*EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON TR-Last Trip as a CM*OHANA..UGH! pg 9 3/14

12/14/09 Continued.

We got dressed and headed down to the lobby. We had some time to spare before dinner at 5:35 so we decided to check out the photopass/photoshoot in the lobby by the big xmas tree.

There was no one waiting there and a lonely photopass guy so we took advantage of him..for like 20 mintues!!!

We ended up buying a $30 package with 1 5x7 photo and 4 4x6s in 3 poses. I'll have to take pics of them next weekend when I'm home. They were the best pictures we have prolly had at WDW. The guy took his time and took several and posed us and just did a great job! We had some nice family pics, bro/sis pics, and mom/dad pics.

After our "free photoshoot, " we headed to dinner.

We had the two best server girls in the world!!

I decided that I would skip an apptz and get dessert until I tasted Dm's soup...

After trying the gross looking mushroom soup..I caved and had to get it. It was soooo good!!

For dinner, Dm, Dd, and I got salmon:

For dessert, I was the only one and got the cobbler. The cobbler was good, the ice cream was not so good. Vanilla would have been better IMO

Overall...best meal of the trip hands down. It was a hit for all 4 of us. We can't believe we have stayed at the resort 6x and have never eaten there. It helped that we had 50% off We would go back in a second!!!

I love WL It really is our fav resort. It might not have huge rooms but it has what my family is looking for and the only missing in our opinion is a link to the monorail but we won't get too picky!!

HI DIS FRIENDS!!!!

...Well, we have now come to the end of the trip report...just in time for me to start a new one next week!!!

My goal was to finish this one before I began my new one for my birthday trip next week and it looks like I'll be able to do it!!

I retook my Praxis teaching test today and I came out thinking that I had done good..for once and hopefully passed!! I then celebrated by going to get pampered at the nail salon with my Dm, college roomie, and her mom (they drove up from the Pittsburgh city area where they live). We had a great day and had some yummy Chinese for lunch. D-roomie will be at WDW next week with her fiance so I'm excited to see her again soon!!!


Now for the update..(2 part series)


SUNDAY DEC 13, 2009:

After our yummo dinner at Artist Point..our new favorite meal!, we headed off via boat to MK as you saw in the previous pictures.

We got there and I demaded to retake our photopass castle picture from the night before when fog took over the castle.

Man was I glad we did, we got some great shots! I'll have to take pics of the pictures that we bought and post them tomorrow!

After our castle picture we headed off to ride. I can't really recall what we did...JC for sure, the mountains and Peter Pan I'm sure!

After a few hours of riding, watching Wishes, then some shopping and the last dole whip of the trip...or so we thought, we headed back to WL to enjoy the last night of the precious hot tub, pack, and enjoy the last night in our room!

Officially on ETS it says 4/13 and I'm signed up to take the test on 4/24 if I failed it so it doesn't give me much time. It says if you pay $30 you can get the score over the phone a few days earlier. When I took the test in the fall, we were supposed to get the scores on 12/15 but we got them even before we left for WDW on 12/10 so hopefully that will be the case and I'll start checking in about 3 weeks instead of 4!! I will be sure to post the results

HAPPY SPRING FORWARD DAY DIS!!!!!

...and sadly the last day of the Dec 2009 trip


MONDAY DEC 14, 2009:

-Ohana
-A "Mini" surprise
-Good bye rental van
-Welcome to Cincinnati!

I would just like to preface this by saying, I know the reputation of Ohana. I have lived it personally. I have eaten there 3 times during my duration of living in FL and now 4 times after this trip. I have eaten there now 2 times for dinner (First time with my CP roomies for our "graduation" and with Dm and Dd for my birthday in 3/09) and twice for breakfast (first time with Dm Sept 2008) and in Dec '09. Every time except for breakfast with Dm we had horrible service..soooo horrible in fact, I'm not sure why I chose to go back especially when I would have TRIED to get Chef Mickeys or something else. I just figured Dd and Dbro had never done Ohana breakfast so why not...

BIG MISTAKE....

We woke up our last morning all sad that we would be checking out in a few hours (I was able to get 1pm check-out). We got ready and headed in our rental van over to Ohana for our 10'ish ADR.

