Just returned from 2 week stay at Disney where we split our time between a Poly lagoon view ( Tahiti ) and OKW (southpoint on the water). The wife and I have been down to WDW quite a number of times, first at the begining of our relationship to 7 years later where we are now accompanied by our 17 month old son. Now we like the Poly, and like the GF and Wild lodge even better but, being a parent sure makes you appreciate the 1 bedroom at DVC. Its hard to beat the size of the rooms, convience and atmosphere of OKW. Southpoint with its own pool/play area, waterviews and calmness (compared to say Turtle Pond area) has easily become our favorite. Going to the Poly after a week at southpoint almost was a letdown. The small rooms, noise from the neighbors, cramming the small bar frige with perishables and the feeling of being in a hotel just doesn't exsist in OKW. We didnt have a bad time at the Poly. The view was great, staff exceptional, walk in pool great for little one and food ( Ohana, Kona Cafe and room service) but I tell you I have never been so glad we joined (and just added on) than now.

I agree about OKW! What a great getaway! And it seems to do nothing but get better to me. The more we go, the happier we are with our choice.

I think the biggest intangible that people who are on the fence about buying have a hard time quantifying is what you just said...I do not feel like I am in a hotel at OKW and it really adds to the pure enjoyment and relaxation of a vacation. We just got back from 10 nights in a 2BR at OKW and we just "moved in"! It is truly home away from home. People ask, "What can you do for 10 days at Disney?" LOL
