Evening EMH Planning Question

Hi Everyone! I need help planning my trip, mainly in planning around evening EMH's. I've never taken advantage of this perk, but I've read a lot of experienced DIS'ers reports on it. Here are my questions:

1) We're going March 26-31 of next year, a busy time. Is it worth it to do evening EMH? I've read about how busy it is and was just wondering. Anyone have any EMH experience with that time of year?

2) We know to avoid early EMH, but if we go to an evening EMH park in the morning and early afternoon (avoiding evening hours) will we be pretty ok?

I know it will be busy, but we're trying to minimize the crowds! Thanks! :)

We've had limited experience with the eveing EMH -- but have done both MK and Epcot. We hopped to the parks late in the afternoon, just for the EMH -- so no help regarding the day time crowds. We found that while lines were shorter, there were still lines -- around 20 minutes for the best rides. The exception that we ran into was Soarin' -- it still had 40 minute waits. (We came back right at midnight to wait for that one...)

I was surprised to see that fast passes were still being given out for some rides.

The best evening EMH was at Typhoon Lagoon. Maybe they'll be having those again in March...

An early arrival at a park following that park's evening EMH is also a good strategy (I think).

Have you been over to http://www.touringplans.com/BestDays.htm? Keep in mind that EMH days can change.

Also consider evening EMHs (non MK) when Spectro is showing at MK.

Goofy4, I did go to touringplans.com and it helped (and was very interesting reading, besides). I had our plans down to a science and then the evening EMH's threw a wrench in things. I'm trying to do exactly what you said-go to the park the day after evening EMH. But touringplans.com disagrees a bit.

Thanks for the info, silly_ol_me! I've heard horror stories of jam-packed evenings, so yours sounds pretty good! I'm not sure if we will take advantage of them at all (small children), I'm trying to use them to my benefit!

Keep the info coming! :teeth:

We had no problems in June with morning EMH at any of the parks. As most WDW veterans will tell you, a LOT can be done in a few hours if you get to any park before opening time (EMH or regular). We found the evening EMH a total waste of time in June. The wait times were longer than during the day. They do re-open some of the FP machines but without Fast Passes the wait times were crazy. After we used our first FP the next return time was way into the night so we just went back to our hotel.
The crowds for the evening EMH start building as the late afternoon turns into evening.
