.*Even Miracles Take A Little Time.* A Beyond Birthdays PTR ~Complete~

Hey Timmy!

I have to vote for The Lion King - it's a great broadway show.

Enjoy your Quebec adventures! Can't wait to hear all about them.

Tanz :)

Hi Tanz! How are you?

Wow, so many votes for Lion King, I may just have to go with it now ::yes::

Thanks Tanz, so excited! I'll be posting more info about it in my next update since I haven't given much info on it. BUT I will now! :woohoo:

HELLO TIMMY. So I'm obviously late but that's exciting that you might get to go to your happy place! I wish I could help out with your friend and the food but I have no clue, other than the stuff you already mentioned! I still need to try most of the classics myself!

Also, I've never been to a (real) Broadway show :sad2: but my sister saw The Lion King on Broadway in December, and she absolutely loved it, and even though I'm in love with the Wicked soundtrack, since this is a Disney board, I'd vote Lion King. :thumbsup2

Hi Marissa! Better late than never ;) Glad you could join in! :) And that's okay about my friend, I think he is already on the plane ride home about now with my pin and mickey straw in tow lol And I'm so glad I'm not the only one who hasn't tried all the classics

Awwww... well I hope you get to go someday, like I'm doing soon (hopefully). Someday I really need to get rid of those (hopefully) parentheses, it is starting to bother me. Anyways, The Lion King and Wicked I'm definitely into. I've listened to both their soundtracks so much, but I think with Lion King being around longer... maybe it is better I see that and of course, a DisFreak should see a DisShow :goodvibes

Yay, glad you're family is talking about Disney again! I hope you get to go back soon, I know how agonizing it is wanting to go SOOO bad and having no trip planned, that's the worst! At least if you set some dates, even if it is for next year, you will feel so much better!

Hope your friend is having a great time in WDW right now!

Thanks Jen! :) It is really nice to know they are being more open than totally disregarding me. Hopefully this is a good sign. :thumbsup2

I'll just say in my living vicariously through him, "thank you" and he is back already and tells me he had an awesome time :)

but my family has been happily talked about Disney. First, was in the car back from my trip up north (where I had a bad wipeout). We started talking about the last resort we were at (we were watching Princess & the Frog in the car and just got into a Disney conversation), which was Kidani Village AKL and how it would be awesome to stay at the Beach Club Villas if we go through the same person. I didn't hang onto this much, because my mom stopped me before I ran on, but then something else happened...

At home, we were watching Good Morning America when they announced the christening of the Disney Fantasy. My sisters got really excited and started really talking about Disney cruises. Then, they actually went to the website, I repeat, went to the website! It was amazing. I think the Disney gods were really working with me at this point.

Then, she brought up the fact, maybe we will go back to Disney to see all of that. So I was just jumping out of my seat and after this, I was just back into the planning game. From now on, I will be planning anonymously instead of upfront with my mom about it, so I can really work on it in case my mom starts really thinking about a trip again and have the best possible deal. ::yes::

Disney talk is a good start! :woohoo:

I'd be for Lion King on the Broadway show, too. It was here in Nashville several years ago, but there was some reason why we couldn't go see it. I can't remember why. If it comes again, I sure hope it works out for us to go.

Always a good start and I seem to be bombarded lately by Disney references... maybe it's a sign!

That seems like the popular one. I hope you get to see it too sometime, MeMom! :)

OFF TO QUEBEC... WHAT NEXT?

Alright, so unless you've been ignoring these updates completely or my very beautiful signature, it will come as no surprise that I am leaving for Quebec in just a day. So exciting! This is kinda the pinnacle for this PTR since I've been talking about it since I thought up my 16th birthday trip (that sadly won't be happening). But since that is not happening, I've decided to give you a quick run down of this trip:

DAY 1/ TUESDAY, MARCH 13, 2012-

This is the departure day, where I will be getting up early (nonetheless) to leave on a 9 hour bus ride to Quebec City. We will make stops along the way, of course, but it will be a long drive either way.

When I arrive, we will be checking in at our hotel and dropping off our luggage. Here is a picture of what the rooms I will be staying in looks like. We are staying at the Loews Le Concorde Hotel by the way.

2147_0_loews-concorde_fsa-g.jpg

(We will have twin beds but this is the best picture of a room)

After arriving, we will go to our rooms and get ready to for a tour of the Erablier Du Cap or the Sugar Shack. When we get there, we will have a tour of the Sugar Shack with a traditional French-Canadian dinner go... wait for it... DOG SLEDDING! Yup, dog sledding! I'm so nervous, but yet so excited! We actually get to learn how to mush and then ride in the sled :woohoo:

After that, we will go back to the hotel officially ending my first day.

