*EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON TR-Last Trip as a CM*OHANA..UGH! pg 9 3/14

Hey Megan, still here! Great updates!

That is an awesome seat in Nine Dragons.

That being said, unfortunately at WDW it is not usually the kids who have the meltdowns. It's the adults. I'm saying it from personal experience.

Whew!!! Glad mom and dad worked everything out! We only ever ate at Nine Dragons one time. We thought it was ok but not anything we had to repeat...your food looks great though. Makes me think it's worth another go around??!!

I just found your report and I'm loving it so far! Glad your mom and dad worked things out and the entire night wasn't a bust. Mama Melrose and Nine Dragons look soooo good! I love food pics! Haha!

Thanks for writing!!!!

I miss BBB so much! I went back and found your post of BBB in your last TR. I'm glad DD had a great time. I love all the FGITs but the one you had--"M" is not one of the bests but I'm glad to see that you had a good experience. I looked back and worked at 7:30 that day and could have sworn I saw your DD by looking at your pics!!

WL is wonderful :) If you booked a Bunkbed-courtyard view, make sure you call reservations and request an inner courtard view: looking at the pool. We don't like lower level rooms so I called and requested inner courtyard on an upper floor and got inner courtyard on floor 3 and it was perfect!! If not then I just wasted all this space lol.

Artist Point is the best meal I've had at WDW and I'll be talking about that in future posts. If you are on the DDP or want to spend some extra $$$ it's worth it! WCC is fun too! I've been for breakfast and dinner and both are great. I've been there more for breakfast. Roaring Forks CS is our fav CS. They don't offer much but it never seems busy..even in Dec and it's home to us as Cap't Cooks at the Poly is to you I'm sure! Pool is awesome..get there early if its 85 degrees like when we were there. The area is not huge and ppl tend to scoop up chairs.

I'm sure I'll think of other things and I'll update you!!!

Thank you sooo much for taking the time to share all of that info with me!!! :goodvibes I really appreciate it!! It gives us a lot to think about. We haven't decided what type of room to book yet.

Sad isn't it?! Oh well..it was over and done with :)

We thought it was good too. It was one of those "safe choice" kinda place. I've eaten there 3x now and have had good, hot food and great service and quiet setting so it's always a safe bet IMO.

Thanks!! :welcome:!!!!! I could go for that food right now as my food it cooking in the microwave lol.

You're welcome!!!! We always have a tradition of my brother and I standing on front of the totem pole in the lobby with the characters on it and compare over the years..also something cool to think about!!

HI DIS!!!!

After a snowy weekend, I thought I would take some time to update :) It will keep me happy, fuzzy, and all warm when it's 20 outside!!!

DEC 12, 2009
SATURDAY
CLP AND MK

When we left off, we had enjoyed a yummy, good meal at Nine Dragons. We thought we would stroll WS and get in line for the 6:45 show at 6:00. By this time it was about 5:15. We strolled over to Germany and were all engrossed with the gift shop of Christmas ornaments. Dd decided he would walk down to check out the CLP line for package guests (our line). After 10 mins he called and said the line was already to Japan (at 5:30). We said we'd be there in 10 mins. At that point we had bought some goodies in the gift shop and were checking out the German Santa show..the one with the toy soldier. It was my fav show of all the santas from the previous year so I had Dm and Dbro check it out. We then hurried over to CLP line and got in the line at 5:45.

By 6:30 they started letting us into the theater. We were supposed to hear Vanessa Williams but she canceled several weeks back and instead of changing the whole ADR nightmare around (again) we said we'd deal with Chita Rivera. We thought we were dressed comfty for the show but man it was still feeling in the high to mid 70s at 6:45. We chose seats, about 10 rows from the stage yet still under the cover in case of rain.

Finally the show began...

The show was AWESOME. We were sooo happy we did not switch the schedule around. Ms. Rivera was wonderful. You can tell she had done it before bc she knew the words to the songs, sang, and danced around. You could hear her perfectly and all in all it was worth every penny to have a close seat. I just wish my camera had been better as far as the zoom and flash were concerned.

