I forgot to add a fridge to our reservation, so I called and the agent was so nice and added the fridge. My husband is on Humira for his Crohn's disease and it must stay in the fridge. I asked if there would be a charge and she said that it was $15 per night, but to ask at the desk if they would comp it since it was medical. She did note that the fridge was for his medication. Should I call the hotel directly to see if they are going to charge me, or do they usually comp it? If we are going to have to pay for it...I will just haul our plug in cooler down to avoid the cost.

They will generally comp if it is for medicinal or baby storage reasons.

your only concern was to make the ressie for the fridge.
sometimes the hotels do run out.

but now that you have the fridge marked as 'medical purposes', the front desk will waive all fees on it when you check in.

Thanks Damo and Macraven. I just wanted to make sure. I would rather bring our own instead of paying $75 for it if I needed to.

If they say they are going to charge you, just tell them that we said they wouldn't. :rotfl2:

I agree with the others who said they should comp it for medical purposes. if anything, tell them you were told when you made your reservation that you would get a free fridge for medicine. But I think you should be ok.

I don't like to name drop, BUT if I have to throw down that I know Damo and McRaven...I will. Maybe if they try to charge me, I can complain about the spotlight and get the room, and fridge free.:lmao::lmao:

if you close the black out curtain, the lights will not bother you.....

You won't be charged. DH takes something that needs to be refrigerated, but he forgot to mention why we needed the fridge at the desk. When the employee came to deliver the fridge, someone mentioned it, and the employee said that it would not be charged and he would let the front desk know. And he did, and we weren't charged.

That's a horrible thing to do to a baby....now a teenager...that's a different story.
