS day was very rainy, and none of the streetmospher charters were out. In a really cool twist of Disney magic, we ran into him (the actor) that afternoon while shopping. (Scroll to the bottom of this post to read the whole story)

We had planned for this, so Madison was wearing her "Otto Von Bohn Bonn Fan Club Member #1" shirt, which Otto promptly signed.
IMG_4740.JPG
Madison must have made this CM's day. He probably went home to his family that night and bragged "There was this girl at the park today and she had a t-shirt with me on it."

Catch Up Item #1: Caught Up!
Nice job.

Evan, like I'm assuming all little boys, is a big fan on trains. So...
That is a very good last day pic. Nice choice Evan.

After eating, most of the group went over to ride the teacups.
Now that's living on the edge.

I had a slight detour through Adventureland and Aloha Isle. My two best friends and I stopped for a little photoshoot on our way to Fantasyland.
You have impecable tasten friends.

Anyway, we wandered Toontown for a bit, then took the trail along the train tracks to Tomorrowland and Space Mountain. I had gotten Fastpasses earlier in the day and the plan was for Bambi, Kaylene and I to go while the kids hung out with Bambi's parents. Evan had other ideas, and for some reason, did not want to be separated from Bambi. So she took the kids on the TTA while Kaylene and I rode Space Mountain.
Did you get to bid toontown an appropriate adieu? That path was always so peaceful.

It was at this time that Kaylene and Kayden broke from the heard and set off on their own. They were going back to Hollywood Studios to see the Beauty and the Beast show and that evening's Fantasmic. More on their solo adventures in a future update. And it's a doozy.
popcorn::

...then took their spot up on the greeting area stage. While Madison waited for her turn, she asked a CM where Pascal was. He then produced the chameleon, who got a few good pictures with Madison.
It's pretty awesome that Madison recognized that a key character was missing, and that a cast member was prepared for when kids asked for him. Next time she needs to ask for Maximus.

By now it was after 3, and we had 4:45 dinner reservations elsewhere. (Telling you now would spoil the surprise.) We sadly started walking out of the Magic Kingdom for the last time, but stopped for one more quick Photopass picture.

Coming Up Next: Kaylene's Adventure's in DHS. Trust me, you DON'T want to miss this...
Great picture. Looking forward to hearing the upcoming updates.

:sad1: for last days. :woohoo: For making most of every minute of Disney.
:thumbsup2

We found out during that last trip that he's married to one of the other Streetmospher actresses - and she was there this morning too!

Now that's living on the edge.
We are a wild and crazy family.
You have impecable tasten friends.
My friends are impeccably tasty. :thumbsup2

Did you get to bid toontown an appropriate adieu? That path was always so peaceful.
Looking back, we should have held a moment of silence.

It's pretty awesome that Madison recognized that a key character was missing, and that a cast member was prepared for when kids asked for him. Next time she needs to ask for Maximus.
She's a bright one, that Madison.

Good Evening Folks! We have a guest writer for this update. I asked Kaylene to narrate her story for us and she was able dig up the repressed memories and share them here for our enjoyment!

So, to catch everyone up, Kaylene and Kayden were leaving Magic Kingdom on their way to catch up on some things at Hollywood Studios. On the way out, something landed in Kayden's hand. Luckily a Photopass photographer was there to take a picture, then smack it with his shoe.

Kaylene, you can take it from here...

We headed to Hollywood studios to catch some things we missed including the Beauty and Beast Show, the Indian Jones Show, meeting Sully and Mike

