Adult only trip to check out all resorts, what are the must dos? And other tips.

Which of these 2 would you recommend?
If you’ve never seen the Electric Water Pageant, I would definitely recommend watching it from Geyser Point. It’s classic Disney, one of the few WDW shows that’s been around for 50 years, and you’ll have a wonderful view. The MK fireworks from BLT are a side view, and of course you can’t see the projections on the castle which to me are the most impressive part of that show.

So I vote for EWP from Geyser Point and Luminous from inside Epcot.

I've choked up during the Festival of Fantasy which is seriously bizarre. It is so happy and upbeat. I think it's just the nostalgia of Disney hitting my emotions. It's a good thing I can cover my eyes with sunglasses since it's a daytime parade. 😎
If they brought back certain parade at DLR I know I’d cry for sure. Cant think of what it was called though.

Also my husband is going through some loss with his siblings so I think we will skip this. Thank you for bringing this up I honestly never would have thought about it with it being fireworks.
The announcer legit says something like melodies we cherish are gone and we're alone. It circles back with unity and not truly being alone, but this is something to seriously consider if it would upset him. ❤️

Okay I need help deciding. We did decide though that we will skip any extra fancy dinners since I don't want to be committed to having to go back to the room to change and freshen up first.

We will only have 2 nights. Which of these 2 would you recommend?

  1. TOTWL Book Wicked Wind Down at BLT (if available if not just try to get in the lounge).
  2. Geyser Point at CCV around 9:00 and catch the water pageant (have never seen)
  3. Be at Epcot to watch the Fireworks. (have only seen them partially once in 2021, my son is currently not a fan of fireworks so we didn't watch them last month)
I was not that impressed by Wicked Wind Down. Love Geyser Point.

Right now it would so we will save it for a future trip. Again thank you so much, I really want to take his mind off of things while we are in Florida.

No problem! I am glad it came up.

I've definitely read this entire thread, but I can't remember if anyone suggested this now.

Would you be interested in renting a pontoon boat?! I've done it multiple times and it's always fun! You can bring snacks (no alcohol) and connect your music to the stereo while driving all around the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake. DVC members also get a 15% discount. Kids under 12 need to wear a life jacket (free, but required) so this could be a nice adult thing 🤔

You can also do it on Crescent Lake, but you won't be down there this trip.

Yes we are totally gonna do this, but we will do it when my son is with us. Renting a boat is for sure something he will be okay spending less time in the parks for.

1 and 2 since you are staying on property

How does everyone feel about California Grill? It has the signature dining attire disclaimer but I feel like it's likely not as fancy as say Narcoossees? But also since its in the resort we are staying at it wont be as hard to go get changed as other restaurants.

They have a reservation at 9:30. Would you try to do a walk in at TOTWL around 9pm (Wicked Wind Down is booked up) or would you do California Grill and hope you can get a table with a good view?

California Grill is now a prix fixe menu. Not sure if that changes things for you. I personally prefer food at both Citricos and Narcoossee's to California Grill.

California Grill has outdoor viewing areas where you can watch the fireworks if you don't get a table at the window. You can also book a reservation earlier in the day, eat, and return for the fireworks later with your receipt and watch from the outdoor viewing area.

I know California Grill has the dress attire disclaimer about being a signature, but the only really strict place is Victoria & Albert's. You will see people wearing T-shirts and gym shorts in all WDW signatures regardless of location at a resort or theme park. They will only ask men to remove hats.

This is super cool to know!