DAY TWO/ WEDNESDAY, MARCH 14, 2012-

Another early morning, we will get up for breakfast at the Spaghetti House. I think this is the hotel restaurant, sounds really interesting. Can't wait to have a breakfast there :)

After, we are going to the Duchesnay Center for Cross Country skiing, which is another thing I have never done. This will be interesting to watch me fall all over the place.

After a day of testing my semi-uncoordination. We are going to see the Montmorrency Falls...

montmorency-falls.jpg

Then, off for a guided tour of St. Anne's Basilica (to make my dad jealous lol)...

st_anne_de_beaupre.jpg

After that, we will drive home and stop by Marie's Bakery to get some Homemade bread and maple butter to try. Then, it's off for a nice dinner at the rotating dining room L'Astral atop our hotel...

(It ain't no Garden Grill, but it still looks gorgeous)

Then, we end our day by walking to the Old City for a visit to the Famous Historic Chateau Frontenac. After that, we will be again in for a late night and finish our day.

DAY 3/ THURSDAY, MARCH 15, 2012-

On our last full day, we will have another breakfast at the Spaghetti House. After that, we will go on a 3 hour walking tour of Old Quebec. Then, we will leave for what the majority of our day will be at... the Val Cartier Sports Park. This is what I've really looked forward to. It is a huge sports park with a ton of tubing, ice-skating, etc. I'm very excited. I mean, look at this tubing slide:

VILLAGE_VACANCES_VALCARTIER5.jpg

(INTENSE!)

After that, we will go to the Galeries de la Capitale for our dinner that night, shopping and other fun. We also are going to see an IMax show here :thumbsup2

photogaleries2_30819_album-petit.jpg

Then back to the hotel for a good night's sleep... maybe...

DAY 4/ FRIDAY, MARCH 16, 2012-

Now, for our last day, we will be going to the Spaghetti House for another breakfast. After that, we will check out of the hotel and load our luggage then head off to Old Quebec for a Scavenger Hunt. We will get on the bus for the afternoon and then get back at Souhegan later that night.

And that is my trip! Short, but with a lot built in. I found my camera yesterday and will be using it a lot so I can write a nice little "TR" of sorts for y'all. Speaking of which, I have some sad news for you all...

Since, it does not seem I have any actual Disney trip in the works, I will not be continuing this TR after the Quebec trip. It seems this PTR is just taking up internet space for me and I think when a trip actually comes around a PTR that has gone over three trips cancelled thereafter would be too bittersweet. So, I will be around to tell you all about my special trip and maybe the play since I'm sure it will take awhile to get through this extreme trip. I do believe there will be a trip for my family and I coming soon because... I'm going to be onto bigger better things two years from now, so I'm sure my mom will be dying to take a few more Disney trips with her clearly obsessed son lol

All aside, I hope everyone has a magical day!

:maleficen

Hi Timmy! I've just finished catching up on all your updates! :goodvibes

I'm sorry to hear about your wipeout! That sounds awful! But way to go on getting your family start talking about/considering Disney again! That's a step in the right direction! :thumbsup2

I've always wanted to see The Lion King on Broadway. It just looks like such an amazing show, and as I'm sure you already know, I heard they use music from Lion King and Lion King II!

I hope you have a wonderful time in Quebec! It sounds like you've got a lot of fun stuff planned. I can't wait to read all about it! :)

I'm sorry to hear you won't be continuing your PTR...hopefully you will have a new TR to write very very soon! ;)

Wow you leave so soon! SO exciting. The hotel sounds so fancy. It looks beautiful! Sugar Shack reminds me of Glee...

For some reason it strikes me as hilarious that yall are eating breakfast at the SPAGHETTI HOUSE. Like I'm picturing the scene from Elf where Buddy puts the maple syrup and M&Ms and chocolate pop tarts on his spaghetti. Hopefully yall will have a breakfast that will NOT make you gag!

That tubing slide looks unbelievably awesome! All in all it sounds like a great trip! And yeah, it's understandable that you wouldn't want to continue the PTR... but the good news is that as soon as you know of a definite trip, you can start up a new one! :thumbsup2

Hi Joni! Glad you caught up! (:

Oh my gosh, it was awful! My nose still feels weird, I don't like it at all :( But Disney being brought up again was a bright spot afterwards! Hopefully it is a sign for good things to come :hyper:

I've always wanted to see The Lion King on Broadway. It just looks like such an amazing show, and as I'm sure you already know, I heard they use music from Lion King and Lion King II!

I've listened to most of the songs on my iPod and I'm just so rearing to go. I think I might as well just go with first instinct :D And yup, I knew that. Actually, "He Lives In You" came from The Lion King on Broadway, because it was such a powerful and popular song they added it to the sequel. Cool, right?