After a happy show we headed around the rest of WS to do more shopping in England and to prepare for Illuminations. Dm and I decided to head to Mouse Gears to do some shopping and Dd and Dbro stayed in England for the Beatles show. At 9:00 Dm and I headed to the designated fireworks viewing area for CLP guests. Dd and Dbro were there at 9:15..at 9:30 they began!

After Illuminations we all decided what to do next. It was 9:45 and WDW so it was still early of course and MK had EMH! Dm said earlier in the day she was not going to MK but changed her mind. Dd said he was going to take the shopping bags and head back to WL to do some work and go to bed so Dm, Dbro, and I headed for the monorail to MK!

A little bit of shopping

And a little bit of this..

I never did see the Candlelight processional.

And it looks like my spot without the dinner package had less people. I wonder why?

I love the Candlelight Processional! That's cool how the narrator was so involved. Sounds like she did a great job.

Looks like Candlelight Processional was nice

What is Chita Rivera from? I dont recognize the name

The CP sounds AMAZING!!! I cannot wait to see this when we go in Dec.!!! I cannot wait to hear all about your evening at MK!! :goodvibes

Of everything Disney does I think CLP has got to be my favorite. We did the package one year and I think we would do it again. Well worth it. I mean you have to eat anyway right? Great update. Stay warm and I hope the next storm misses you.

It is such a good show!! I would totally give the dinner package :thumbsup2:thumbsup2. It's nice that you know you will get a good seat for the show as well as your meal. If you are on the DDP, I'm not sure I agree that it should take 2 credits but maybe that will change for next year?

It is so worth it to do the package!!

Not sure why? I enjoy the spot where they had the fw viewing because it is on a slope so it's easy to see if you have tall people in front of you. That spot is where we would normally stand when it was not blocked off.

She did a wonderful job, I'd see her again in a second!

She was the first lead in the musical West Side Story. She does mainly Broadway musicals and has won many Tony awards. I did not know of her either until I googled her when I found out Vanessa Williams was not speaking.

Hi Dis!!! Sorry it's taken me so long to update!!! Life gets in the way and you forget and put aside TR's I guess lol.

I thought I'd take the time to update today since I don't have school--snow day here in Cincy!!! Our center never closes but with few kids in the building, I got called and told not to come in :cool1: Too bad I've been up since 7:30 as if I were going in at 9! Oh well! We will have 11 inches when all is said and done and hopefully spring is here soon!

Update on mom's injury as of today- 2/15. Dm finally broke down and went to the Dr. who ordered xrays and MRI. The issue started back in Nov, we were going to get the xmas tree and had our 2 dogs with us. Dm was holding them and hit a ditch and fell down. The whole airplane issue set it off after that. The results of the tests came today and she has a level 3 torn lateral meniscus which means she will need surgery. My poor Dm has to have surgery now and deal with the potential of moving to Cincy. She see's the surgeon in Pittsburgh next week.

Saturday Dec 12th-
MK and a Mousekeeping Surprise!!!!

When we left off, Dd was taking all the bags and heading back to WL and Dm, Dbro, and I were heading to MK for shopping during EMH. We got to the gate to see this:

192.jpg

We got there and met up with my former WDW roomie-E. She was with some other WDW CM's so we said hi quickly and agreed to meet up on Monday at DHS.

We began to shop and realized Spectro was about to begin so we paid for some things and found a last minute spot and watched:

A view after the parade..people everywhere!!

230.jpg

After an hour of shopping we found the boat and decided to float back to WL instead of taking the bus.

When we got back to the room, we found the best mousekeeping job that we had ever seen. Too bad it was not the same the rest of the week. That girl must had been relocated to another set of rooms or on her "weekend."

This was set up with my teddy (who always travels with me)

234.jpg

Even our sink area had been all magical!

After getting settled, we all crashed and went to bed for our 2nd night at WL.

Great Spectromagic pictures! Can't wait to hear about MVMCP.

Thanks! We had an awesome spot for Spectro for just showing up and jumping in a spot at the last minute!

Haha. Well our school didn't close until 3pm that day but my co-teacher goes in at 7 and I go in at 9 so they knew by then that we were low with kids and I was told to just stay home!

