My sister and I land at MCO around 10AM Sunday. Figure about 1-2 hours by the time we get on the ME bus, get to Pop, and see if we can check in. This is a SHORT trip and since we're not huge AK fans we were planning to skip it. Well, now we want to go to see if we can ride Everest! Should we head there right away and check out the FP situation, figuring it might be close to 1-1:30 by that point? Or should we head there first thing Monday morning and then hop to whatever other park we're doing? We plan to hop a bit because this is a "highlights" only trip because we're only there 3 days.

well if you havent already gone i will tell you that if you arent a ap holder or dvc member you wont be getting in...we went thursday and lucked out..they let our kids go on which arent members..we are though..anyways it was my sons birthday so the guy gave him a fastpass which got us right on the ride...it was great..we rode it twice..then we heard later that they werent letting anyone in if you werent one of the two things...sooooo..if your a member definitely ride it...if you arent ..dont waste your time..also..they preview is over sunday....

The preview weekend is over.
Your only (very remote) chance would be is that they are running it on a soft opening which means no schedule and no fastpasses available.
And the only way to find out is to walk to the ride and see if you can get on.
Calling Disney will not provide you any response other than an estimated official opening date in April.
the reason I anticipate the chances to ride to be slim is that they just finished running the ride to it's maximum for (4) days solid. They are now assessing that preview run and planning what things to tweak.
But then again maybe a cast member can chime in on how soon they might run soft openings after the busy preview.
Could be Monday of next week...or one day this week...or not at all for several weeks....it would help if one of the cast members that work Everest was an avid poster on this board??
Good luck

I have a feeling they are going to keep it open but won't publicize it. In Sunday's paper there is an ad for Disney's value resorts for $79 a night for the nights of 2/20-4/8 at Florida resident rate. The ad says on the top Fear the mountain Not the price then goes on to say Our newest ride Expedition Everest will leave you with chills. The resort rate won't. Then it says Florida residents can book now and be on of the first to ride Expedition Everest. To me that sound slike it will be open with out being public since the rate goes from the end of Feb thru early April. If it isn't officially opening until April I don't see them saying that in the ad for it only being open for 8 days or so. I can only hope!!

yea i bet you are right...florida residents will come in packs to see the yeti!!!...he is very scarey i must say...the ride is awesome !!!!! :thumbsup2