We got there several mins early so we decided to check out the lobby gift shop because we always seem to find cute clothes in that shop that aren't in plain sight anywhere else. Dm ended up with 2 nice WDW long sleve shirts and something else. After our quick shopping trip, we headed up stairs to check-in.

There were people everywhere! as usual of course! I got up there to an older CM who looked so frazzled to begin with and told her the name and she goes wait..you have 2 ADRs a party of 4 and party of 6. I told her kindly that I canceled the party of 6 and it's just 4
.....story behind that:
When we booked the trip it was in June and not knowing if I would get those Xmas CM coupons, I booked my ADRs through WDW.com, then found out I was getting coupons and I had to book ADRs through my CM site so I rebooked and canceled the other ADRs but had to book Ohana for 6, then I got the coupons and had to rebook saying the coupon discount on the CM site so I had to cancel and rebook again and was able to rebook Ohana for 4.

Okay so the still frazzled CM said okay and handed us a pager and we walked over for our picture. Took the picture and stood off to the side near Kona and waited and waited and waited and saw alllll these other people going in but us.

It was nearing 10:30 and knowing the reputation of Ohana being super slow, I was giving them till 10:30 since we had to be out of our room by 1. Finally at 10:25 our pager went off..but it wasn't for our us...

THEY HAD NEVER WRITTEN DOWN OUR PAGER NUMBER!!!!

Okay not the end of the world but they said party of 6..no we're a party of 4 and she said oh your not the **** party...NO!!!

Okay well we have been waiting for you. How could you be waiting for us when you didn't write a pager number or call out loud?!!!

So fine we were seated right then and there and we were set at a HUGE table for 6 (of course) in the front section of the restaurant. But fine, we were seated and had to wait and all was fine. Our server came over and she was a nice older CM and seemed super frazzled as well. She brought juice and coffee and our welcome bread (the only welcome bread we got..) and no sooner did she do that and...

and..

After them we started to eat the fruit that had come. Dm got upset cuz the table was so big and it was hard to reach for things and I 100% agree with her but by then it was nearing 11am..no joke and we just wanted to eat!

Our platter came a little while later and we requested more fruit and bread..we got the fruit..still waiting on that bread though!

We took our time eating since we still needed to see Mickey and Pluto who seemed to be MIA at that point...

Finally it was after 11:30 and I asked the server kindly how long she thought it takes the characters to circle around and we had not seen 2 and she said typically a little over an hour. Okay fine we'll wait. and wait and wait. finally 11:45 rolls around and she says oh, I'm sorry the characters will be back out after 2 mins so they come out and they do the parade and we wait and wait and wait and the server apologizes again so we pay the bill. Finally Pluto came over just before noon:

And he insisted on taking a pic with Dm:

So at this point it was noon. Our ADR was for 10:05 I believe. We have eaten, paid the bill and were waiting on Mickey. FINALLY Mickey walks towards us and I wave and put my arms out for a hug and

HE STICKS OUT HIS POINTER FINGER TO ME AND WALKS AWAY TO ANOTHER TABLE

So after he takes care of 5 other tables he comes over and quickly takes a family pic

And he begins to walk away and my Dm shouts "UM MICKEY I'D LIKE ONE WITH JUST MY 2 KIDS NOW"

And it turned out to be a horrible pic

At 12:15 we finally left and were in need of one last dole whip!!!

We got in the van and headed back to pack up and leave WL!!


On the way back I surprised my Dd and told him that I had 4 free tix to Mini Golf so we packed up the van and headed to Fantasia Gardens before the airport!! By that point it was nearing the upper 80s and HOT HOT HOT!!

BYE BYE MICKEY!!!

After mini golf and our free golf balls that we got, we got in the van and headed for MCO.

When we got to MCO we checked my bag and found out we did not have assigned seats on the flight and Dd of course started to flip out. By that point Dm and Dbro had checked in for their flight and were headed to security. Dd and I followed hoping to get seats asap for an obvious over booked flight.

Security was fine and Dd and I headed one way and Dm and Dbro another and we did end up getting seats. We got 2 side by side on an old plane that did not have the cool TVs like on the way down but it was fine and everyone made it to Cincy and Pittsburgh without any delays!
