they don't use wrist bands for EMH anymore.

...and it's SO ANNOYING! I really wish they would bring back the bracelets. I am not looking forward to having to dig out my room card (AP) at every ride, and No, sorry, I don't want to wear a lanyard around my neck all day to keep it in. I'm still unsure of why they felt this was a better system![]()
I'm not sure, but I would imagine it was an economical (sp) decision. Why spend money on the bracelets when the room key would do the same job.
it really doesn't though. I'm sure many more people are lurking in the parks that are not resort guests. Even though they aren't riding rides they are still crowding it up for the rest of us.

The new policy is not to kick out the non resort guests so those people lurking around are allowed to be there.
It seems Disney figures they can get some more food and merch revenue if they let them stay.
The only time they should be shooed out is for a hard ticket event like MNSSHP where wristbands are used. Though there have been stories of people without wristbands being allowed to stay.

That is not a a "new policy." It has always been that way for EMH.
It has not been affected by the lack of wristbands.
In my mind it has because my EMH experiences in November without wristbands were much more crowded (though tolerable) than previous visits with wristbands. Granted it could be a big coincidence but obviously that's how I see it with my experience.
I agree it makes sense for Disney to let them stay. They spend more in food and merchandise this way. Easy for them to keep them off the rides, but letting them stay is good for business.

(I find that the last 90-120 minutes of PM EMH are usually almost "semi-private" anyway... MK and DAK, especially.)
While I think they should provide lanyards for your room key when you check in, can you buy them at any resort gift shop?
Just keep in mind that CMs may ask you to actually take your card out of the lanyard to check it.