Thanks!! I took the doll to school for show and tell the one day and the kids could not believe it was a doll and how it was made lol.

Hi Dis!!! Sorry for the delay in posts but once again life and my 4 yr olds at school have taken over!! Not much to report on this week. I got a "nasty" email the other day saying that if I booked at 4 night/ 5 day resort package by 7/3, I could get the QS DDP for free. I guess they have 3 promotions going right now, or maybe I'm just lucky?! In any event, I've been thinking more and more about a short weekend get-away trip this summer and making it just a resort/waterpark/DTD/mini golf type of trip. I think I'll wait until after Easter and see if they have a CM discount out for the summer.

Moving on!!!

DAY 3: Sunday 12/13/09

AM AT AK

When we left off, we were sleeping happily in our beds at WL. For our trip in 2008 when my family came to visit me, we had a similar schedule except for we went to AK on day one instead of laying around and going to the pool at AKL (partly bc it was freezing that trip!) We decided that for '09 we would spend the time at BC/YC pool and do AK on Sunday-the year before we took the morning off before MVMCP. Confusing?! Sorry!!!!

So when the phone call came at 7-whatevers, it was hard hard hard to get up!!! I believe I was the first one up that day and was happy to be going to AK and to see some former co-workers of my internship who are still managers there!! I got up and ready to go and took some pics:

237.jpg

238.jpg

239.jpg

240.jpg

...yes my shirt was wet. I was cleaning out my mug before the pic and the front of the darn sink was wet!!

We didn't seem to be in a huge rush that day but then again we were. If I recall (I don't have my passporter here at my parents house) it was going to be the warmest day and I had bigger plans than staying at AK for many many hours! The pool was calling my name!!!

We jumped into the rental van and were on our way to AK. We pulled up and walked up just as the gates were about to open. We made our way to the Cast Member line and a few seconds later we were in. My parents stopped to check out the "bug parade" when you first walk in.

If you have ever seen the "bug parade", that was a part of my job as an intern at AK and yes those boxes can be very heavy, especially with ice packs in the bottom!! I told my family that I would meet them at FP for EE and was going backstage to see if any of my former managers were around. I walked backstage to our meeting trailer and no one was there :( Bummer!! By the time I walked back on-stage and made my way to the TOL, the bridge was already filled and I said forget it and made my way backstage again and just waited until 9am and then walked onstage (Dinoland area) and walked towards EE to meet up with my fam.

We made our way to EE and I got there just in time for Dbro to get the FP and we got in line to ride the ride, not once, not twice, but 3x.

After that we made our way over to KS and stopped to see the Siamangs on the way. This was one of my animal spots while I was an intern. It is right across from our KDC-Kids Discovery Club station. We stood there and the current intern came over and asked if we knew what they were and I told her and she seemed shocked until I told her I did the same internship a year ago. I found out then that only 1 manager was on duty at the time and it was their intern manager who I did not know...bummer..oh well! After a quick look a the "monkeys"..(actually apes), we made our way to KS.

No pics yet again. For once ever, I did not take pics on KS. We did not see a ton of animals. We did see a ton of elephants and I txted my friend who is an elephant keeper there and thanked her for having her animals out to see! lol.

After that we made our way back to EE to use the FP, Dinosaur, and then we were hungry. We stopped and ate at FTBbq. I was sooo thrilled because I thought that they had brought back the cornbread muffins..alas they did not :(

After a quick lunch and some attacking ducks we decided we were spent and headed back to WL for the pool before MVMCP since it was nearing 1pm.

I did take some pics on the way out of AK as I had not taken any during the morning...

241.jpg

242.jpg

243.jpg

It almost seemed like deja vu being back there since I had worked there for 8 months. Totally different without my team of interns or roommates though!!

The whole time we were at AK, Dd wanted to ride KRR. We all really had no interest of riding it. We ended up not riding and Dd was okay with that I guess lol. He mainly just wanted to say that he was able to ride it in Dec with 80 degree temps...sorry Dd!!

While we were walking into WL, I took some pics:

We got back to the room and found that it was not cleaned yet so we quickly changed and Dbro took his school stuff and went, I'm not sure where and the rest of us headed to the pool!!!
