Both my son and I have a medical condition where we tire very easily. However he is 7 and much too tall for any stroller. Is there a scooter that we both can sit on if necessary?

I know you can not tow anything behind your scooter and the scooter also can not be bigger then something ( at lest to go on disney muss and more then likely fit in the lines at disney. so the ones that the PP said I think might be too big for disney.
( it dose look really cool)

would a regular wheel chair work for him or a special needs stroller ( as they are bigger)

Well, they do make them, but I'm pretty sure you won't be able to rent one. And whether it would be allowed to be used at WDW is another consideration.

That would not work at WDW - ecvs must be one rider and less than 52 inches long

I would suggest a child size wheelchair rental for you child. You could use it as a walker to help you.

WDW park rules state that any ECV used must be single-rider. Do you have another adult with you? Could you alternate using a wheelchair if you only need it occasionally? Or you could rent a special needs stroller for the child to be pushed by another adult while you use an ECV. There really is no allowed option for you both to ride the same device together.

Enjoy your vacation!

Disney doesn't allow children to ride on ECV's with adults, although you will see people breaking the rule when CM's aren't looking.

But even if you could do it, it isn't safe. I've seen so many ECV drivers have to stop short, drive into a curb, or turn so quickly they tip over because of other guests getting in their way. It would not be safe to have a child on your lap or standing on the ECV while moving, even for the most experienced ECV driver.

Or even when they are looking. Saw a pair grandparents go through security and the entrance gates with their grandkids sitting on their laps. Nothing more than a "have a great day!" from the CMs.

It's still not safe.

If you have another adult who can go with you to push your son in a pediatric wheelchair that would probably be your safest option. If you don't want to use the ECV the whole time or he didn't want to use the wheelchair the entire time then you could always park them and go do some attractions in the area and then go back for the mobility devices when needed.
