Ever been on a NYE cruise?

Has anyone ever been on a NYE cruise before? If so...can you share your experience, or what Disney does for that holiday, or what your favorite things were, etc...?

I was on Wonder last NYE. The special things that I can think of are : a special lithograph given to all guests, a box of chocolate truffles and a giant Mickey head in chocolate, free champagne on deck before the NYE fireworks and countdown, NYE hats for everyone, a deck party after midnight. The Christmas decorations were taken down between the previous cruise and ours - we sailed on Dec. 30th.

All in all, it's probably the best place to celebrate NYE with your family.

We just did the NYE Cruise on the Fantasy which left December 31st. We have been on 14 cruises and this was our favorite along with the Med Cruise. Everything the above post described is what we experienced. Deck party was a lot of fun. It was a great place to celebrate New Years! This was the first cruise where they had approval for two nights of fireworks, one night for NYE and one for Pirate night. This was our first cruise on the Fantasy and we loved the ship which also plays a part in our rating. Would love to do a New Years Cruise again!

The only reason would be to get the OBC. That is what we did. We also transferred our reservation to Costco. We received a Costco gift card with 8% back of our cruise total shortly after we got home.

We did NYE cruises in 2012 and 2013. Similar experiences to what has been mentioned regarding the NYE Party and gifts. We loved them and would totally do them again.

We sailed on the Magic on NYE 2015/16. It was a 3-night cruise, from December 31st through January 3rd. There was a deck party during the hours leading up to midnight, and fireworks at midnight on NYE. The characters wore special New Year's costumes that evening. All guests got a plastic party hat & horn, and every stateroom got a box of chocolates and a DCL New Year's lithograph. The Christmas decorations were still up on the ship, but were not on Castaway Cay. They began taking the ship Christmas decorations down while we were disembarking.

My favorite things were seeing the characters in their New Years' finery , and for once getting to participate in a lively New Year's party with fireworks that didn't require an hour's drive home through gridlocked traffic. We just walked back to our cabin afterwards. The weather was lovely, too. Highly recommend it.

We were on the 2015/2016 NYE cruise on the Wonder out of Galveston. It was great. Susan Egan, the original Beauty and the Beast's Belle on Broadway, was a special guest entertainer on the cruise. The Christmas decorations were left up for our cruise, which was a special treat. Our New Year's Day stop was Nassau and we arrived in time to watch part of the Junkanoo Parade. It was fabulous, I've never seen anything like it. Our NYE cruise was so much fun we are planning on doing it again this year on the Wonder.
