I keep asking my bf to stop going to redbox because it always ends up costing us way more that $1, but this time seems to have taken the cake. I was checking our accounts last night, and both accounts have redbox charges. Two different debit cards, charged the same day for a movie he returned yesterday.
Has this ever happened to anyone else?
He's supposed to be calling today, and I'm really curious to see what the reasoning is. These are two completely different bank accounts, one is Chase and the other is our local credit union ... I'm assuming he's used both cards at one point in the past, so they had the other one on file, I'm just confused as to why both were charged.

I ALWAYS wait for that message. There have been 2 occasions where I went up to a RedBox to check out what was available and there was a movie hanging out of the slot. TWICE. Whoever returned the movies put them in backwards, the barcodes couldn't be read, and the machine spit them back out. Whoever those people are, they're lucky I was the one to happen upon their dangling movie as I returned it for them right then and there. Hoping that someone would do me that same favor should I, for whatever reason, walk away before making sure the movie really was accepted.
We don't use the card very often, because it's our bill account, and not supposed to be used as a redbox card. He usually doesn't even have that card in his possession ... we leave it at home to pay our bills online.
