Ever beat Costco's price

Yes, Dana at MICDAN had a better price than Costco when we priced out our June 06 cruise. This was when the '06 prices first came out, therefore, I don't know how the rates would compare now.

HTH,
Dan.

I have tried to call them but they said the wait was like 27 minutes so I do want to call them back at a later time, so far I haven't found any cheaper than magic for less on a group sailing...

I tried Costco first but cruisequick.com beat them by over $500.

Costco has always been cheaper than Cruisequick but never worked with the other TA.

My kid beat up your honor student.....LOL!!! Sorry....this thread just sounds like everyone is one-upping the other!!!!

But, there are so many things that affect TA price quotes.....your mileage may vary each time so check many TA's and go with the best price at the time you want to go!!!

I agree with MMouse. You have to shop all of the travel agents you trust, and see who has the best price. For our cruise last year, CostCo beat everyone hands down. This year, DU had the best price of anyone for our cruise. So, shop everyone and go with the best.

Do you have to make a formal request with DU to see what it would cost or can you just go by the prices listed online and their listed rebates? I'm booked with Costco and didn't get a DU quote this time because I've gotten quotes in the past and haven't followed through with making a reservation. I feel like I'm a nuisance to get a quote and possibly not book again. Maybe since I'm already booked with Costco I couldn't switch anyway.

For our June 06 cruise (recently purchased) Costco beat, Dreams, Magic for Less and Allseas (and several others) by $400. (Dana never got back to me so I assumed she couldn't beat it). My last cruise Dreams was the best price. I'm not loyal...I'll always go with lowest (reputable) quote.

We are cruising 11/2005. DU was by far the cheapest TA. They were $1,600 less than DCL, $970 less than Costco. (This is for three category 9 cabins for a total of 7 people.)

This was a "group rate", one of the cruises that they list as special rates ontheir website.

I think that the bottom line is that for each cruise, you need to shop it around to as many travel agents as you can to find the best price. I don't think that any one TA always beats the others. Costco's prices appear to be very competitive, but I think it pays to check out all of the options.