I hope you have a wonderful time in Quebec! It sounds like you've got a lot of fun stuff planned. I can't wait to read all about it! :)

Thanks Joni! I'm so excited, they really put together a lot for us and my best friend is going to be there with me. I can't wait until I get home and get to relive the ideas in a mini TR :yay:

I'm sorry to hear you won't be continuing your PTR...hopefully you will have a new TR to write very very soon! ;)

I hope so too. If my parents bring up the idea of next year's vacation, I will definitely put my good two sense in for a Disney trip. I'm so desperate I think I may put together a slideshow just because. Yeah, I think I watch WAY too much TV

Wow you leave so soon! SO exciting. The hotel sounds so fancy. It looks beautiful! Sugar Shack reminds me of Glee...

Yup, it just came much too quickly, but I can't wait to share the beautiful Quebec pictures with y'all. And the hotel really is fancy, on the website I was just in shock my school got a place like that after staying at ASMu for the Band & Chorus trip. I guess they go all out for this trip :confused3

Glee? Sugar Shack? ... Hmmm... I guess that may be a new one since I don't watch it anymore, the show is ruined in my opinion, but I won't go into an argument about that again like we did with American Idol ;) Too TV passionate, we are.

Haha, I really hope that isn't what we'll see when we have our breakfasts there. It seems like it is a nice place to have food, good thing it is all paid for ahead of time :thumbsup2

I'm so excited for going to that! It reminds me of a water park but on snow. Also, the place is all french-speaking peeps, so it will be interesting waiting for them to tell us go or when I talk to them. I'll probably be all Spanish and go "No habla francais" lol

I'm glad you understand. I was nervous people would flip out at me :scared1: But I feel if I'm going on a new trip, the TR and PTR will come when needed and I won't make it out of hopeless wanting but out of anxious waiting :goodvibes

Now now, we didn't argue about it, hahah. Just a difference in opinion. It happens! BUT I will say that I agree with you on that. Glee was the BEST in it's first season, especially the first half of the first season. However... the second and third season have just been... pretty crappy, to put it nicely. (Although I will say that I still enjoyed it enough to go to the Live concert of that too. What can I say, apparently I'm a sucker for Fox singing shows coming to a city near me.) Anyways, that being said I still have faith in it, so I still watch it. But yeah, it's disappointing now, for sure.

Yeah, that sounds much better. (: Oh my gosh, Glee, first season was AWESOME! I only started getting into it by the end of that season. I liked most of the second season, but for the most part you could definitely see it going downhill a bit. Then, the finale was such a flat moment, I tried watching the next season and it seemed to have just gone under. I think it's awesome though that NeNe Leakes is on it now, she is awesome! :goodvibes I really wanted to go to one of the Glee concerts since I think the singing is the one thing that keeps me semi-interested. People have misjudged the show when it comes to that, these kids aren't HSM kids, they are the real deal. I think if they made Glee into a Broadway show, that would be better since I think the TV show just hung out for too long. (:

Just wanted to leave a note on here that I will be leaving to Quebec in just a few minutes! I will be taking a ton of pictures and doing a lot of prep for my TR. You can follow what I'm doing by following me on Twitter @Goofy_DisNerd :)

Hello Everyone!

Just got home from Quebec about an hour and a half ago and I'm already talking up a storm about it. It was a VERY fun trip! I can't tell you how much fun I had. Though Disney will never compare, this is a trip in itself I will never forget and I have much to talk about, but before I begin I need your help.

I'm trying to pick a name for this mini-TR and I have many ideas:

"This IS one of those progressive schools that call their teachers by their first names." Sophomores hit Quebec City, Quebec!

Timmy I am so excited for your trip! We just booked a summer vacation in Disney for over July 4th! Anyways, I haven't been on the boards for SOO long! :( So now I have to catch up on many things including your PTR! I'm glad you had fun in Quebec! Can't wait to read about it! :goodvibes

Oh my gosh, Hi Hannah! It's been forever! So glad to see you back :) And that's awesome to hear about your trip. I actually won't be going back anytime soon, but there is talk of maybe going back in 2013. *crossing fingers* And I will be posting the Quebec trip soon enough, which title do you think I should have as header for the posts from the ones I listed above? =D

I don't think I've ever seen that many options for a trip title! We sometimes have one sort of thought up before we go, and sometimes something hits us during the trip. Whatever you call it, I am looking forward to seeing Quebec 'in person'.....sort of..... through your pictures.

Dang Timmy, that's a lot of titles! Hmm... I feel like a lot of them are inside jokes (or maybe all of them?) so I really have no opinion! But whatever you pick will work!

I usually just don't go that way, I just think it up after the trip and pick events that really embodied the whole trip, but I guess having an idea ahead of time is more of efficient. So I guess I'll just pick one on my own :)

Yeah, a lot of them are inside jokes, which I will explain once I start because they all highlight certain events in the trip. And thanks, I think I might as well since everyone seems to be having a tough time deciding. I think I'll start it tomorrow if I have time. :teeth:
