It is possible to stay at Epcot for more shopping and take a few drinks after the closing hour in a evening extra magic hours day if you don´t stay at any of disney hotels ?, are you allowed to buy merchandise, snacks and drinks if you don´t have a disney hotel key ?

1. Yes

2. Yes

Just make sure you are in the park before regular closing time.

EMH is not like a Hard Ticket event like the Xmas Party.

As far as I know, the only thing you can't do is ride rides ... that they will check for a hotel key card for.

I don't believe that you can stay in the park without being a hotel guest. As far as I can remember, they will stop you at various places throughout the park and will guide you towards the exits if you don't have a key card for the park. Even though it's not a hard ticket event, if you're not staying at a Disney resort, you should not be in the park for extra magic hours.

They do not clear the park of non site guests for EMH. At each attraction you will have to show your KTTW card in order to get it line.

They only stop you if its a hard ticket event and guide you to the exit.

This question is asked a lot I'm not sure why others are also not posting setting the record straight. :confused3

During Evening EMH even if you are not eligible to go into any attractions (ride or shows) Disney will (happily) allow you to spend money ion the EMH park by purchasing food, beverages and/or merchandise. They will just not allow you to enter any ride or show.

It is the "hard ticket" events such as MNSSHP, MVMCP and NoJ that they don't allow you to do anything without a wristband and (politely) usher you out of the Park.

Each person has to have their own key. If 3 people get in line, you have to show 3 room keys.

Yes everyone including kids need a KTTW card. I think I read a post where they didn't bring the kids cards because they never carry them around. Well it was in issue at every attraction.

So don't forget the kids cards. :thumbsup2

ok so what if my little kids wanted to go back to hotel with grandma and they gave their hotel cards to my sister's bigger kids that can stay out later? would that work or do they check names etc? don't want to be dishonest, but want to spend every minute at DW that we can :)

My recent experience during EMH didn't involve them scanning my card or checking a photo id.. Your mileage may vary. However.... Why would you abuse something like this, and either cause them to discontinue or make it more difficult for valid resort guests? I wish it was valid for annual pass holders. It's not.. unless you stay at a Disney resort. (I suppose there is one exception... One of the Hilton hotels?)

If your kids are 9 or under I believe that their room cards will be marked child. If your sister's kids are obviously older a cm could question it. I don't know how strict they are checking the cards. To avoid being dishonest you could list the kids as guests on your reservation if you have space in your room.

When I was there last year they checked my key card before every attraction. They did not check my name, etc vs a photo id. However, giving a card to someone whose name isn't on it IS dishonest. If you can get names on the reservation that's a different thing.

The one caveat I have is I don't remember every shop, etc. being open during EMH but I could be wrong.

I am going to have to agree here, staying in and spending time at a restaurant or store or taking in the sights together is one thing, abusing the KTTW cards and sharing them with non-eligible guests is dishonest, and although your mindset of wanting to get every disney moment possible, those moments are reserved for those staying in a hotel room that is paying disney money and is a perk for them.

If you don't want to be dishonest, then don't be. That part is pretty simple. You expect your kids to follow rules, right? Then so should you.
I guess when they get older, it will be okay for your kids to give their cousins their school ID and have them take their tests for them?

"...Extra Magic Hours, offer a rare and unique opportunity to enjoy additional time in Walt Disney World parks—above and beyond the standard operating schedule—at no extra charge. This special perk is offered to Guests of select Walt Disney World Resort hotels, and Residents and Guests of Golden Oak."

See, by definiton-it's not meant for everyone who is there at closing, it's not just for the rides. If your sister and kids want to stay late with you, then they should pay for a room, just like the rest of us have to do.

If you don't want to be dishonest, then you can't let your children give their keys to someone else. It is pretty simple.

I wouldn't worry about it. Let Grandma take the little ones back and let the big kids stay with their keys. We keep our keys in lanyards around our necks and just flash it at the ride entrance. Noone stops us to read them. Go and have fun. :yay:
