The slide at SAB is soooo fun! It's weird because when we stayed there nobody ever asked to see room ID for wristbands.

It was VERY cold when you get out but the lifeguard giving the wrist bands suggested that we go in the hot tub and then go back to the room and when we did that it wasn't bad at all!!!

I figured it's probably the only time that I will stay at YC at $200 bucks a night for one night so why not take advantage of the pool?!

Wow that is crazy!! One of my roomies filled in as a lifeguard there a few times and she said they always checked IDs for wristbands..some other guy asked about it too and the guard said that it's only certain times of the day and when they are super busy.

HAPPY TUESDAY DIS!!!!!!

I decided to use blue because we are having a snowy Tuesday!! I've lived in Cincinnati since May and this is only the 2nd time it has "snowed" since I moved here. I say "snowed" because the most we got was an inch or two which melts in the next day or two so it's nice

This will be my last update until after the weekend. 3 of my former WDW co-workers/roomies are coming to visit!!!! I thought I would share some pics of us having fun w/characters!!!!

M is flying into Indiana from CT and is staying with K. K and M are driving to Cincinnati on Friday!! and J lives in Chicago and is driving to Cincinnati on Friday for the weekend!!! J and I worked together at AK. M was an intern at AKL and lived with me during my AK internship and K lived with me for a year-she was one of my CP roomies who stayed on as seasonal at DHS for another 6 months before moving back to IN. It will be a year since I've seen the girls and 2 years to the day that I met K when we moved into our CP apt!!! How crazy?!!!

Remember when I talked about those 50% coupons for meals that I used...
The 4 of us got together last year and shared our coupons so we were able to wine and dine all over property x8!!

So that's who I will be entertaining this weekend in the cold 19 degree temps! Unfortunately my school decided to do a teacher training in a new reading program on Saturday and I have to go to it from 9-3 but hopefully we get out early. I'm kinda of sad that I have to leave my friends for that long but hopefully they can occupy themselves while I'm gone!!



NOW FOR THE REPORT!!!!

Day: 12/11 Part 2

When we left off we were leaving our new love, YC to our "home sweet home" : WL!!! We arrived around 1pm.

Now, I told myself, TAKE PICS ASAP!!!!!! Well, you know that never happens right away, not when you are the one checking the bags w/bell hops, checking in, etc.

We pulled up to the entrance and for the first time EVER, there was no bell hop there opening our doors and saying "Welcome Home." We actually had to get all of our bags out of the van and walk over to the little desk and ask the girl standing there for some assistance. She told us, here is a cart, bring it back here when it is filled. Now being a CM and staying on a discount I didn't mind but as a guest paying at that point $400 a night, I'd been mad!

We loaded the cart and brought it back to the desk. The girl said that it would sit here and if our room was ready to call and if not they would store it. I was under the impression it was stored right away but got our tag and we walked in....



AND NO PICTURE.

We walked past the bell hop stand on our way to the front desk and there were at least 5 guys standing there just talking.

We got to the front desk with no wait We were checked in within 5 mins and were told our room was not ready yet. I was given the option to have them call or text me when the room was ready. I opted for the text. I was also curious to see if they had matched my requests that I called in. She could not provide the room number but did assure us we were in the inner courtyard and on the 3rd floor . We took the packet and room keys and headed to Roaring Forks to grab a drink.

After a quick drink we headed to the bus station and got a bus to MK!!!
We waited maybe 5 mins. We has stayed at WL 4 times before we realized that WL had a bus to MK. It was 100x faster than the boat and better in rain!

Now the test of all....

WOULD MY ID WORK?!!!

I walked up to the CM line and gave the CM my ID. She confirmed the year on it and took my main gate pass. I had to do my finger print:


ACCESS DENIED...

You've got to be kidding me. I thought I was going to cry. The CM said no wait try it again, it's been awhile.

ACCESS PERMITTED...AND WERE IN!!

Dm, Dbro, and Dd got their tix and we walked in and saw:

POPCORN!!!!!!!!

I had 6 free coupon's for popcorn boxes so we made our lunch of 2 popcorn boxes and 1 popcorn bucket. We ate on our way to COP. While were sitting on the very slow, very borning, Dm fell asleep ride, we got our magical text that our room was ready!!!!!

We decided that we had to ride POTC before leaving so we walked over to ride POTC with a 5 min wait and headed back to WL.

Hi Dis!!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!!

I figured by now I'd be in serious WDW depression but after having seen my friends that I lived with/worked with in WDW, I've come to the decision that for the time being, I miss them more than WDW.

We had an awesome weekend! I thought I was going to go crazy at school on Friday. The heat in my classroom was broken so we had to move all 18 of my crazy kids + their sleeping cots into the Kindergarten room which is 1/2 the size of my classroom and doesn't have bathrooms in it so all day from 7-3 it felt like we were constantly taking kids back to the cold classroom to use the potty. I thought 3 would never come!!

