We will be going on the 4 day Wonder in June. I was not planning on going to Palo's for dinner, but after reading the boards it seems it is a "do not miss". Can you tell me why? What is so special about it.....besides, no kids! ;) And which do you prefer; brunch or dinner?:p

Thanks,
Kim

You get excellent service in an upscale adult setting. We did brunch and dinner on our last cruise. The fish and risotto at the brunch was the best meal we had on the trip. Definitely go for it even if it means having regular rotation with the kids and then Palo's after.

BOTH!

Each has it's speciality! The food is out of this world! It's Culinary Heaven!

And I still have the extra pounds to prove it!

The food is fabulous, the service is amazing and the setting is spectacular....it is definetly not to be missed!!:D

On my first Wonder trip, the benefit was the idea of having an ADULT meal! Our kids were 3 and 8 and we had not been to a resturaunt without high chairs or bibs in a LONG time.

Going Palo was the gourmet experience that reminded us what it was like to be adults in a romantic Itallian setting. We had babysitting that was nearby, we knew our kids were happy and we enjoyed a LONG leisurely dinner.

i think aquagirl just about summed it up! and the view!!! BTW, is it possible to order that fabulous souffle from room service? just a thought. okay, everyone can stop laughing!

We misssed it...
YES on our first cruise we did not go to Palo...
did not want to miss anything else and actually our second cruise we did not go either.. and now we would not miss it...
Well on our 6th cruise we DID Skip it... We had Such nice Table mates that we did not want to miss the last night with them ....
But we did get to go to Brunch Twice so it was ok....

Palo is very nice and all of the things described above. The food was great, especially the chocolate souffle. We actually preferred the brunch to the dinner for a few reasons.

1) You don't have to miss dinner with your tablemates, servers, etc.
2) Better view...it's too dark at night to look out over the water, unless you go early or in a time when it stays dark a little later.
3) It was very relaxing..dinner was too.

Although we will do both again, if we were given a choice, brunch would be it.

ENJOY!

personally, we actually did NOT want to do Palo for dinner on either of our cruises. We didn't want to miss any of our dining rotations. I know there are ways around that, but for us it wasn't that important. We had brunch there, which was fabulous. For me, I think the menu was the clencher. I am the world's worst food influence on children....I don't eat seafood, and I don't eat anything green. I have a VERY strong gag reflex, and there is so much that sets it off. I pretty much stick to meat and potatoes. Brunch was fabulous for me, because there is so much more breakfast wise that I can/will eat.
Also, on the 4 day, the wine tasting was there, which was really neat.

I enjoyed the less-frantic pace of Palo - the smaller dining room, all-adult atmosphere, and more relaxed meal pace. The food was quite good as well, not the best I've ever had (France has some great restaurants!), but a great meal. The ocean views are not to be missed! I also liked having a table to ourselves - our tablemates in the dining rooms were very nice, but it was wonderful to be alone with DH.

I prefer Palo brunch to dinner. The food on the brunch buffet was truly fantastic (don't miss the dipping sauce for the tomatoes!), and the service was superb. But I'm still planning on both for our next cruise!

A quick note - brunch at Palo is only available during the 7-day Magic cruises, not on the Wonder. Just something to keep in mind as you make plans. :D

1. yes, the chocolate souffle is OUTSTANDING!!! (and I don't like chocolate...)
2. the service is excellent... excellent... excellent... (I like it. I like it. I like it.)
3. the host helped us get not only the brunch and a dinner, but brunch and two dinners! outstanding!
4. EVERY bit of the food was higher quality than anywhere else on board.
5. The brunch - two hours of food and fun and food...
6. The champagne at brunch...
7. The steaks were GREAT - and I grew up on a farm that raised cattle and I rarely find beef that is good enough...
8. The desserts (other than the souffle)
9. The polish Stollen bread with a light covering of jam, some whipped cream, and fresh berries on top at brunch - OUTSTANDING!
10. The experience of having such a wonderful meal on such a wonderful ship!

PS - If you have the option (she's there 6 of every 8 months) - ask for Eleonora from Sweden to be your server. She is OUTSTANDING!!!! ("I like it. I like it. I like. Excellent. Excellent. Excellent.") :)

PS2 - I haven't eaten there since LAST NIGHT and I already miss it!

my non believing bf could only call Palo "breathless"...the food was amazing! The service beyond exceptional.
its not to be missed..

Okay, just when you guys have talked me into doing Palo's and I decide on Brunch...I find out they don't have it on the Wonder.

Is there anywhere else to get the chocolate souffle?

I'm going to have to do some more thinking on this. I hate to miss any of the dining rotations. I have read about people double dipping, maybe I'll try that.;)

Thanks.

P.S. Montessori, you're right, that is me! ::yes::

Do a search on some recent threads this past two months -- posters mention that Disney has started offering brunch on Palo on the Wonder. I just don't remember is it is offered only on the 3-day cruise, 4-day cruise, or both.

I believe the 4-day Wonder is now offering the Palo Brunch. Others have said it is not heavily advertised so you need to ask about it. I think it would be on the sea day.

Anyone know what time brunch is at Palo's on the magic? Do we also need to make ressies for brunch as soon as we board, and is there a dress code for Brunch?