and another go at tower of terror... Then we got in line for Fantasmic with about 100 other people... That is when she joined us. A large African American woman wearing a bright hot pink sweatshirt snuggled up behind us with her significant other and her 4 or 5 year old son. We were approximately 100 feet from the bathrooms at this time- I take note as because Barry can attest, my son goes to the bathroom ever 10 minutes it seems...
As we are standing there in this crowd of people, the woman's son behind me announces that he has to go to the bathroom. She proudly proclaims, "Oh thank God I have a boy" and promptly produced a cup that she was drinking from and hands it to him and says pee in this. The kid takes the cup and tries to drink from it- at which point she grabs it from his hand and says, "Here I will do it" She kneels down and begins trying to direct him into the cup and tells him to start peeing. I turn away as I really don't need to see that, and frankly I am shocked that this is happening. As I am sitting there on the ledge that we were lucky enough to score while waiting, I all of a sudden feel warmth on my leg. I jump up and begin screaming... yes you guessed it. Apparently she sucks at aiming, because she directed her child's little aiming device to pee all over my leg. So there I am with a pants leg and sweatshirt soaked in some strange child's urine standing from where I can literally see the bathroom sign hanging.
Thankfully a helpful citizen heard what happened and passed over some of her baby wipes so I could clean up a bit. Meanwhile as I am wiping urine away the crowd around is starting to murmur and wanting to find out exactly what happened. I calmly explained that the woman felt it necessary to instead of asking her significant other or even one of the 100's of strangers surrounding her to hold her spot so she could take her child to the bathroom, she felt it would be a better option to have her child pee in a cup.
It was about to this point in the story when I felt wetness again on my leg. You guessed it, she was at it again. Apparently the child still needed to pee and she was trying to help him finish the job. At this point I proclaimed, "Oh my God, I consider myself a calm person, but this is ridiculous! He just peed on me again!" I turn to the woman and say "Do you have a mental deficiency? I can see the bathroom from where I am standing! What is wrong with you?!?!"
She finally speaks up and says, "I'm sorry ma'm..."
I yelled back at her, "I'm sorry isn't good enough!" At this point the crowd that is around us is pissed and they all start yelling at her also. She just turned around and ignored everyone. At this moment the line begins to move and she shoves past everyone dragging her child with. I thought well, "at least I won't have to be peed on again" and went to find a seat. Then a lady - I think the one who gave me the wipes - came up beside us and asked if we were okay and if there was anything she could help with. She felt so bad. She told me that I need to talk to a Disney person about this - she of course said this as we were passing one.
They stopped me and asked if everything was okay. I explained everything that had happened, and the poor kid had a paniced look on his face and said, "you need to speak with my boss!"
He had us wait off to the side for his boss. He came over and I explained the whole situation to him... that this was our first ever trip to Disney... our last day of our trip etc... He asked if I was okay, and at this point Kayden piped up and said, "No she is not - she's covered in pee!" The guy asked us to sit over in a roped off section and wait there... we waited there for about 10 minutes and he returned with a new sweatshirt for me so I could take the pee one off. He told us we could sit where we were in the VIP section - which happened to be right in the dead center middle with no one around us in a roped off box. Awesome seats!
Meanwhile everyone else is so close to each other I swear you couldn't fit a piece of paper between them. The guy asked if I thought I could pick her out. I stood up and what did I see? A hot pink sweatshirt about 50 rows down right in front of me. He walkied to another person who he no doubtibly filled in on the situation. Soon there were 2 Disney Cast Members talking with her and escorting her out while the son stayed with the significant other (which I was really happy about - it wasn't fair for the child to have to missed out just because his mother had a mental deficiency)
At this point the guy asked if he could get us anything and I said no, and again Kayden piped up and said, "I would like some popcorn and a water please." The guy left and soon returned with both for each of us and apologized again. The show was starting so I thanked him for his services and he left. We watched the show, and as we were collecting our things to leave, this man appeared again with fast passes for Toy Story and Tower of Terror for the 2 of us. He said he knew that it didn't make up for it, but he hoped the rest of the trip was good. Since it was so late, we ended up not using the Fast Passes, but none the less it was a nice offer. All in all it was a fantastic trip, but it sure did end on a pisser! ;-) It sure has been a great story to tell though! LOL

Thanks Kaylene!

And don't worry folks, Kaylene and Kayden have express a lot of interest in going back to Disney World. But they did mention something about wearing ponchos the entire time...:rotfl2:

Coming Up Next: The rest of us stay dry and head to park #3

Oh my God. I don't even know what to say.

I have seen a lot of strange things in my lifetime, but this takes the cake. :scared:

To Kaylene and Kayden, I am so sorry this happened to you, but am glad that you were taken very good care of by the CM's at Disney and that you didn't let it mar your trip.

Urine luck!

Seriously though, what an awful thing to have happen to you. I'm glad that Kayden piped-up with some ideas about how they could make it up to you.

We found out during that last trip that he's married to one of the other Streetmospher actresses - and she was there this morning too!

Dorma Nesmond?

OMG! :scared1: I'm shocked. I can't even imagine. Kaylene- I'm impressed with your handling of the situation :worship: Not sure I would have been as nice after the first shall we say shower.

OMG that sounds terrible and yet somewhat funny all at once. I love how Kayden managed to bag free popcorn ;)

Don't worry...I have a strong stomach. I am married to Barry after all.:lmao:
Hmmm... hadn't thought about it that way. :lmao::rotfl2:

By the way Barry, you might want to go with less puns in the next TR and more one liners from Bambi! :thumbsup2

In regards to the last update:

WOW :scared1:
I don't know what is worse, the fact that she feels the need to have him pee in a cup in the middle of a crowd, or the fact that he's 4 or 5 years old and she has to hold it for him. I'm sorry about your experience, there's a good chance if that had happened to me, I might have been the one escorted out by security.

Even though it really can't make up for being peed on, I'm glad the CM's were there to at least get you some dry clothes and take care of you. I liked Kayden's move to get some water and popcorn though! :thumbsup2popcorn:::drinking1
