How are the crowds during evening extra magic hour? Morning EMH would be nice to take advantage of but we're not morning people and with two kids (4 & 1), it takes too long to get ready in the morning.

i will answer you, but i am not sure how much it will tell you, as it was january when we went, so it wasn't busy at all at any time.

we are not morning people, and dh was not about to get up early on his vacation, and neither was ds. so we were just heading to breakfast around 9:30.

there never seemed to be a crowd problem at all, as it is just resort guests and not all of the guests go to emh night. they are either at dtd, or back to the resort to unwind, or out for dinner etc. etc.

we never did a morning emh, but we did hit all the nightime ones. loved it!! it is so diff at night. the parks look totally diff, and the energy in the air is diff too, with all the resort guests there. its a private party just for us, and everyone is in a party mood. the air is cooler, the charecters seem more relaxed with the kids, peoples spirtes are back up again after that late evening lull.

i would give it a shot, and if it was to much for you all, then just head back to the bus, and go to the pool and relax. you don't have to stay if it isn't working. but you might as well see what it is all about.

either way you are going to be having a blast...you will be in wdw!!!

Thanks for the info. I'd really love to take advantage of the EMH but stories of heavy crowds during evening EMH got me spooked.
Disney also cut back on some EMHs during May so does that mean they're expecting less crowds during May. I wasn't expecting heavy crowds during early May but that might not be the case this year with DL celebration kicking off in May this year.
What to do.....................................

I think part of the reason they cut back in May is NOT crowd related, but rather due to Grad nights and other special functions that abound in May...they close the parks and then reopen for special groups.
