I have a probably dumb and already answered question, but I don't have the time right now to read all 10 pages. We are at WDW right now and have done 1 of 5 days. I haven't bought memory maker yet. If I wait to buy it until I get home, will all of my photos from our trip be available?
If you pay the regular price ($169) for Memory Maker, all unexpired photos in your PhotoPass account will be available for download.

If you happen to be military (active or retired), stop by guest relations and you can get memory maker for $89.

Hey Bryan ( @Accident )
Can you tell me, if I was only visiting WDW for MNSSHP, can I still buy the one day package for $59? does the hard ticket event ticket count as a ticket for this purpose?
I know we can get Photopass photographers to take our photo with our phones etc. but I'm thinking more about ride photos.

The type of ticket doesn't matter. The option will appear after there is photos in the photopass account to purchase. I haven't heard of a price change except that it went down to $59 last year. It was $69 for part of the year.

Thanks so much Bryan :-)

I thought I saw this some where but I can't seem to find it now. If I am linked as a friend, to share MM, I know I will see all my friends photos but am I also going to see all there plans? ie fastpasses and dinning?

not really a photopass question but yes if they let you. (there is some user control)

I think I know the answer to this, but I'd love for the Memory Maker experts to make sure!

Two trips coming up--one in May and one in June. The first trip is May 2-8. The second trip is June 21-28. Can I use the same Memory Maker for both?

Yes if you are careful but you're right on the edge of no...

The first thing to pay attention to is photos disappear/expire after 45 days from the date they were taken. So you get photos on may 2 that you want to keep, then you want to look at expiration as 45 days from may 2. Second is memory maker expires 30 days after you activate it so you need to make sure you do not activate it before you can download the second trips photos on june 28 or to play it safe with travel time june 29th.

Do the math yourself but a quick count looks like June 16 is the last day you can get your may 2 photos. If you activate memory maker and start to download on June 14 (again a couple days in case there is issues) then your memory maker will still let you download photos until july 14.

So you have wiggle room and can activate memory maker earlier and still be in the clear to get them for both trips. Just don't get impatient and activate it the second you get home or during the first trip.

But I want to throw 1 more thing out there. Have you considered annual passes? I just did the quick math and tickets assuming you have tickets for every day listed would cost more than an annual pass which would include photopass downloads and photos that don't expire for 365 days. Then you get the other discounts on food, merch, tours, parking if you are offsite, possibly a cheaper room. You might want to do the math to see if annual passes would fit you better. to me it looks like it's a money saver vs tickets so the rest is even more saved on your trips..

Is there a list of where to go for "magic" PP shots in the parks?

There use to be a site that had many of the magic shots listed with examples, I can't find it now and don't remember the name. If anyone knows what I'm talking about please help me remember, lol.

Photos will appear in your MDE whether you are an AP holder or not. The difference will be that they won't have the PhotoPass watermark across them, and you can download them immediately.

I have a question about the watermark. Last time we had MM was Sept 2015, it was paid for as part of my package. I could see the pics on the MDE app but they all had the watermark. Even when I got home to download some of them still had the watermark, most didn't however.

Should the pics you see on MDE app still have the watermark if you have MM? Maybe I did something wrong, I'm not sure. I know I was frustrated that the watermarks were there when I knew I had paid for MM.

The watermark goes away once you have activated MemoryMaker.

I think the activating and expiration stuff is confusing. So I don't want to activate while I'm still at WDW because I will be using up some of my 30 days and should wait until I get home and am ready to download/edit my pics correct? And the pics expire(disappear) in 45 days-is that right?

It's just flexibility. If your taking a week or two trip to disney and that's your entire plans. It's no big deal to activate it after you get a photo taken and you have a couple weeks or longer after you get home to download them all. This would let you get the photos, maybe post them on social media, whatever your desire is with them.. But for some that might have 2 trips close to each other where they could use 1 memory maker for photos from both trips, or maybe a longer holiday like an international traveler on the road for a month, then when you want to activate it becomes blurry. And then there is the issue that something unexpected happened and maybe you don't want to use memory maker this trip for your photos and save it for a future trip...

If you like to edit your photos (and disney offers this in photopass) you can edit with the watermark but that's sometimes in the way. Not everyone has the time to quickly do that and it's better to take the trip, get home and then start to edit and activate it giving them 30 days to get it done.

the important numbers are photos expire after 45 days (from the date they were taken). Memory maker expires after 30 days from when you activate it. For an annual passholder, you just need to get your photos before it's time to renew and they expire after 365 days and the downloading expires when your AP expires.

Does that make it easier?

As long as the pass was valid when the photo was taken, you have 1 year to download it even if you let the pass expire.

Yes very helpful! We are there for 7 nights-no other trips planned in the 30 days-and I should be able to find some time to finish up my editing and downloading in the 3 weeks or so that I'd have if I activated on day 1 of our trip. :thanks:

Thanks, Bryan. So, the "activation" starts once I download any photos, right? If I look at the photos but don't download anything, it doesn't start the clock?

We are a military family, so we actually have comp tickets for the first trip and military tickets for the second trip so no need for annual passes, but I do appreciate you thinking of that for me!

Correct, to take photos and see them (with a watermark) doesn't require activation. Also you have to specifically activate it and it'll make more sense how to do that once you have a photo in the account. It's not something that magically starts and there is a warning that your going to activate it which you can decline if you press the wrong thing.

I personally prefer to not activate it until I go to download a photo because things happen and you never know what the trip and the time after it is really going to look. It's a couple clicks in the app if your looking to post it on social media to do this so no need to rush it.
