TWO DAYS COUNTING DOWN
Wow, time does go by fast doesn't it? I'm leaving to NYC in only TWO DAYS NOW! Wow, I know I keep on using the word often but when I had this trip planned a month ago I expected a Disney like result where the waiting would be ENDLESS, but nope, it is almost here. I'm probably going to start packing soon. Fun, fun, fun! Even though I still don't have concrete plans *gasp* But I'm always for spontaneous plans so that's what is probably gonna happen so I won't list any official plans but this is what I think is going to be the first day.
-Wake up around 6/6:30 to get ready (last minute packing)
-Get out on the road by 8:00
-Arrive in New York around 12:00
-Check-in at the Sheraton and get settled in
-Walk down to Times Square
-Check out Museums or Rockefeller Plaza
-Go back to room to get ready for Wicked
-Leave to get Gershwin Theater before 8:00
-See Wicked at 8:00
-Go to The Famous Oyster Bar for Dinner
-Maybe hang out in Times Square?/Go back to Sheraton to sleep
Then for the next day
-Wake up by at least 8 or so
-Go down to Hotel Lobby, ask about Tickets for Newsies (and/or RENT)/Pick which show is cheapest
-Leave for Times Square (stay there a bit)
-Maybe see more Museums/Central Park/Bronx Zoo
-Go to Matinee on Broadway (or at one of the Off-Broadway theaters)
-Find a restaurant for Lunch
-Go check out the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island/ 9/11 Memorial
-Come back to Times Square or Chinatown for Last Minute Shopping
-Go to room to pack up and clean
-Leave NYC
-Arrive home
Yup, so that is a very rough sketch of what we may or may not do. For the most part, a lot of the first day is very well planned out along with when we will leave and seeing the Broadway shows. Besides that, we still have to get a basic idea of what we want to do, especially since we want to see the 9/11 memorial which requires reservations to see and taking the Staten Island Ferry to Ellis Island and getting a look at the Statue of Libery (since it is not opened to go into sadly). But the shows we will be seeing are at times where we have hours to spare so there is lots to plan, but plans for me always deem themselves unnecessary so we may be in for more of a spur-of-the-moment type deal but we'll see.
For now, I'm going to leave you with some selected standards from various Broadway shows. With some of the shows I may see sprinkled in. Enjoy!
