Okay, I'm a wimp! Is the yeti part scary? I freak when things jump out at me. I've never been on Dinosaur for that reason. My ds-7 will love it I'm sure but me.... I'm still worried. What is the deal with the Yeti?

I am wondering the same thing. My 7 yr old DD will love the ride part, I am sure, but I am wondering if she will be scared by the yeti. She was still a little afraid of PoTC and HM last year when we went.

honestly the yeti is nothing to freak over. I didnt even realize we went under the yeti until my mom said "hy theres the yeti" i was surprised. Theres a shadow part duringthe ride where the "shadow" of the yeti is shown on the wal l and hes ripping the tracks up. I was more scared of that then i was of the real thing

He does not "jump out" at you.

But he is the largest fluid-motion animatronic figure Disney ever created.

Your EE vehicle enters a cavern where you pass by the Yeti at high speed.

He's not so much "scary" as he is "awesome" (in the classic sense of that word.)

If you get scared at Dinosaur, you'll be scared of the Yeti. I can honestly say that I cannot keep my eyes open during Dinosaur and the Yeti made me feel the same way! :) The good thing is, if you're not in the front few rows, it won't seem like anything, because you'll see it from a mile away!! If you wanna get a good scare sit in the front row. I only sit in the front for coasters, so...I guess I'll have to live in fear. ;)

I know I'll regret asking this but...

Why would you see the Yeti "from a mile away" if you're not in the front few rows?

But NOT "from a mile away" in the front few rows?

Every seat spends exactly the same abount of time "going by" the yeti at the same distance.

(They're all on the same TRACK.)

My dh took two photos of the Yeti when he and my dd rode it one afternoon. I can post them, but I don't want to ruin for anyone! If you want me to post it, send me a Private Message (PM me) - otherwise I won't post it!

I disagree. I don't think the Yeti part is bad at all. Dinosaur is very dark and loud so I could see why people may not like certain parts of it. But the Yeti part of EE happens so fast, if you blink you may miss it. I really don't think its the same.

I agree with Robo, "He's not so much scary, as he is awesome."

EDIT: I just wanted to add, the Yeti does not jump out at you. He is stationary and your train flyes past him. It really isn't anthing like Dinosaur.

The Yeti isn't scary, so much as startling if you don't notice him at first, but he is HUUUUUGGGEE.

I had seen pics of the Yeti before I rode, thinking, ok, thats fine, but until you see how big he is, it's not comparable.

But as soon as you would be scared, he'd be gone and the ride is almost over.

The Yeti is not really jump out at you scarey at all. In fact he is so big that you are rather in awe of him.

The scarey part is going backwards, very fast, in the dark! :thumbsup2

This is a thread up the page a little that has the footage of the EE ride. It shows that you stop for a few seconds while the Yeti is there tearing up the train tracks. Others are saying that you fly by. Do you just not really notice that you are stopped by him---is this the part people were saying that is like a shadow?

You stop when you see the animated...oops, I mean shadow of the Yeti tearing up the tracks, then at the end, you basically fly by him or under him so you actually only see him for less than 5 seconds (but it's WORTH IT!)

Pay no attention to the foolish posters who try to inform you that the Yeti is not real. They are crazy and would most likely tell you that neither Peter Pan nor Mickey Mouse are real either. :confused3

I missed seeing the yeti the first time through. You only see the Yeti for a second. The yeti is not that scary.

The yeti is not convincing. You see him for a very short period of time. We thought EE was very overrated. One thing that ruined it was the ability to see palm trees and resorts on top of a Tibetan mountain.
