Everest Ride Contest: VERY upset with VMK right now

I just found out that my Team Leader inadvertantly wrote his Base Camp room as Base "Room" when he registered our team and room titles, and apparently we are now disqualified from the contest. My Team Leader is just a kid, and was in tears this evening. From what I've been told, he has written back to VMK a few times, asking permission to correct his mistake, and he's waiting to hear back.

Has this happened to anyone else? I am upset at the thought of this kid, and possibly other kids, crying because they think they've messed up their teams' entries into the contest.

I hope VMK gets back to him soon. If they tell him we can't be in the contest they will be hearing from me. I don't care at all about the contest for myself or CapeCAD (we're the only adults on the team), but I can't imagine how upset my Team Leader and other young team mates are going to feel.

Cape girl, the other girl member doesn't know yet! I wonder how young she is... The other boy member doesn't know yet as well. I know I am the oldest after you two and I am 17. I think one is 15. The youngest member is our leader and unfortunately is taking the worse, (as far as I know...). I hope the others take it well...

This was certainly very upsetting to hear when our leader broke the news to us this afternoon. However, how can we possibly get mad at the poor kid who make this very easy mistake? When he first told us, he kept saying, " I am SO sorry for doing this to all of you. I didn't mean to mess it up. You all can take me off your friends lists if you want to. I am crying in real life right now." I couldn't feel worse for this poor guy!!!

Sure.. we did spend a lot of time and effort into making our rooms, but none of it matters when a poor kid is crying over messing it up.

VMK has really made a BIG mistake is DQing us for such an outrageous reason! I am not mad at our leader at all for this whole mix up. I am only mad at VMK for having us go through this! (poor guy... I wish there was something I could do to make him feel better....)

I have to remember that I am a CL on VMK...so I won't say what my first reaction to this was

I am hoping that both of these problems are oversights and will be corrected. Truly, I do have faith that Disney/VMK will correct these issues for us. At this point, I am just concerned over our young Team Leader, and how he is feeling right now.

Suzy: I know how old you and your sister are (well close enough), my DSs are about the same ages, and I know if they were this involved in an online game and got disqualified from a contest, they'd be extremely disappointed, so I think this is disappointing for all of us, to one degree or another

Yes, All I Could Say Or Feel When I Found Out Was.......................NOTHING! When He Came In And told Us yOu Could Tell That He Was Sad Even Though You Can't See Behind The Computer. He Told Us We Could Take Him Off Our List And Not Talk tO Him. -- That Made Me Sad. Even Though We Worked Hard And Half Our Team Tried To HELP And Wrote VMK Help Line. We Still Got The Same Response. -- that the leader would have to write in and they would have to look into it. Well Right Now I Am Sad/Mad. Sad That This COuld Happen And Just Because Of A Word! And Mad Because VMK Did This. All I Can Say Is: What Has VMK Come To?
A Staff Member Came To The Room We Were In That Day And Said That "Rules Are Rules So It May Not Happen The Way You Want" and we knew that it is true but what is the difference between Room and Camp?!?!

A Hour Or So After He Sent The Letter In About Us Being Back In: He Sent Me A Message.

Message:
"No Message Yet." -- he said this a lot. and it made me realize how impostant this is to him and our team. and it is really sad to see him take it out on himself by saying it's all his fault.

I Hope He Is Okay And I Hope Other Teams Are Not Having These Same Stories Going On...

Cape, I am not disappointed in that I will most likely not be involved with this, I am more upset that you and cape dude spent all that time and effort on your rooms for this, and everyone else on the team who really put a lot into this ride.

I onle took 500+ pictures of EE to do this ride. not a big deal or anything, not like I SPENT HOURS MAKING MULES AND GETTING CREDITS AND ICE FOR IT!

Our leader wrote VMK about it, but we have yet to hear.....

You know, I have to laugh at this. We were originally going to call our team the Miss Fits, but changed our mind because of the dictionary dance. LOL.

Seaspray, I hope that everything works out for your team. I think I had said to do you that I thought that this was a complicated event for a game that is supposedly geared to 8-14 years olds.

this event is complicated. I have to agree. I mean just with the 'friends only' option on rooms now could ruin an entire team!!

I hope this works out! Seems like an easy enough thing to have corrected!