When it did, I left in a hurry and got to the hotel and checked in by 3:20. My Dd met me to get his Marriott points for the stay and by 3:45, K and M had arrived!! We chatted for a bit and then while I was getting ready for the night, J arrived from Chicago! We ate at "local flavor" as J wanted since she was in a new city and we had dinner at Skyline Chili. I showed the girls where I worked and we stopped off at Walmart for adult drinks and spent Fri. night drinking, hot tub/pool, and playing cards. Saturday, I had a reading workshop from 9-1 and by the time I got back, the girls were still getting ready . We headed out by 2:15 and went to Newport, KY aka..across the river from DT Cincinnati to a huge shop/dine/aquarium area. We did wine tasting, saw Leap Year, ate at an Irish Pub, and did some adult drink hopping! We were home by 12:30 and passed out by 1:30!

It was hard to say goodbye to my wonderful friends today I feel like they are so far yet so close except M who is in CT. J and I made a deal to see each other every 3 months since she's only 5 hrs away...4hr 45min according to mapquest


Well, now off of the sappyness of the day and on for the TR!!!



FRIDAY DEC 11TH 3PM'ISH


We had located our room on the 3rd floor and walked in and saw:

Dbro happily passed out in his bunkbed and mug

Room views:

No one in the pool, remember this was a 60 degree day and the only 60 degree day of the trip!!

After getting settled and breathing a sigh of relief knowing we had an awesome room, on an upper floor, and inner courtyard view which was requested in our reservation, I called bell services for our bags.

The phone call:

"Hi we are in room 3... and we would like our bags delivered please"

"Our tag number is...."

"Okay we will be up soon Ms. W."

10 mins later...ring...

"Um, Ms. W, we can't seem to locate the bags it will be a few more mins"

and then it hit me, we had never taken off our DME YC tags when we went to WL

ring..

"Ms. W, can we have your tag number again"

"Sure, ....., "
"okay and the name is under Megan W???"

"Yes..."

"Oh wait we found them, they were stored under your first name, not your last name"


wooo sigh of relief!!

Within 5 mins the bags were at the door!

We tipped Bill $8 for our 8 bags and began to unpack!!

Notice Stacy is not on the TV, I was veto'd very quickly with her new show which is less than thrilling, even IMO.

By 4:00 we were settled and ready for our next adventure,

DHS AND MAMA MELROSE!!!!


This is where I have to put in a little plug and a THANK YOU DOLLAR RENTAL CAR!!!

Sorry for those who are pro WDW buses but I have personally timed buses from WL in past visits as opposed to a rental car and it was just sooo nice to hop in a car and drive to DHS and arrive in 10 mins, thus giving us time to check out some shops and check into Mama Melrose early!

HI DIS!!!!

It has been come time since I've updated so I figured this would be a good time!!

I'll start off with some super sad news though My beloved manager at BBB, the one who did EVERYTHING to try and get me a FT job there, and gave me hours upon hours last spring when I had no other job has left BBB and is now at Epcot Future World. I'm not sure what till will mean to keeping my ID active? I'm not register trained so I can't work for her in Epcot so I'm just kinda shocked at this point as to if I should even bother trying to keep my ID. They say at WDW you never stay in one spot forever. BBB will miss her!!!

Now for the report!!

When we left off, we were hopping into our wonderful rental van and zoomed over to DHS. Before we had left we debated about taking the bus and then boat to Epcot afterwards .

The van won!!

In less than 10 mins we were there, parked..up close..and walked in!

We made our way to Mama Melrose for our 4:55 ADR. This would be the first test of my ADR nightmares!!! Would our ADR have the discount attached to it?!

We got there and found a HUGE line to check in. The lady in front of me asked when she could eat. The girl at the podium just laughed and said sorry we're booked until Jan. The girl said um, okay and left. wow!

I checked in FINALLY after 10mins of waiting and....

Megan W..party of 4 at 4:55 with....

40% CM HOLIDAY DISCOUNT!!!!!!!!!!! it had worked!

We were given a buzzer and in 15 mins it had gone off!

We were seated in this area:

We were greeted by our server within a few mins and ordered drinks:
2 diet cokes and 2 iced teas.

Dd, Dm, and Dbro got salads to start off with. I was fine with the bread and my drink so I didn't want an apptz. I wanted dessert!!

For our entrees we got:

Dbro and I got this-Pasta with chicken and Alfredo sauce :

It was AMAZING!!!! I ate most of it and gave the rest to Dbro to eat.

Dm got chix parm:

She said it was very good. I was into my meal so much that I didn't try hers to compare it to other restaurants.

Dd got pizza:

Also a huge hit and the first thing gone.

For dessert I got:

It was amazing and reminded me of the Chocolate Wave that you can get at Coral Reef.

I don't recall how much the meal came to but it was an awesome deal and great food. My Dm and Dd brought us here when we were much younger and had a horrible time and haven't been back. We think this is our fav restaurant at DHS now..aside from the atmosphere you get at 50s and PTC.


After dinner we headed to see the turning on of the lights!!! You know how it is when you get somewhere and you miss the start by seconds. That was us. We turned the corner to the start and the lights had just been turned on. Oh well!!

It was our only night to see the lights so we stayed for an hour or so. We also bought some OL pins..$2.50 each thanks to the WDW discount and my CM discount!!

We also had PP pics taken but they were not so great and we looked smushed together so we didn't end up buying those ones.

On our way out of DHS we saw:

We got into our precious rental van and headed to Epcot for Illuminations and EMH!!
